Title: Changing to UK_English?
Post by: ChamiMinds on 2007 March 03, 19:59:25
Ok it's been mentioned over and over but I never see an option anywhere to change it to UK_English. So if someone more awesome then me could tell me how that'd be great. Thanks!

WARNING: The following instructions include modifying Registry entries. If your system blows up, I deny all responsibility.

1. Go to Start > Run..., and type in "regedit" without the quotes.
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
3. Navigate to SOFTWARE.
4. Navigate to EA GAMES.
5. Click on "The Sims 2", then right click the entry for "Language" and select modify. Change it to "English UK" without the quotes.
6. Right click on the entry for "Locale" and select modify. Change it to "en_uk".
7. Click on the 1.0 entry located under "The Sims 2". Modify "Language" to 13 (make sure Hexadecimal is selected), and "LanguageName" to "English UK".
8. Repeat steps 5, 6, and 7 for all EPs and SPs installed.

There's probably something on MTS2 that does this for all EPs/SPs automatically (I don't think Pescado's has been updated for recent EPs).

Note that you might be on UK English already (if the clock is set to 24 hours, you're using UK English). You'll probably also want one of the mods on MTS2 that fixes some of the things that EA didn't (such as neighborhood/neighbourhood).

Wonderful and thank you! And of course if it all blows up in my face I'll do my best to heed your warning. ::Grin::
