Thanks people...all very good advice indeed, much appreciated  Smiley

528  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / I thing I have what is commonly known as the 'dead head' bug on: 2005 September 11, 07:52:55
When my family screen is in it's loading process, there are pictures of dead family members that still remain in it.

I know of one way to fix this (sort of.....and it seems quite involved Roll Eyes ) so I was wondering is there a hack I can use to get rid of their pics from the family screen?

Other than that, it isn't causing any problems with game play whatsoever, so should I just leave well enough alone and live with it? I don't really want to have to put up with it though, because I am a bit anal retentive  Wink and would prefer that my game was asthetically pristine at least  Smiley
529  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How often do Sims get promoted? on: 2005 September 10, 11:17:21
The Noodlesoother provides a similar, smaller benefit, at +50. Combination of Energizer + Noodlesoother tends to produce promotions with almost as good odds as platinum

Well I didn't realise that...I've never used the noodlesoother....I didn't understand it's benefits, but now that you've pointed those out J.M, I may in fact utilise it after all  Grin

Good on you momthing........

glad to hear that someone else can see the point of view that to ask relevant questions and voice relevant concerns does not equal vacuous bitching and moaning  Smiley
531  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What do you make of this? on: 2005 September 10, 11:10:46
Maybe if the sim is maxed out on logic, they assume he/she might want to be scared too?

Perhaps that might be true Zephyr, but I'm pretty sure it's only knowledge Sims who like to be scared because that seems to be one of their most 'treasured' wants.
532  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What do you make of this? on: 2005 September 10, 11:09:12
Have you reported this to TwoJeffs?  Are the sims in question perhaps children?  I saw someone asking TwoJeffs on his board about a ghost scaring their child sim.
Quote

Oh, how embarrasing....maybe it was a twojeffs hack.......in any case, no it's not kids who are being scared, it's adults....and non-knowledge adults at that.

I just read Becnivonville's post at BBS and all I could think of was "Geez woman, you need a cup of tea and a good lie down!"  Grin

What a self righteous attitude to have! Of course most people are going to have concerns about the new EP. Obviously, this thread here states that and I don't think a little bit of discussion between ourselves to voice our concerns and offer helpful tips to others hurts anyone.

Failing that, perhaps a night or two of lovin' from hubby might not go astray either??  Shocked
534  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What do you make of this? on: 2005 September 09, 21:42:28
Thanks for the input guys and gals....

I actually can't remember what Liliy died of to be honest, but yeah, she's the first ghost I've had that has done something other than just roam around and scare people. It's kind of good though, at least she's one of many on the lot whom I don't have to keep an eye on.

I've got J.M's ghost hack and I've set all of the ghosts to scare only knowledge Sims, but they still insist on occasionally scaring non-knowledge Sims....not sure why that is? Any ideas?

Can ghosts actually ummm........give up the ghost and die?

I will probably install the game sans hack and downloads....get the s**ts because it won't install without problems......consume copious amounts of cheese and whine......and sit back and wait until others do the same....then take my directions from them on how to install, remove, tweek yada, yada, yada!! Off topic I know, but may I ask a question please? Is it a good thing to get your lips ripped or a bad thing? And how does it happen?

I've been wondering *quietly though* about this and now I figure "oh what the hey, I'll ask and if I come across as stupid well, redirect me to retardo land"
539  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Lol, Bella again...:) on: 2005 September 08, 05:25:46
I used to use Simslice too for my downloads. He WAS the king of hacked objects and stuff way back when, but then he got greedy and made it a pay site!!!! Angry

Now all he has that IS free is mostly stuff you can find anywhere else as freebies anyway!
540  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How often do Sims get promoted? on: 2005 September 08, 04:48:05
What's equally annoying is a sim gets home from uni desperate for a particular career, and there isn't a single opening for nearly a week!  Not so bad if you've sent him back home to mum and dad and there's a new baby in the house as he/she can make themselves useful, but otherwise it's such a waste of time!
Quote

I so agree with you there Zephyr, I have YA's graduate from University with a particular career want and then when you settle them into their new digs, they can search the newspapers and online everyday for the career choice that interests them most, only to find that arrrrrrgh, it seems to take forever to finally hit paydirt!!
541  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How often do Sims get promoted? on: 2005 September 08, 03:58:53
I've noticed that my Sims sometimes get promoted each time they go to and come home from work on consecutive days.

I think it's a combination of all skills being fulfilled to the promotions requirements, being in a good mood and also having enough friends for the promotions requirement.

As well, it seems to be that the closer they are to reaching the top of their career, the more days that lapse between promotions.

Hi aussieone, I'm almost 100% sure I've seen the bladder bar go green when the sims are in the shower in sims2.
Quote

Hi Witch,

Thanks for the info....I must be more observant when I play the game next. Either that or I have Sims that are too neat and anal retentive to pee in the shower. I must make one in CAS with low neatness points and see if the dirty bugger pees in the shower  Shocked
543  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Visiting campus at inconvenient times on: 2005 September 07, 06:31:26
So much nicer than peeing in the shower!!!

You know, I'm sure I remember that hppening in the Sims 1....do the Sims still pee in the shower? I can't recall seeing that in this newest Sims game.
544  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Whizzing Kids on: 2005 September 07, 06:29:35
Not too hard, I hope!

No, not too hard....more of a spank/squeeze/ jiggle eyebrows up and down in anticipation action really  Cheesy
545  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Visiting campus at inconvenient times on: 2005 September 07, 05:02:27
I do like sims who can think for themselves, even if their thoughts don't necessarily coincide with mine!  I really feel I've achieved something when a sim goes for a pee before a bath or shower, without being told to!

Oh yes, I do love it so when my sim pees before showering. It gives me a little thrill to think that they may have learnt enough to realise that it makes sense to do that!! Even if they don't do it all of the time.  Smiley
546  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Whizzing Kids on: 2005 September 07, 05:00:24
No I haven't as yet. Mainly because I refuse to let all my Sims spend their free time woohooing (learn some skills for god's sake!! LOL) and as for the kids jumping on the bed, I'm hoping J.M. will develop a hack that would allow me to use a big giant hand to spank them when they do that...so disrespectful!... and so expensive to keep replacing the beds!! Tongue

What do you mean you don't gain skill from woohooing?  And shouldn't you let the woohooing offenders spank themselves?

Are you going to next tell me that the Social Bunny is not real? Just don't go there!

Yes I'm sure there's many a fine skill to be gained from woohooing, it's just a shame the game doesn't let the sims incorporate it into their everyday lives.
Imagine how many high your schmooze meter would go if you had the skill to kiss the boss's a**e  Shocked

Also when a couple is getting in the mood for woohoo, the special events camera shows a 'spanking' of sorts, so I guess they can at least spank their partners bottoms  Smiley
547  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Whizzing Kids on: 2005 September 07, 04:27:36
Did you know beds could break?  I heard about this on MTS2 in the thread for Lizz Love's love bed.  Someone's sims broke the bed woohooing in it, and Lizz said that wasn't just her bed, it's a part of the game, but it doesn't happen much.  Apparently kids can break beds by jumping on them too much.  Has anyone witnessed this?

Well, I suppose it's one way of making sure the little monsters go for a shower before they play on the play station or the computer!

I dunno.... mine usually just stand there waving there arms at me, then when I ignore their requests for a shower (cause I tend to think "Don't complain to me, just go and wash will you!!) they usually decide to explore more fun pursuits like eating whilst inhaling their body odour fumes....yum, yum!
549  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Visiting campus at inconvenient times on: 2005 September 07, 04:07:19
And if you see them about to go, you can just unclick the icon!

Unfortunately for me, they seem to decide to go on a
walkabout to Campus when I'm busy concentrating on something else. It's like they know I'm concentrating and they think "Ooh good, she's busy, so while she's not watching I'll just do the bolt to the nearest campus, bring home a pizza though, ergh, Im not really hungry and damn that crate will make a mighty fine coffee table too"   Roll Eyes
550  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Whizzing Kids on: 2005 September 07, 04:00:31
I think it is just an action Inge made. Without her hack, bedwetting doesn't exist in Sims 2.

That's what I wondered, but I thought I might have been missing some little Easter egg goody in my game.

LOL.....Not sure if I'd like the easter bunny to bring me that type of gift ayway  Undecided
