THANKS THIS IS GREAT

I started playing in a new hood with only 2 families in in. I decided to live downtown and so now I've got 2 families downtown as well.

I'm  doing the "10 kids in 30 Days" challange, and so far every toddler has a life time want.  Huh

Baby # 1

Baby # 2

and baby # 3 (my first boy!  Grin) wants to be a chef. Why?

If I can't get it to go away, once they become teens, should I give them asperations suted to these jobs or will they just roll new ones?

Strange.  When that happened to me in a new hood, I just burninated it and started over - damn Email challenge was doing good that time too.  They say it can be caused by dangling SWAF's, but I have no idea.

Well, I've had these 'dangling SWAFS' probably since I first started the game, but never had toddlers with LTW's.  Since the latest patch, however, they nearly all have them.  What is intriguing is that what they want ties in perfectly with either their personality, their interests, or both.  For instance,  I have one with very high interest in Health who wants to be Chief of Staff, another with high interest in Paranormal & Sci-Fi who wants to be a Mad Scientist, then I have a set of twins - one is very active and wants to be a Hall of Famer, while the other is a Libran with typical Romance Sim characteristics and she wants to woo-hoo with 20 different Sims.

Ancient, do they go away when they become teens, or are they a for real life time want?

Do you happen to have Squinge's anyltw mod in your game?  If so, he updated that mod a few weeks ago to fix that problem so you should go get the latest version of it.

I don. All I have that's even slightly close is the lot debugger which I use for the adults.

Did you do a DAC? That might cause dangling SWAFs which could lead to a BFBVFS.

Phew, I've exhausted my acronyms.

That's why I refuse to post my actual-play sims here.  I don't need furryhaters ripping me a new one.   Tongue  I like Genensims' site too much to give it up.

This problem appeared in my game as well...I went into SimPe and deleted the SWAFs with no owners...so far there seems to be no long terms effects of doing this.

It's a precursor to a BFBVFS.

I have a problem with my sims too, but it's kind of the opposite of yours, some of my sims don't develop LTW's when they transition to teens.  I have to use the lot debugger to give them one *sigh*

That's no good.

I never notice problems like this, but that could be because I routinely scrap my neighborhoods to start over when I get tired of a family.

So I have a veeeeeeeery small amount of character files.

Common bug. As far as I remember, fulfilling one regular want should get the game to give them an LTW.

Thanks!  I'll try that...I usually check it as soon as they transition and give them one if they don't have one...guess I need to be more patient *grins*

Oh, I don't think it's a problem, I just don't want the LTW to go away if they spaent their childhood skill building for it.
