76  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: making hidden objects appear? on: 2008 December 17, 15:47:21
Okay, so I took a look at it, following the tutorial I linked above, and it didn't crash for me, so it seems to be the correct one to follow. If you're still having problems, try deleting NeighborhoodManager and all the cache files (groups.cache, etc.).
77  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: making hidden objects appear? on: 2008 December 16, 19:57:16
I'll take a look at it when I get home. Maybe I'm forgetting something else that needs to be deleted or replaced, since it's been at least a year since I did it.

Meanwhile, I found my old tutorial, so look at that. It starts here: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,7267.msg203973.html#msg203973 but read the whole thing.

Looks like I forgot to tell you about loading and saving each house....

Making the LS neighborhoods playable in TS2 is really simple. Your crash is related to one of these issues:

You do not have the right EP's. You need NL and possibly OFB.

You didn't delete the Version Number entry.

You didn't rip out a valid Number ID entry from a valid TS2 neighborhood, and replace the one in the LS neighborhood.

You did not complete the story. The story must be completed before the 'hood is moved to TS2.

I think that's fixed by a hack at Paladin's... not sure though.
80  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More FUBAR Than You December (New) on: 2008 December 16, 04:11:18
Well, here is a sim with a snapped neck. I took a sim to a community lot and there was a townie just standing there with his neck broken. Nothing had "caused" it as far as I could tell. It actually took me a while to realize why the sim looked kind of odd.

Very good! Have a slice of delishus & moist caek! Wink

Is there an inscription on this caek of yours, by any chance?  Lips sealed
82  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Deleted my Downtown lots on: 2008 December 16, 02:09:55
Just pull them off your NL CD or your arred image file. That's the easiest way.
83  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there way to terminate pregnancies without modding tools? on: 2008 December 15, 05:30:00
Don't forget there's also fatfingering Try For Baby. Hasn't happened to me, but apparently a lot of people have abnormally fat fingers.
84  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Game hates me. Can't uninstall. on: 2008 December 14, 19:40:47
99.9% of the time, birth-related crashes have nothing to do with your game installation. It is almost always an incompatible download, which could be a skintone, hack, etc. Did you absolutely rule out that possibility?
85  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there way to terminate pregnancies without modding tools? on: 2008 December 14, 19:32:19
Mac users can use any of the mods/hacks that PC users use. Just not the programs. So, the OP can use a tool like InSIM or SimBlender, since both of those go in the Downloads folder and are in-game tools. Smiley

So, OP, go get SimBlender from the site linked above.

I kind of feel bad for whomever got stuck with the task of writing that letter. Clearly the poor retard hasn't been on the job long.
87  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: M&G install problem on: 2008 December 13, 21:00:30
It probably wants to give you some deleeshus Securom. You do not want?

I still don't have M&G because my gaming computer doesn't have internet access and I heard there's no way to install the damn thing without letting it connect to check for updates. Sad
88  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: anyone know what controlls the LS neighborhoods? on: 2008 December 13, 20:53:41
Which lots did you want? I have some of them at http://thesims2.ea.com/mysimpage/uploads.php?user_id=360528&nstart=1&asset_type=lot

I didn't find a way to get them without playing the stories. I could get into the neighborhood, but the extracted lots would then crash when added to another neighborhood (if they had been part of the story).
89  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Homework, The One Desk, and kids of all ages on: 2008 December 12, 05:41:19
I've never seen this happen. Are my 6's and 12's superior? Maybe you need to rethink your breeding strategies.

Just joking. I've never seen this because I just let my 6's and 12's do their homework wherever, even if that happens to be in the middle of the road. I learned this trick from real-life teaching. Some 6's just work better if you let them sprawl under a counter, in a filthy corner by the trash can, or in the one spot that guarantees they'll be hit by the door every time it opens. The last also provides much needed lulz.

Nice. I need MOAR fire in my game.
91  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Installing the Sim deleter Plugin on: 2008 December 11, 03:36:56
Make sure Resource Actions are actually visible. It took me an age and a half to realize why I wasn't seeing anything.
92  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is anyone really good at making beach-friendly neighborhood terrains? on: 2008 December 11, 03:09:40
Perfect! Baaaaaa! Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!  Cheesy

Okay, I feel better that it was the original terrain and not all my own stupidity.
93  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is anyone really good at making beach-friendly neighborhood terrains? on: 2008 December 10, 05:04:31
I already have all of those, and they're awesome. I wanted Golden Bay Island specifically because it's so tiny. It's awesome in the game because you can see the whole thing from any lot. It's the only one I've found where you can actually see that you are on an island, no matter where you are.
94  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Is anyone really good at making beach-friendly neighborhood terrains? on: 2008 December 10, 03:57:23
I've spent several hours in SC4 trying to get this stupid thing to work, and I give up.  Angry

I got the perfect little island from here http://nene.modthesims2.com/download.php?t=218435 (Golden Bay Island), and I've been trying to make it so that more of it can be used for beach lots. Currently only one side accepts beach lots (two small ones or one large one fit there), but the other sides do not.

I've tried it a million ways and nothing works. What the hell do you have to do to get it right?
95  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Looking for a good firewall on: 2008 December 08, 16:11:32
Comodo has been my choice for years. The only thing that annoys me is that it clearly has its hooks deep in the system, because even after fully shutting it down (including its service) it will continue to block certain actions (like activating stuff from giveawayoftheday.com). How it does that, I don't know, except that something must be running without showing up, which annoys me.
96  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Make friends with 5 service NPCs. Which ones count? on: 2008 December 08, 16:09:40
Actually, although the restaurant cook cannot be interacted with while s/he is working, they can be through other means such as Gypsy/Blind Dates and use of TJ's Crystal Ball.

And they walk by on community lots all the damn time. Or at least they do in my game. No guarantees that's normal behavior.  Undecided
97  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: A couple of edited nhood objects. Big Update. Object spam. on: 2008 December 08, 16:05:51
I can try it. I don't see why it wouldn't work, as long as you had a neighborhood camera that let you zoom in close enough to see where you're sticking it. I haven't yet tried turning nhood objects into regular deco, although I don't see why that wouldn't work... I'll try it both ways, I guess.

99  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis house of FAIL: December on: 2008 December 07, 05:55:02
All the houses here are awesome.

Then again, anything is an improvement on that horrible thing.
100  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Saluting plague - SOLVED on: 2008 December 07, 02:03:47
Ha ha ha hahahaha. LOL

I don't have M&G yet, so I can laugh at this. I suppose I won't be laughing much once I get it.
