76  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Hacks & C.C. working in WA VER 2.3 on: 2010 March 05, 21:13:59
i really need help putting mods onto my game 2 days of trying to get it. can someone please help me?

I don't think you will get any help because you did not start your sentences with capital letters.

Quite.  One might suggest a rudimentary textbook on English grammar.  I realize that these are not readily available in the "progressive" modern school classroom, but there must be one somewhere.
77  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Pool water is now black! on: 2010 February 20, 01:47:20
Yes.  They must be thrown out of the nest to see if they can learn to use "Search" properly, or fall to their deaths in the vat of boiling sharks.

Alternatively, there appears to be some sense that tickleonthetard is the new ZephyrZodiac.  We eagerly await her debut performance in providing inaccurate and potentially dangerous advice to n00bs.
78  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: All my sims skills are gone! on: 2010 February 17, 02:25:07
I don't know why, but I decided to run all the .package files in my mod folder through decrapify and s3rc.exe, AND, my save game, AND my libraries folder, AND userPresets.package file.  Oh man, what in the hell did I do!

I can see this happening as an accident, but to "decide" to do this is potentially the most idiotic thing I have come across in all of today.  You are clearly the sort of person who puts the plastic bag in with the bread when making toast and then brags about it.

PROTIP:  don't brag about stupid things you do.  We will believe you are stupid.  (I know there was a memo that went out about how we HAVE NO SYMPATHY.)

Well I now have no option but to reinstall everything.  Probably better that way.....

Don't forget to come back and tell us the thrilling story.
79  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: those motherfuckers.... 1.10.6??? on: 2010 February 16, 02:16:50
Ok. I have updates 3.1 and 10.10... shouldn't my game be working fine with AM? The laucher says it's version 2.5.12.004001.  I'm really confused and just want to play my game, please help. (and yes I have reomved all mods and AM is the only one giving me issues, and I really don't want to get rid of it)

Let's go through this by steps:
1) Download and install new patches.  I would skip the launcher part of all this, but if it works for you, we'll let that pass.
2) Download latest version of AM (did you remember to do this?)
3) Install AM as per directions.  It does not hurt, and might help, to update your configuration file.
4) Run game.
5) Work on your spelling (nothing to do with the game, but vital at MATY).

80  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Patch 1.10/2.5/3.1 on: 2010 February 14, 17:10:19
Check to see that you are using the original .exe file and the original TSLHost.dll in Game/Bin instead of a crack that came with a torrent.

No, I stopped using modified files/cracks when AM allowed no-cd checks. The only thing I can think otherwise of, is that the launcher broke a while back after WA. I never really bothered to fix it, since I don't use it. The launcher still opens, but new content and previous content could not be installed anymore. So, I moved my .dbc files to load with AM. All of that is safely out of the way on the desktop. The launcher is blocked from internet access, I have been downloading/ installing the patches manually. Not using the stupid EA Downloader, I'm out of ideas. The correct version is displayed in the launcher, likewise skuversion.txt, code_version.txt, and version.tag. What else could be considered an invalid file?

Make sure you're using the same version of patch that you used before.  Even if I change the SKU entry in the registry from 2 to 1, I can not use the Region 1 patch.  Region 2 patch works fine for me.  Your problem may simply be an issue of patch version - try a different version.
81  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Spoiled Food Stuck In Inventory on: 2010 February 14, 17:01:37
"for some reason", eh?

Some reason like you didn't read the how to set up Awesomemod thread, and failed to install the framework correctly?
82  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: What do you mean you can't recognize the awesomemod? on: 2010 January 30, 14:58:47
I had oddities with a partially patched up to date base and a fully patched(as far as I was aware) WA. I ended up uninstalling everything, patching with every patch, installing WA, patching with every patch, then framework in base and WA. After that AwesomeMod worked as it should.

I installed WA onto the Base patched to 1.6.  I then patched WA up to 2.3.  The game would not load at this point, and I then had to patch the base up to 1.8.  All worked fine at that point, and I have had no awesomemod glitches.

Mileage my vary, I suppose, if one has a lot of cc objects.  My game has almost no cc.
83  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: What do you mean you can't recognize the awesomemod? on: 2010 January 29, 21:59:57
Insofar as Awesomemod will not work, and will likely crash the game if it is not patched up to the specified level, this may be your problem.
84  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: a new world, Coconut Island on: 2010 January 22, 02:43:06
The newest version of Supreme Commander should blacklist inaccessible items after a dozen attempts or so.

If only something like this existed for IRL problems.
85  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Delete All Characters booboo redux on: 2010 January 11, 01:18:30
No, it won't.  Once you do something to a hood in TS2, it's permanent unless you delete the modified hood and replace it with a clean copy of the original.

Who cares?  The OP was deleting all the sims anyway, and clearly wanted a clean 'hood.  A custom hood should be fine.  Build your own.  It's better.  Why suffer the EAxis limitations?
86  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: a new world, Coconut Island on: 2010 January 08, 21:35:40
Caveats to be aware of: AwesomeStory never generates immigrants. New inhabitants can be generated only via the work of EA's job and school engines. If jobs and schools do not exist on the island, then no new immigrants ever appear. This means that new famblies can only be generated by the fissioning of existing famblies, usually from kids growing up.

In some ways this could be a plus.  I get so tired of notifications that some damn sim I never heard of is now skilling cookery.  And it's not like sims NEED a job (or school) to make a living.  If you can fish, write, garden, paint, or collect, you're set.

The look of this is good.  I'm assuming that one gets around via sandbar bridges.
87  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Delete All Characters booboo redux on: 2010 January 08, 21:29:56
Start new 'hood.  This one's toasted.

As to your houses, I think you can rescue them, if you can be sure they are clean.  If they had sims living in them, you will want to use cleaninstaller to make sure there is no residual rubbish in them.

Do you not have clean backups of your houses in the housing bin?  My TS2 game never has a house in play that does not also have a clean copy somewhere safe.
88  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The game has magically slowed to a snail's pace. Suggestions? on: 2010 January 08, 21:25:17
Reboot machine and make sure all unnecessary processes are disabled?  If I get a laggy, slow load on the game I reboot and reload.  That seems to work for me.

My game also appeared to hate SoundMAX and does not like the ATI Catalyst Controller.  I have replaced soundMAX and disable the ATI controller.  Also,  play offline and disable your antivirus during play.  That may help.

I sometimes have to reload 3 times or so to get a smooth game.
89  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / World of Puddings / Re: Witch Poofs - Version 2 on: 2010 January 03, 00:08:27
I am also pleased, since the Poofs v1 died a few sim days ago in my hood.  I can now load Poofs Mk2 and destroy some useless storymode created families.

Is there a good song about the wonderfulness of poison gas?
90  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / World of Puddings / Re: PUDDINGLAND: Pudding-Flavoured AwesomeLand! on: 2010 January 03, 00:05:32
If I were an F, I would be sad at the passing of at least this phase of Puddingland - I was rather enjoying it.  As it is, I simply maintain an interest in developments and lament, in an academic way, the fact that so many potential literary plot lines have been wasted.  Sort of like life, really.

I could express my preference for continued lulz in some form, perhaps in a rise of a new puddingland.

Whatever, really.

Impressive fire.  Is that what you get when you press the shiny button?
91  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / World of Puddings / Re: Reggikko Sim...NAO with MOAR Winkle! on: 2010 January 01, 04:28:33
Excellent.  A Reggikko pudding.  Now the axe murderings can commence in my hood.  I just loaded the "mark 2" versions of Lorelei, Marhis, and Plaidsquirrel, so you're just in time.
92  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Anach's Sims 3 Mods on: 2009 December 23, 02:38:00
I only included one option, simply because they are my personal mods and I only use one option. In this case its all about me Smiley

Well said, sieurdame.
93  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Anach's Sims 3 Mods on: 2009 December 22, 17:40:25
Then use one or the other. Are you playing on epic?

Not quite epic.  Sort of mid-range aging.  My sims (if they survive) tend to live about 175-200 days.  I just like more instant gratification - 9 day pregnancies are too much like waiting in line at the supermarket.  Not meant to be a criticism of the mod itself, just a comment.
94  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: What exactly is the awesome story driver? on: 2009 December 22, 17:34:46
@jolrei

Are you playing with TS2 style aging on?  Only the active household will age if you do.  I was getting disappointed that none of the other households in town were aging, also, so I switched that off and started using Buzzler's Aging Manager (found in the TS3 Pudding Facory) to manage the aging of my playable households.

I prefer my sims to age.  I generally play one household and occasionally jump to another family if I want something specific to happen (i.e. need a spawn, want them to get a job, etc.)  I leave aging on and use the "rule of 6" aging mod.  That way, my one chosen family is sensible, and random stupidity happens to everyone else, which I find amusing.  Awesome Story is indispensable for my purposes.
95  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Anach's Sims 3 Mods on: 2009 December 22, 01:56:04
9 day pregnancy?  With "rule of 6" aging mod, the pregnancy lasts longer than the entire baby/toddler stage, the most useless stage of a sim's life.
96  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Crash to desktop on: 2009 December 20, 20:26:14
So, apparently, I'm not the brightest bulb in the box. I patched my game, and now I can play again. Why this bright idea never dawned on me before is beyond me, although I'm too delirious with happiness right now to really care. If anyone else is still having this problem, try patching the game and updating to the latest version of AwesomeMod.

And I think we have a new front-running example for the
"Most Superfluous Post EVAR!"
97  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: no cc with new patch?? on: 2009 December 20, 20:12:02
Or just ignore the Grammar Nazis, since its not like they even have the answers you are seeking anyway. They simply are allowed here to show that, even if you are the worst person in the world, at least you are better that they are.

If you're going to try to be better than people, it really helps if you can write a coherent sentence.  Otherwise, as you can see, you lose some credibility.
98  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TS3 Base Game is incompatible with the current Sims 3 Expansion Pack on: 2009 December 20, 20:05:58
Patching from 1.7.9 to 1.8.25 worked fine for me after trying several versions of the patch.

Using the worldwide (.0002) version did not work, even after changing the SKU value in registry.  It would read "invalid file found".

However, using the US version (.0001) worked fine.  If at first you don't succeed, try another version of the patch (and make sure your SKU value is set for the appropriate region).
99  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Problem when becoming a witch... Help! on: 2009 December 11, 22:09:10
You should be reasonably safe if you remove everything that is not in the Awesomeware director's cut.  The game works if the only mods included are awesome.  The problem is clearly the work of the non-awesome.  Remove non-awesome hacks and cc first and test.  The game should work.  Then you can use binary searching to find the actual offending hack.
