Title: How to destroy all sim-written books in world?
Post by: Noromarc on 2011 November 30, 22:07:59
What is the procedure for destroying, removing, deleting, erradicating every book ever written by a player-controlled sim? Or at the very least keeping the hundred and something copies from showing up in the world library bookcases?

For AwesomeMod? Type "burnbook *" into the console. Needs debug commands. All sim-written books will then be exterminated summarily, as if they had never been. As for the hundred-and-something copies? Eh, just ignore that, it's not important.

I wish the command was "Fahrenheit451 *", but then I suppose you'd have people who couldn't spell it. :/

Yes, but you are a Lorelei. Plus, when I made the command ages ago, I sort of whipped it together to fulfill a specific function of purging ghost authorless books from the game, and then sort of just left it there, and never mentioned its existence to anyone until now, so I wasn't really thinking of making it a reference.

Console command worked flawlessly, burning every sim-authored book in the world and removing all printed editions from both household and public library. It also seems to have stopped all pending cheques from the sim's publishing company.

Well, yes. The book no longer exists. It was unwritten. That's what happens when you expunge all references to it from existence.

Just out of curiosity; does it affect a sim's "books written score"?

The un-written book should act as if it was never written. It is erased as if it had never existed. Expunged utterly from the space-time continuum. You know, exactly the kind of thing you would expect to happen when you invoke a delete command written by me.

Do books that were never written count towards a sim's book written score? WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Pescado does not destroy. Pescado makes things not exist in the first place.
