It's the EAxis way of helping you to remodel all your gardens. Why aren't you properly appreciative of their efforts, you ungrateful turd?
102  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Game Crash on: 2008 December 04, 17:38:44
Did you do the obvious and delete groups.cache and all the other related files?
103  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Edited nhood ancient henge. More henge than you can handle! on: 2008 December 03, 00:19:12
ETA: I was excited to nab the shipwrecks from the pic above but don't see where to download them. Halp?

Go to the thread with the edited objects, and the link at the bottom has ALL the objects shown in that thread. Or at least it should, if I didn't screw up. Originally I posted two separate links, but then I added more objects and decided to just have one file instead of a million. Download everything and then pick out what you want.
104  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Edited nhood ancient henge. More henge than you can handle! on: 2008 December 02, 22:45:09
These are awesome, Sara.  More 'henges, please!

More is coming.

It's funny how the henge is so popular but no one seems to want to new shipwrecks and sand peninsulas. Those got only like 3 or 4 downloads.... No one wants a ship graveyard in their neighborhood?
105  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Edited nhood ancient henge. More henge than you can handle! on: 2008 December 02, 01:48:41
Does your new henge have regular turf that alters with the Seasons?  It's kind of annoying to have a neighborhood blanketed with snow, except for a bright green fresh henge.

Did I mention that moar awesome henge is certified free of radioactive green shit?

Lot view and 'hood view.

I suspect it is hacked to go anywhere, right?

I mod all the nhood stuff to go anywhere. Why put up with silly limits? Especially since the game screams about "not on roads! not in lots! not in water!" when you aren't anywhere near them!
106  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Edited nhood ancient henge. More henge than you can handle! on: 2008 December 01, 16:49:39
If you are right, and there is none, then that could be another idea for you- An intact henge.

Well, if you have one in your game, it had to have come from somewhere. Smiley

I'll look through the catalog tonight. I didn't really look last night because I knew what I wanted to edit and just went for it in SimPE.
107  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Edited nhood ancient henge. More henge than you can handle! on: 2008 December 01, 16:14:18
In my game, with OFB if I remember right but it might have been another, there was included two henges, one in ruins and one still intact, with all the standing stones still in place.

I think you may be thinking of Numenor's custom objects. I can't get into modthesims2 from this computer because it's blocked, but Google says the link is http://hideki.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?p=816988
108  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Edited nhood ancient henge. More henge than you can handle! on: 2008 December 01, 15:52:20
Eh, what henge that isn't in ruins? Didn't know one existed. Will look when I get home. If it came with Mansions, I don't have that yet.

I had no idea that the henge attracted UFOs, so I don't know if my pieces do.

If anyone needs MOAR henge and can think of other things to do to it, let me know. I ran out of ideas last night. Too bad the ideas have started to come while I'm at work. When I get home I'm going to try to build a freakin' TOWER using those pieces.  Tongue
109  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Edited nhood ancient henge. More henge than you can handle! (updated) on: 2008 December 01, 12:01:45
I never used this object because it sucks. It sucks because... well, just look at this green shit around it!

So I got rid of the green shit. It's exactly the same object, only without the green shit.

And then I got carried away a little bit.

I made a total of 10 new objects.

You can make so much henge now! Soooooooooo much henge! Your head will explode from all the henge you can make! Just look at all this henge!

To appreciate just how much henge you're getting, you have to look at all 10 of them together.

That's a lot of henge!

I need a Pescado to Dummy translation. :}

Translation: You downloaded unawesome crap. Get rid of it. If no unawesome crap is present, then your awesome crap needs to be updated.
112  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Townies be gone forever!? on: 2008 December 01, 06:26:54
Yes, you can have close to zero townies. However, you will still be plagued by sims who act similar to townies but are actually NPCs with a (supposed) purpose. These include garden club members in Seasons, hobby club members in Free Time, and roomies in Apartment Life. Nothing can be done about these. Still, it's better than having a billion useless townies infesting your 'hood.

No, nothing blows up if you don't allow the game to create more townies. In fact it is good to limit the number of useless sims. The hacks you are using will not prevent the game from creating new sims that it actually NEEDS in order to function.

 Shocked

Someone has been living under a rock!

114  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / A couple of edited nhood objects. Big Update. Object spam. on: 2008 December 01, 00:27:36
I was decorating a new neighborhood when I realized that some variations of the nhood objects would make it MOAR better.

I edited the rock and sand peninsula so that there are two new flavors. One is without the plants and one is without the sand. I also modded them so that they go into lots and so on (like the hack I made earlier), so that you have even more options for placement.

Here are the three objects for comparison. EAxis is on the left, the two new ones by me are on the right.

I also made this modified shipwreck. All I did was delete the rock. The shipwreck is for water ONLY. It will float in the air when placed on land or in shallow water. See pictures. I showed it in two different depths. The EAxis original is on the left for comparison. It does look kind of dumb with the broken ship floating on water, but the idea is that you add your own rocks to it. Examples shown.

Compatibility: all files require BV.

Also, can anyone help me with something? I want to mirror-flip the peninsula, but the texture no longer gets applied correctly to the flipped object. Isn't there a quick way to mirror-flip objects? I seem to recall that it shouldn't require remapping, but I can't find a tutorial.
Edit: OMG. Good grief, I feel like the biggest moron now. I'll leave this question up just so everyone can point and laugh.

Here are two more shipwrecks. The only difference between them is that one has sails and one does not. Variety is the spice of life. These shipwrecks sit on the ground and are appropriate for the beach or for shallow water. Images show the ships on the ground and in water. I personally think they look awesome.

More shipwrecks.

More peninsulas. One of these is Bloom's. Bloom made it a default replacement, which I didn't want because I like the original one just fine. I just made it into a non-replacement. Credit to Bloom.

Here is a rock that used to be a rock and sand peninsula. And here are the palm trees that came with it, too. Two separate objects now.

Here's a Spanish windmill without the base. I think the windmills came with OFB, but I'm not sure. Check your game. Got windmills? Okay, then download. No windmills, don't download.

Here is a broken Dutch windmill. It kind of sucks, really.

Here are the ancient ruins. Original is on the left. One has no tree and one is just the top. I have no idea which EP these are from. Check your game.

Download everything here. If you downloaded the original objects I posted, they are included in this file, too. Just let it override the old ones.

115  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: How to fix plant recolors that Seasons broke? on: 2008 November 30, 12:09:49
Probably impossible to find them now, since I dumped them back into the general Downloads.
116  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: How to fix plant recolors that Seasons broke? on: 2008 November 29, 20:42:54
The only way I know to fix it is to redo the recolor (create a new recolor and use the texture from the old one), but this is such a pain to do when you have a lot of them. I did about ten before I was bored to tears. Oh well.
117  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Make any door function like an Apartment Door on: 2008 November 29, 17:07:13
I am converting my forum to Beta 2 right now, but when it is up again I have just such a hack in testing (well I have lent a thread to Leesester who is making it) and it will allow you to use a wider range of doors as apartment doors).   The only other way to do it would have been to edit the LUAs.

This will be awesome, Inge. I could use some different doors in my themed neighborhoods. So you're going to do what I saw you post on MTS2, and have the doors themselves have the option to change the model?
118  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: How to fix plant recolors that Seasons broke? on: 2008 November 29, 17:04:32
Seasons made it so some plants change with the coming of fall and winter. Old recolors of those plants will work normally during summer and spring, but flash bright blue when fall and winter come, due to missing texture references.
119  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Matchmaker on: 2008 November 28, 23:36:53
In short, stupid advice is stupid.

Fact: No one could be satisfied with normal, intended behavior, since it is made of fail. Fail has been described by others, above.

Fact: OP has already been advised about tight pants. It is not necessary to advise about tight pants again. If OP has a brain, OP will follow advice and loosen tight pants.

Fact: Advice offers long term solution, post pants-loosening, that OP may not be aware of. Solution bypasses fail. It is made of win.

Fact: You are stupid.
120  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: "Lifelong Happiness" - does it do anything? on: 2008 November 28, 21:12:06
otherwise it wouldn't exist.

 Huh

Have you been playing this game long?
121  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Matchmaker on: 2008 November 28, 21:09:50
Use TwoJeffs' crystal ball as an alternative to the idiotic matchmaker.
122  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Default replacement witch skin using Enayla's Pixie Emerald. on: 2008 November 28, 21:06:25
I just have the following folders:

ZHacks
ZZDefaultReplacements
ZZZSkinAndEyes

And have never had any problems. Every other folder is just named for what's in it, like Objects, Clothing, Maxis Match, Hair, Makeup, etc.

I separate skintones and eyes for a reason that I can't exactly recall, but it also has to do with loading order. I started doing it so long ago that I can't remember why exactly it's that way or what it's supposed to solve. Oh well.

Of course you also have to watch out for hacks that need to be loaded after other hacks, so the hacks folder itself has to be organized, too.
123  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Default replacement witch skin using Enayla's Pixie Emerald. on: 2008 November 28, 16:47:29
This is probably a very stupid question but sorry I'm not tech minded but how do you 'switch load order'

The game loads stuff alphabetically. If you want something to be loaded last, rename the file it so it's at the end of the alphabet. Folders count too, so if you use folders you have to think about which folder is going to be loaded first, and then change names accordingly.
124  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / How to fix plant recolors that Seasons broke? on: 2008 November 28, 10:57:31
I was looking at some of the stuff in my junk folder, and saw some old plant recolors that I used to really like, but which were broken by Seasons.

Is there an easy way to fix them?
125  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Proper Gardening Badge Building! on: 2008 November 26, 21:23:11
Well, actually I don't know that the item in particular is stolen. Pandora is just known for stealing shamelessly. You never know what's safe and what is hellknowswherefrom.
