Title: NPC types chart
Post by: angelyne on 2007 March 12, 19:29:41
Hi All,

Would anyone know how to identify NPC's from their corresponding value under misc in the Other tab of SimPE.  I want to rename my NPC's to make them easier to identify in game, but first I got to figure out which is which.

For example I think 0x0011 represents the Headmaster.

Does anyone have a chart handy ?

Thanks Dizzy for that extra info.

I just took inventory of my NPC's. This is a new game, barely played.  I have the noredundancy hack in place.

Strangely I have way more NPC's that I would have expected.  I did generate some NPC's using the tree.  Could it be that the antiredundancy ignores NPC's already created with the tree?  Although when does the game generate NPC's?  I was under the impression it was only when needed.  I haven't used any NPC's in this game yet, apart from the automatic ones like the paperboy and the mailman.  I did order groceries though.  Hmmm.

I shall test it further.

I thought that the skunk, LotP wolf & penguin were created automatically if you have Pets & Seasons - whether you wanted them to or  not.

Sorry I meant like 3 repairmens and 2 headmasters, etc.  Although some of them I did create myself, however I don't remember creating this many.  The shunk and mrs crumblebottom, and the hula dancers, the grim reaper etc, etc, are indeed created at the start of every new game.  The rest however, are created as needed.  At least I think.  However I'm wondering now.

I'm just quoting what the code states. I have no idea what all these types really do. (GLua 0x9012468A, Instance = 0xFF4C0B90 0x87400707)

If you want to avoid having too many NPCs, you need to create hoods with empty templates.
