Title: Should I allow my daughter to join MATY?
Post by: Danni on 2005 September 25, 15:50:37
I am asking for these reasons:

She plays the Sims 2 probably more than the sheep on the BBS. She knows how to click on the Sims and can make them do things.

She may not be able to read or type yet (although I can do it on her behalf) but she knows what a sheep is, and often goes "Baaa" when she sees one.

I also believe she is more intelligent than most of the sheep, and of course I'll be supervising her visits.

Do any of you have any objections?

Danni (and Sammie)

Why not,  maybe she will be able to raise the cumulive IQ of the newbies.

Just don't let her read the troll posts.

How old is your daughter, Danni?

I saw let her join, maybe she can give us some insight into the simtoddler bevahiour, like what is so fun about playing in the toilet?

She's too well behaved... never has played in the toilet. In fact, one of my complaints about the Sims 2 is that their toddlers are so hard to look after compared to my daughter :P

AWWWWW!  :)  That's sweet, Danni.  I have a 19-month old boy.  He likes to scroll the neighborhood and mess with the monitor settings.  LOL  And he does like to play in the toilet.   :-\

I shouldn't be surprised that the toddlers do play in the toilet, I had a cat that would run thru walls to get to it when she heard it flush.

I allowed her to make one post before bed (ok, she's gone early... but only by a few minutes :P)

She likes the emoticons... she'll no doubt be posting more when she gets her own computer tomorrow :)

My three year old likes to play the Sims. Mostly he likes to rearrange my neighborhoods though. Oh, and he likes to send sims to the potty. I don't let him post, although he does often sit in my lap as I post.

A 21-month-old toddler with her own computer?  Why, that's more awesome than JM!  Of course she should join MATY!

Samantha's been posting on forums since before she can sit up ;) When she learns how to read I'll have to make sure she doesn't see things she shouldn't, but until then she can do lots of Baaing at the sheep.

Current training:
Walking = Passed since 9/10 months
Speaking = Around 40%
Potty = Around 20%

And yup... she's already got a TV, Video and DVD player, two CD/tape players, a laptop (a kiddies one), a house, a car...

And you let your young child see sims sitting on the potty without the censor blur to cover what their tender little eyes shouldn't see?!  Oh the shame. (/sarcasm)

Actually, I think that is just too cute.  I like what Judecat said, although I think "borrow" is the key word here. ;)

It's quite cute. I just wish he wouldn't cue up so many actions every time I get up for a moment. This morning he bought one family 5 pianos for their front lawn and then reassigned the whole family to play freestyle for tips.

My toddler was still a "lap-baby" this time last year when TS2 came out, and he LOVED the opening sequence movie!!  If I even tried to "ESC" he would bawl!  He still sits on my lap and watches me play.  His favorite action is when an adult picks up a toddler and throws them in the air.  He giggles hysterically.  :)

On top of that, I have a 5 year old daughter who likes to play with me, but she DEMANDS that every room be pink, and that every family have a little girl!  She has a hard time understanding "single".  LOL

My daughters kept wanting me to play "them" since I had stuck them alone in a house over by the little shack.  They were just boring and I didn't want to play them.  So I made them both Bachelorettes in the bachelor challenge.  That was a riot.  It would be even MORE fun now with NL and chemistry.  I can't wait to try it again!

My son loves to set my sims' kitchen on fire when I'm not looking. I hate that head-splitting alarm! Little pyromaniac. And he's 10!

My Three year old nephew loves TS2, I gave him Don to play with lol.  Now all poor Don does is Eat Pizza and use the toilet lol.  "Connor-man eat Pizza *giggle giggle*"

LOL! So Don isn't getting much in the way of romance these days, I take it.

Is it going to be a brightly colored computer? I've seen some cute tv/dvd combos for kids, one for the girl came with a music box that was a cd organizer. It was a cinderella theme. I was sad we couldn't afford the mickey mouse one for my kid.
I bet you can find a cheap colorful case that would look great covered in stickers.

Sanrio (HelloKitty) makes tons of themed electronics for kids that are pretty cheap. I know Toys R Us in the states carries some of them, and some can be ordered online.

They have a TV/VCR/DVD combo and also a great minifridge that is the perfect size to hold a 6 pack of.... um soda. It would be wrong to keep it next to the computer full of booze.

No, poor Don doesn't get many Ladies these days, he's turned into a fat slob who eats pizza all day long whether he's hungry or not - usually in his underwear.  Although when he does get a little action, Connor proudly claims they are "dancing"

She's got a brightly coloured kiddies laptop, and her telly is black, as is her video recorder. Her DVD player is silver, and her new pc is beige... time to get out the stickers, methinks.

Oh my, this is hilarious.  Thanks for making me laugh. :)  Dancing in bed, huh?  That's so cute.  Any more stories or pics of a fat Don eating pizza in his undies?  He must be in aspiration failure by now.  Does he fear being fat?

I agree, I should go out and have a baby with someone so I can show them the sims!

Jk, the sims probably won't even be around by the tome I have kids :( I'll live vicariously through you people.

now lets not get carried away here -- I don't know about having kids -- borrowing is better -- I can give them back when they need changing.

Sammie's got more electronic toys than I do -- :D

All her electronic toys were given to her... it seems whenever the village doesn't want something, it ends up here :P

Add to that her very generous grandparents, great-grandparents and aunties, and you can see how she's got a full bedroom... :P

I've got a wav file of her going "baa sheep"... it's quiet, but it's pretty clear.

Well that pretty well explains why she's got more than me -- I am one of those Auntie types.
