So it is. awesome/rtfm.txt doesn't mention that in addtrait's listing under Debug, it's under the listing under CAS ("Can use code 'addtrait <trait>' to add more than 5 traits to adult+ sim").
2  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2014 July 20, 09:26:07
showconfig
-> DisableTraitCaps: True

addtrait angler
-> Boo! [SimName] already has 4 out of 4 traits allowed!

Playing with all expansions, 1.67. Isla Paradiso, household of 1 Teen Sim if it matters. AwesomeMod as of yesterday (well, grabbed from Mirror 1 yesterday, with configuration generated by the Configuration Tool webpage).

e: I didn't rtfm enough.
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Neverending Pause on: 2010 October 10, 06:34:55
EDIT: I fixed the problem. It was a stuck Sim. Fucking Mortimer somehow got stuck through the fence over at the Bachelors', I had to do some temporary remodeling.

So yeah, looks like the constant temporary freeze problem is due to stuck Sims.

---

Sorry for the necro, but I'd rather necro a topic with a relevant post than create a new thread (and get anally reamed with "FUCKING SEARCH" posts).

My pauses were inconsistent and lasted for 1-20 seconds every 15 seconds or so (while the trees continued to sway).

This is exactly the problem I am having and it started only just a few hours ago (I've been playing four about 8 hours straight for the past three or so days). First thing I tried when I had this problem was fixall; it fixed some phantom butts and a bad Sim, but not this problem.

Installed:

Sims 3
Sims 3 WA
Sims 3 HELS
Sims 3 Amb
Sims 3 FLS

(In that order.)

Have been playing with Awesomemod from the very beginning.

I've not installed any major CC (not that I know what the hell constitutes "major" CC, though) - just two Sims; the first of which did not have any problems (i.e., the game did not have this freezing problem immediately after the Sim was installed; in fact this problem didn't crop up until after about a day of play after this Sim was installed and dropped into my neighborhood) and the second of which I just installed about an hour ago (i.e., long after since this freezing problem has started; this Sim was only used for bodysnatch onto another Sim I made through CAS). No other custom CC, playing in Sunset Valley only.

Have only added two Sims to Sunset Valley; one made through CAS (later modified with bodysnatch and some minor tweaking with editsim) and the first CC Sim (mentioned above). I don't play the CC Sim at all.

I've placed only two lots - EAxian's Miramontes at 74 Landgraab Ave and Cabin Fever at 9 Sun Song Ave - before the freeze problem. Miramontes currently has no occupants, Cabin Fever has the CC Sim and I have verified that she can enter/leave the house without problem.

Just nuked the Miramontes lot from orbit. Has not fixed problem.

Started a new game in Twinbrooks. No freeze problem.

Have tried restarting the game multiple times to no effect. Haven't tried doing a system reboot, though.

Have been starting the game using the Awesome Updater's updater.bat (mostly to avoid using TS3's Launcher).

System specs:
Win 7 Pro x64
ASUS P56X58D Premium motherboard
Intel Core i7-930 (2.4GHz, 4 physical, 4 virtual cores)
6GB DDR3 RAM (G.SKILL PI Series, if that's relevant)
ATI Radeon HD 5850 GPU (specifically an XFI card, if that's relevant)
ASUS Xonar Essence ST soundcard
2x2TB@7200RPM Hitachi Deskstar HDDs (technically only one is in use, as it has my Windows partition; the other HDD is Ubuntu and not relevant to this, AFAICT) (1.39TB free on the partition that I've installed TS3 to [the same partition has My Documents]; 29.4GB free on the system partition)
1TB@5400RPM Western Digital My Book portable HDD (on which I'm currently storing the .iso of TS3 that I'm running the game from) (575GB free)
750w Corsair PSU

Just tried moving the .iso from my portadrive to my system drive, no change in performance (i.e., the problem still persists).

Just switched active households to a default (i.e., non-custom made) one; no freeze problem. What the eff is this bullshit.

:rage:

ETA: resetworld hasn't helped.

Since I'm running in windowed mode, I can watch how much TS3 is sucking up, system resources-wise. It holds steady ~15-18% CPU use and ~1,180,000K - ~1,300,000K memory use.

ETA2: I tell a lie. Normally TS3 uses up 05-08% CPU; when it does its freeze though, that number shoots up to 15-17% and stays there until it unfreezes (for all of twenty seconds). This is constant and consistent. So, at least for me, the problem doesn't seem to be memory use.

ETA3: The problem still exists and persists even after I removed all .package files (except for awesome.package and aweconf.package) from my Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages.

ETA4: I think I found the problem. Mortimer Goth is stuck partway through the fence of the Bachelor household. I am going to punch this kid in the dick so hard his mother will be retroactively sterilized. I don't even give a fuck that he's a kid. Anyone know how to nuke/move specific Sims?

So I was starting up OFB. Hit Ctrl + Shift + C.

Nothing. Thought it was maybe a conflicting hack problem. Ran the Conflict Detector. Nothing. Closed some programs. Ran OFB again, tried to open the console cheat boc thing.

Still nothing.

Anyone know why this might be happening?

Passing it (and the ten commercial lots they own) down through the family lines...

I'm planning a not-so-hostile takeover of Pleasantview, Downtown, University, and Bluewater.

That way, everyone who's part of the Griffinhart family knows everyone else. And all the commercial lots will be owned by us.

Yeah, we're gonna become some sort of super-old-money family. Woots.

I made roughly thirty million using a bunch of Snapdragons, chairs, a small TV, an assload of caffeine, and two Sims, one using rally forth. And a bunch of other stuff to keep my Sims' moods up.

Really hard to set up, but when you're charging around ten Sims $19,999 per hour to watch TV, you're gonna make a very nice profit.
Heh, that's a really broken use of hourly pricing. Tongue

Of course. Games are meant to be taken advantage of, aren't they?

And my record using the above method got me roughly 7 or 8 million in a single day (24 hours) with only 4 or 5 sims, or something. S'awesome!

Or have I been playing too many H-games again?

I think JM's hack is supposed to fix that...

Hm, there's probably a conflict in there somewhere. Do you have any non-Awesome hacks/hacked items? Try scanning for any conflicts.

11  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Food facts(?) and Is it worth having a food processor on: 2006 June 24, 12:45:15
As a reminder, food in a sim's inventory will not go bad, so you can still make full use of the "serve meal" option even if a household only has two to three sims. Just have them eat what they'd like and put the leftovers in one the sim's inventories. This can also be useful for pregnant/sick sims; have them keep several meals in their inventories so they don't have to go through the hassle of preparing food every time they need to eat.

Yeah, ever notice how a Sim's inventory is like an extra-dimensional portal/bag/pocket thing where NOTHING ages? You can even stop price depreciation (sp?) by putting stuff in there...

Anyways, onto my question: Is it worth having a food processor? I mean, if you have a mid-priced counter, is it worth having a food processor? Is the processor faster?

Neh, fized the problem a while back. The "Teens Can Woohoo" mod was conflicting with some mod or another.

Ah well... I guess my teens won't be able to get laid... like we're supposed to be able to in real life... =(

17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / How do you change the camera's up/down angle? on: 2006 May 15, 01:38:35
Somehow, my game's camera for one of my residential lots as angled almost to a top-down view (~80 degrees perpendicular to the ground).

Is there anyway to reset it to the default? The angle is really pissing me off.

All I'm using is the aging off cheat, but I was using that cheat for Sim A and he managed to reach A+, easy.

Yeah, you might wanna get a new PS if you're going to upgrade to a much more powerful GPU/CPU.

At least, that's how I fixed my problem when I upgraded to my 7800 GTX. (From a BFG GeForce 5700.)

20  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: OFB Patch Crap on: 2006 May 14, 05:41:47
I heard that using a NoCD crack would freeze the University grade bar.

But such an issue would be fixed with re-installing, if anyone used a different .exe to play in the first place.

Or replacing the NoCD .exe with the original, if a person using a NoCD was smart enough to back-up their originals.

21  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Frozen Grades (Public, Private, and Uni) on: 2006 May 14, 05:40:34
Have you always had difficulty reaching A+ grade, or were you able to do so without too much trouble at one point and then it suddenly changed?

That's what happened. My first Sim ("Sim A") easily reached A+. However, Sim B of a different family was never able to reach A+ grades.

No, I'm not using any public/private school hacks.

Also, my Sims' grades will reset to a C if I direct them to visit a community lot.

22  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: OFB Patch Crap on: 2006 May 14, 00:32:46
I have this exact same problem. I doubt it's because of any hacks though... probably OFB. Is there any known fix, outside of using the College Adjuster?

23  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Frozen Grades (Public, Private, and Uni) on: 2006 May 14, 00:31:46
Argh. I keep having these problems.

Well, this one is kind of old, actually. My Sims' grades don't wanna rise. I got one of my Sims to reach A+ in Public/Private school, but my other ex-teen was never able to get past a B+ (later on, she got stuck at a C+). Now she's in Uni and has the same problem as my other A+ Sim had: her class performance bar is at the minimum, and won't rise. I have all her skills maxed out, but that doesn't do anything.

For my previous, A+ Sim, I had to resort to using the College Adjuster hack to max the performance bar an hour before his Finals to ensure I passed.

Is there any way to fix this, or is this just an inherent Maxian glitch? The Public/Private school grade never reaching A+ has happened to me since before NL, but the Uni glitch just happened recently (after I got OFB and DL'd a bunch of Awesome hacks.)
