Title: Why doesn't my Sim like this room?
Post by: simsrocks on 2009 July 12, 09:42:01

I've replaced the carpet with wood, added paintings, and still, my Sim's environment bar is halfway full in that room, yet even in the bathroom, it's high.

WTH?

Try blowing out one of the walls, and then replacing it.

And make sure there's no gap in the roof.

I'd also try changing the flooring... I know that there are some floors with very low environment scores.

Yeah, but I know that floor, and that isn't one of them. This looks more like "Stuck Environment", which you solve by blowing out an exterior wall and venting the compartment into space.

The floor that affects environment is one of the University ones isn't it?
Bamboo something.

It was the light bamboo flooring.  IIRC, Marhis fixed it and posted it in Peasantry.

Yes - I always liked that floor.  Never cared about environment scores though.  I just wouldn't show the headmaster the room.  Whether my sims liked a room or not was their issue.  They get what I give them and THEY LIKE IT.  If it puts them in a bad mood, I can point and laugh.  In fact, don't my Perdition Apartments have a lot of that floor?  A whole apartment block that puts your sims in a bad mood.  That's Perdition.

Actually, showing the headmaster crappy rooms is strategery. The moment you pass 40 points, the tour ends. But if you pump it up to 39 points by showing shitty rooms before showing a 15 point room, you get moar points.

Does getting moar points actually have any effect, though?

The more you get, the less likely you have to bother with other crap. If you cut it too close, you might not be able to get enough out of just the tour/food thing, and then you'd actually have to TALK to him. Bleck.

Oh, I see - I've clearly forgotten how many points you need, as I haven't messed with the headmaster in a long time.

You need 90 points. I've had a few close calls, where I had to get my Sim to serve jelly for the last few points.

I hate the headmaster. I just cheat my kids and teens into private school.

I stopped having any problems with the Headmaster when I discovered that he'll like a turkey out of inventory as much as a homemade one.  So I just had one of my OFB businesses make and sell turkeys.  Than and not using the stupid light bamboo floor or anything cloned from it.

It's a sim. It likes the room or it feels your wrath.
But that is strange. Perhaps he's just a creep who gets off on bathrooms.
Who are we to judge?
