26  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Trogdor Strikes Again! on: 2006 January 18, 19:09:31

Peasants and Countryside were, indeed, burninated.

Remind me to never again garden the way JM does.
27  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Alien/Zombie/Vampire on: 2006 January 08, 07:54:36
Is there any difference between making a sim a zombie first and then into a vamp, or making them a vamp first and a zombie afterwards?

Essentially the only alien thing of him left is his genetics, and I think passing the alien skintone to the offspring... That is if he's still fertile.

I thought zombies were sterile.

If it's the bug that I think it is, it'll be what happened to Greg (SimsHost) - which was this
29  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Cemeterary Question on: 2005 December 21, 18:24:54
The reason you can't get them back is because deleting the gravestones (w/o nounlinkondelete) results in deleting most data stored in the character files. No character file, no grave. Ergo, you can't get the graves back.
30  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Sims2 for PSP Review for those Interested... on: 2005 December 17, 21:04:17
The Sims 2 for the PSP has some really good ideas, but it also has some serious technical issues. But even though the PSP game makes the wise decision to not try to cram in everything from the original game, it does feature a surprising amount of continuity from the previous games. For instance, one of the first characters you meet in the game had mysteriously disappeared in the PC version of The Sims 2.

ARGH!

Did anyone test the PC game?
31  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What Batman character are you? on: 2005 December 14, 21:47:08
I got Alfred. I have to say that's one of the most obscure personality quizzes I've come across.

2/8/1/7/4

I'm neater than that! This thing must be screwed up. And I'm not that nasty, either. (Well, I can be, but most of the time, I'm not.)

I seem to have this feeling of dejá vu. Didn't I just leave there? Or is that here? Gleep...
34  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2005 November 29, 18:41:08
Error logs only pop up with testingcheats enabled, don't they? I think you need to figure out for yourself what needs fixing.
35  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: No Unlinkage On Urnstone Delete on: 2005 November 29, 15:48:09
I don't quite get it. Does this mean we can resurrect our dead even if we've deleted their tombstones?
36  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Deleting pictures from the neighbourhood on: 2005 November 24, 21:53:31
It works fine, provided you delete the thumbnails as well. (and also provided that they're not in the neighbourhood story at all. I think.)
37  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Intro Movies on: 2005 November 24, 17:53:35
I think it's just the fancy thumbnail in the menu. I deleted the one from Pleasantview and it still does the flyby when I go into the 'hood.
38  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Is this bad? on: 2005 November 22, 21:01:24
This is not a technical doo-hickey. More of a social/genetic one.

This is the entire freakin' town! (With exception of the Bennetts, Pleasants and a couple of misplaced spouses...)

NoTownieRegen does work with NL, right? - I want to advance this little English village a couple of generations, even if it means having to use some of the ugly as sin morons that are townies (If DC is reading this, I'm sorry...), without risiking another BFBVFS..

What should I do?

40  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The 12 Days of Maxis Christmas - A song on: 2005 November 21, 19:58:00
11 ugly townies
41  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hack request: An end to the three bolt greeting please on: 2005 November 20, 07:48:51
OK, yes, the whole kissing thing is aesthetically wrong.

What about in France? Or was that the style of kissing that was in Uni to replace that stupid handshake?

Though I do find it pretty freaky. The Sim-version of my sister (fortune) is friends (and nothing more) with one of the NPC podium peoples (no idea what his aspiration is - his name's Ian Bar or something like that). He's an Elder! She's, well, not! For some reason I think I might... I don't know. We're not talking about Mortimer and Dina here, that's for sure.
42  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is this what they call Holiday Lights in the Xmas Pack? on: 2005 November 19, 15:33:38
One of the many reasons why I won't be getting the X-mas pack. D'you think it could be the same sort of thing that happened to me, only worse?
43  Ye Olde Simmes 2 Archives: Dead Creators / Ye Olde Crammyboye Archives / Re: Electro Dance Sphere skilling changes. on: 2005 November 18, 15:57:30
The guide says that if the sim's been abducted a lot, they'll disappear whilst using the Sphere. Is this true, or are they talking a load of bollards (again)?
44  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How rich is rich? on: 2005 November 18, 15:40:14
Might it depend on how rich the first sim is to begin with?

Take the DeFactos, for example. They have §2,000,000+. Would someone with equal or greater wealth have to marry one of them in order for the want to be registered?

Edit: Damn, I should have actually read what Gali put. Then I wouldn't have to have asked, would I?
45  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I am trying to give you money on: 2005 November 17, 20:07:53
Didn't someone once say this site was filled with Homestar references? Kinda like this one?
46  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What the?! on: 2005 November 17, 17:50:02
It really does look like you graphics card is done for. I know this is probably moot, but have you tried changing the graphical setting to the lowest they will go.

I've tried it, and it works. But it just looks totally crap. (Edit: And I can live with it. Everything was on medium to begin with anyways.)

I'd also try dxdiag if I were you. Run the test just to see if Direct X is working.

It says everything is fine. Emphasis on "says."

It might also help to change the screen resolution to 800x600

I can see what you mean, but this monitor isn't really suited for 800x600. (Edit: Really, it isn't. I tried it and it looked terrible.)
47  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What the?! on: 2005 November 17, 07:41:39
Methinks you need a more powerful graphics card and/or an updated driver for it.

Drivers are up to date. Will irritate the elders for new graphics card in time for Christmas. Bet they'll say no.
48  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What the?! on: 2005 November 16, 21:33:46
I'm at work and can't respond as fast I would like.  But I modified my post.  Up a few hidden behind your latest picture.

Re-read. My graphics card is something like a GeForce 2 MX 200, which ran Uni quite well... I swear They are secretly bumping up system specs..

Check to make sure you don't have Post Processing enabled (boolprop enablePostProcessing true) and especially make sure that you do not have this cheat inserted in your userStartup.cheat config file.

I don't have a UserStartup.cheat file. I think. Unless there's one hidden somewhere. And I never, ever use PostProcessing. The only thing that the guides say it's good for is movies, and I don't make any.

The plan of "try a blank neighbourhood" seemed to work.

I didn't test it for very long because I'm tired right now and/or I just couldn't be bothered.

49  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What the?! on: 2005 November 16, 21:16:23
Is that the concrete terrain?

Nope, it's grass. All my neighbourhoods are in the theme of "Little English Village" rather than concreted metropoli.
50  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What the?! on: 2005 November 16, 21:13:16
Is it that neighborhood only or are all your neighborhoods now showing the same way?

It's not permanent - all of them do it from time to time, such as this event in Enderby:

  - but it's still irritating.

Quite interesingly, it only started to happen since the NL patch...
