Several motives: 1) they pee on the bed that are not theirs. 2)old education: double beds are associated to marriage and sex. Most of the people over here are around 70 years old.
I have a double bed and a TV in the bedroom. The kids are only allowed to watch TV in the living room CAUSE I DON'T want them in my bed. Nothing special, I allow my dog to sleep in my bed. Just old education. I don't associate dogs to marriage and sex.
52  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Can remodeling cemeteries kill ghosts? on: 2009 August 18, 08:03:49
You have to wait for a while before a ghosts show up. It can take one, two days. It is more effective if you get a Sim to play guitar in the cemetery. In a way it seems to "wake up" the ghosts a little earlier. My Riverview cemetery has quite a lot of ghosts over there. I did the Play Guitar and they showed up at the first visit.

Aha! Never nude takes bath in swimmsuit? Good, I always wished to place a bathtub in the garden. It will be kind of useful.

Do you have "hand of God" enabled? It deletes spoiled things but you get the message anyway.
55  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The NRaas Standalone WorkPusher on: 2009 August 17, 09:20:13
There are really a lot of objects imprisoning Sims in the game, exactly like in TS2. Everytime I invite a Sim home or to go out and get the answer Yes, but unfortunately something else came across". I go and check "what" came across and find the Sim trapped inside a box lady fence, or between a chair and a lamp. In the case they got red job performance, I found out that they were not going to work at all, but bumped on each other and stopped in front of the work door. The new version of AM have at least solved the last issue.
56  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: More Fun Activities For Sims 3 on: 2009 August 17, 08:53:13
This is true. XML is in plain English and is very easy to understand how it works. I always use the mod of someone else to make my adjustments cause the worst work is to find the xml self.  Grin

Out of topics. Do you casually know if Beds are global? I couldn't find the xml that says "Availablity: todldlers, children, teens, adults, elders - true or false". Reason: the highest required mod over here is to avoid that kids use double beds. I don't like it, some of my friends vomit if they see a kid in a double bed.
57  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: questions on: 2009 August 17, 08:31:28
Why don't you go back to the start zero and reinstall the monkey installer. I use the config structure installed by the monkey install, there is, mods/4 folders Hacks, misc, patterns, skins. I place all mods including AM in the folder Hacks, hairs in misc, skin replacements in skin and have nothing in patterns (didn't make or downloaded any).
Everything works and always worked.

Would wish that folk didn't start thread anonimous like (question ... , Help me ..., etc).
58  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 August 17, 08:15:49
I like to marry my Sims to the maid. On the contrary it seems that my NPCs older faster than normal and once I play with veeery long aging, they age far too fast. Everytime I marry a maid, they become elder in a few days. What I like in the maid is that they will always be maid. I mean, if you get them a job they get the job title, retire in this job, but if they die, they get back the maid status instead of the usual "unemployed". So, if you ressurrect them, they are still maids. Sometimes I ressurrect a ghost only to have one family member that will never die and keep the family name. I was not aware of the messages that they are getting old. Another EA nonsense - ghosts aging Huh This is not a feature, it is incompetence.
59  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Is the "Burglar" Trait good for anything? on: 2009 August 16, 08:45:00
I believe that no matter if the mentioned "sneak after midnight" is true, it will be a waste of a good trait, because you will have to wait until the sim is minimum YA to have any kind of eventual advantage. Before this age they will be simply limited by a Curfew.
So far, burglars are not playable. So your sim will have a trait that makes it to NPC anyway.
60  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Can remodeling cemeteries kill ghosts? on: 2009 August 16, 08:40:36
So far I know, making any kind of modification in a cemetery causes the eventual ghosts saved after the first install (sims that died while you were playing),  to be transferred to the house inventary of the family who the ghosts originally belongs to. Nothing happens to the ones that were there before you started to play once they are not even real played unless you have taken one and ressurrected and killed again.
If you are missing some ghosts, take a look in the house inventary of the Sims that belongs to his family.
I don't know even if there will be any loss if you bulldoze the cemetery. Probably except for the original ghosts, all your played ghosts will be also transferred to the house inventary.
61  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: How fast is your TS3? on: 2009 August 16, 08:30:44
Hardware development is going relatively slowly at the moment, comparing with previous experience in the past, when RAM and processor capacity almost doubled every year. The reason must be that if you are not using a computer to play games, you don't really need even the half of the capacity available today.
I use Windows XP 32 bits and have 4GB RAM installed that probably only 3GB is being used. RAM plays an important role in TS3 once I compared two computers, one with 2GB RAM and one with 4, both with powerful Graphic Cards and almost same CPU size. The biggest have AMD core and the other Intel Processor Duo Core too. The Intel had better performance, but failed by reason of too little RAM. So, RAM plays a big role.
As to upgrade computers, I have always a plan for when I'm going to acquire my next computer and prefer to wait until this buy is worth. No reason to buy something that is just a little bit better. Upgrading not always save that much money, once as much advanced a technology becomes, it also drops the price for a whole buy. At least here by us, buying spare parts can be much more expensive than going to something totally new. Not counting that in the case of Microsoft, it uses to subsidiate hardware when you install their product so much that buying a brand new PC can be more advantageous than buying a new graphic card or even some RAM. Of course, it is not the same in every land.
62  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Quick way of changing style on multiple objects? on: 2009 August 15, 09:51:14
This is the Base Game, folks - just the damn Base Game. Much will change in the course of the next 4 years that will make all of you changing the hell out of the Base Game to spend every interval between EPs, surfing around just to update the crap you fed the BASE GAME.
63  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Stuff from early development hidden in the files? on: 2009 August 15, 09:45:44
I doubt they really hide something, I believe much more that they place things that they are not able to make to work, then they leave it in the game so that someone else "find" it and makes it work. Then it will be labelled "Lost and Found".  Cheesy
64  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Wonky Colored Question Mark Tiles on: 2009 August 15, 09:38:39
I don't have any much ccs in my game except xml mods, replacement for the pudding skins, two hairs and AM. And I get all the issues reported here. My decision to not download any ccs for best look they can have, is just to assure that the issues are caused by the game bad programming, not anything that can be blamed on downloads.
65  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: XML trait listing query on: 2009 August 15, 09:27:54
There must be a lot in the coding that is reserved for future use. There's an xml for "Play Piano". There's no Piano in the game for now.
66  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: How fast is your TS3? on: 2009 August 15, 09:24:44
Everybody that is playing this game "Non-EA" way is having a pretty impressive hardware. All the results match yours.
None of us is satisfied. When you go public and say that you are creating a game that plays "at real time", have to accept claims that "real time" don't delay any second.
67  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.3 disabled options in my game - is there a solution? on: 2009 August 14, 12:01:49
I don't believe your problem has anything to do with patches. I had the same problem first time I installed TS3 and long before any patch.
For a reason that I cannot remember I uninstalled the game (maybe in one of my acute assholit attacks). Installed again and graphics became better. It seems to be a random bad install.
Graphics became acceptable after I upgraded my graphic cards to GT 9500/512MB VRAM. Now it is as perfect as EA's incompetence allows.
68  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Clone wars!!!11 on: 2009 August 14, 11:54:41
The system EA created is worse than you think. I have deleted all the supplied families, replaced by my own sims that cannot be deleted in game. Library can only place Sims that are in the bin (and there's nothing in the bin).
Have played 3 generations of Sims, so most of the sims and their families are long departed. Suddenly the game placed back an Andrews family that have a fat black couple with a kid that was originally in the game and died long ago. I don't have any of the fat Andrews long ago and they are back. Same sims, same look, same fat, same black, same everything. I wonder if all the other will be placed back again and where the hell they are saved?HuhHuh
69  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Wonky Colored Question Mark Tiles on: 2009 August 14, 11:47:06
I got this problem briefly when I started to unlock my game houses. I had about 10 houses locked including the ones from the game self: Goth, Landgraab, etc. The problem was very serious when I moved the Wolffs out of their house (I hate it). Then almost all buildings and houses presented one, several or all tiles covered with ?
The problem disappeared when all houses were unlocked and I finally bulldozed the damn Lone Wolf house.  The question mark seems to mean "Is that f** locked or not?
70  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Problem with co-workers only spawning if you interact (I think). on: 2009 August 14, 11:15:47
I don't get any cooworker or partner either and never saw any need for it. Except for some of the stupid Opportunites. My Sims reach the top of their career even when they are not skilled enough. If there's any need to relate to a cooworker, I look for any other sim that is in the same career and give then a charming introduction. It is enough. As to the partner of cops, they do not exist in game, if you get to befriend them it is going to create a townie to be befriended. Funny that another sim in the same career are never partners. Ass.
71  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Awesomized Neighborhoods With Cribs on: 2009 August 14, 11:01:18
Got my nephew to download Riverview for me directly from store. I confirmed the reason I don't like Internet. He got totally excited "YOU HAVE 1000 POINTS! Shall I buy something?" - No, download what you were asked for and get your ass out of there!.
I have enough trouble to teach the kids that the fact that something is available, it DOESN'T mean that you HAVE to take it!

Well, don't know what people has been claiming about. Installed and played it without problems. The hood is more beautiful than Sunset and have most of the Pleasant view missing characters. One more time I'm convinced that the Musical Rotation shall be nuked (by EA). It is meaningless to place a family on a lot, create garden, etc so that they move out to another unmatching lot.
As to nuke (destroy) all the people living there, up now I cannot see any difference between the Sims that I create and the trash created by the game self. Except for names (that I can change whenever I want), clothing (that I also can change), traits (that I can change too). When I can change everything, why bother?
72  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Maid Hair without Cap on: 2009 August 13, 10:35:29
Very funny things happen from game  to game. I placed the german maid hair in my game and didn't get it at all. Instead it unlocked the Mad Scientist hair (the one you would get if you stayed in front of a strong ventilator  Cheesy
73  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Awesomized Neighborhoods With Cribs on: 2009 August 13, 08:14:27
I do not the Riverview Hood in my game and it doesn't matter which one I download it never works in my game. I place it in the saves and it shows up in my game as an empty tumbnail. I can click on it and it seems to load. Soon after I get a message that something is seriously wrong with it and it recommend that I restart the game.
I know that Sunset hood has a very big file in the root game that seems to have all the elements necessary to fire the hood. All I get from this Riverview is a save game that never works.
What file is missing?  I could have got the Riverview directly from Store because I have 1000 points granted, but I cannot download because it seems that it requires the damned launcher that I do not use and do not have in this computer (the one connected to internet) that doesn't play Sims and does not even have capacity to play it.
Thanks.
74  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Indy Stone Mod development stops - News at 9 on: 2009 August 13, 07:56:22
I have changed completely my way to play and stablished a standard for houses that pleases me and I got almost all houses in the game to follow my standard. It seems that the game really try to disbalance and the player has the challenge to balance it again. You have to have the correct distribution of deaths and births, what the game cannot do self and cause massiv irregularities on births/deaths. If you do not this self, it clogs your game with townies and moving families that you don't want. I tried to make this balance self and it became a lot easier with the NRAAS inseminator. I can Sims have babies without the long process of sedution imposed by the game. This way I do not marry anyone, just make them best friends and inseminate them.
The city keeps an excess of single sims what avoids creation of new townies and enough babies to replace the previous generation that become elder and elder to finally die. This way I didn't have the game to produce one only Sim except maids that I contract very often. I also keep the maids pool spining correctly because I marry every good looking maid to my elders and create this way the necessary number of married couples and also a guarantee to continue the male family tree.
This is what balances my game and I'm already in the third generation (I play the second long aging, so my sims live about 210 days).
I'm satisfied with the results. Besides I have modified every damn xml mod to give autonomy to the sims in all matters that are boring for me. For example, I autonomized all the gardening process, so my Sims water, weed and harvest automatically. I have only the distributor task of selling the product and finding out the correct seed to plant and care for distributing the perfect or whatever fruits to Sims that have Green thumb. I'm doing the automatization to every task that normally bores me and act like the supermarket chain owner or the Seed Bank Manager of all kinds. It is working and I HAVE fun with it. As said before we are all different.
75  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 August 13, 07:40:49
The sims are not using other doors or even other tiles. It seems that they use the old foot path back to TS1 and never changed. They bump each other even on open terrain.
