Is that the House of Fallen Trees? I had lighting issues with that particular lot. You could try the lot lighting cheat which fixed it for me.

From the Prima Guide

"setLotLightingFile [filename]: Change lighting by choosing an alternative lighting file. The original can be found in C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Nightlife\TSData\Res\Lights. Place your new lighting file in this folder and use the cheat to specify the file name for the open lot. To restore the lot back to the original lighting settings, input *setLotLightingFile clear*."

Tested this one out in a clean neighbourhood and it works. My sim went to the final from the ss lot and returned there. No funds were added the the secrect society and when he returned to his dorm his funds had increased correctly. I only tested a couple of times though. I'm putting this in my main game now.

Thankyou Syberspunk.

As far as I know that has always happened.  The SS has always 'stolen' my sim's good grade bonus.

Has it? Shows how often I play uni doesn't it Smiley Thanks for that meyersyoung, I'll just make sure not to take them to the ss close to a final.

Of course, the way around it has always been to buy something on the SS lot equal to the value of the grade bonus (and maybe more, if you want to do a little embezzlement Smiley), and plop it in the sim's inventory.  Then sell it when the sim gets back to the dorm -- it won't have lost any value.

Cool, nice plan. I always like a bit of embezzlement!

Also, Syberspunk, Thankyou for this, it seems to be working perfectly

I've had a slightly different problem now I've finally got my ss lot to load. My sim went to her final exam whilst at the ss lot and returned there. When I sent her home the secret society kept the money she received for passing. I cheated to get her money back up so it's not a major issue but thought I would mention it.

I don't know if this was the way it would happen pre OFB as I haven't played Uni in an age so please point and laugh if this a known glitch/feature.

Oddly enough the exact same thing happened to me yesterday. I also have more than one campus attatched the the main hood. What I did notice that although I was playing Sim State the game was trying to load the Volauvent lot which is the Acadamie le Tour secret society. I pulled out my hacks earlier and it still does the same thing. I also play with debug mode on and received no error messages.

Thought I'd mention this just in case it was helpful and I apologise for the thread hi-jacking Smiley

I've got exactly the same thing going on in my game. It's been like this since I installed Nightlife.

The hood wasn't overstuffed when it happened (although it is now), I had the Directors Cut in my downloads folder and I don't lotbin sims (learnt my lesson long ago!)

It doesn't seem to cause me any problems and has just become annoying more than anything else.
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Stupid stairs corrupting! on: 2006 February 19, 14:20:03
I used to loathe 2 storey or more houses until I discovered the 'Ascension Elevator Stairs' made by Targa over at MTS. They take up only one tile space and I have very few problems with them. Except of course trying to remove the invisible ones!

Every now and again some stupid sim will stand and play kicky bag on them and then I have to move them on, but it's a small price to pay for going upstairs rapidly!
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: About bringing that Tricou family back to life on: 2005 December 04, 21:08:00
I resurected Jennicor first and all she wants to do is party and buy toys. Seems the feeling is mutual!

Edited because I can't type
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: "House of Fallen Trees" crashes my game on: 2005 December 03, 23:08:13
Thanks guys. The dim lighting was driving me crazy Smiley Now i can take pictures that don't look as if I forgot to use the flash. I'm off to use the cheat on my lot.

Edited to add. YAY!! Works perfectly and the lot seems much less laggy. I have 10 sims on this one and the edge scrolling is actually smooth for a change. You guys are awesome.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: "House of Fallen Trees" crashes my game on: 2005 December 03, 13:56:57
The house doesn't crash for me but what is up with the weird lighting.  It is like it is coded differently than other houses.  No matter how many lights there are it still looks spooky.  I put sim detail and obect detail etc. on full quality and there is definitely something different in the graphics of that house.  I resurrected the Tricous and put all of them in that house minus the elders and I want to use it as their family home but I'm concerned about what I'm seeing.  When Kiernan and Nylissit woohooed in bed for the first time, during the cinematic, his face was distorted but after it was finished he looked fine.  I removed Rainelle to the the cemetary and plan to move Jon and Jenicor's graves to the house.  I don't want to do this if there is a possible way that I might lose their graves due to the house becoming corrupt because of some weird coding.  Anyone notice odd graphics in the house or is it just me?

I've noticed the lighting is odd in this house as well and I've also redecorated completely. Mostly in pale colours to try and lighten it up.  Even putting windows all round doesn't seem to brighten it up. I also find that often objects are not correctly illuminated at night especially custom ones. The upstairs bathrooms are especially dark. I've not noticed any other kind of graphical corruption though.

I have certainly had pregnant sims get paid for non work days pre NL. The best would be Caitlin who was at the top of the Natural Scientist career and got pregnant the day after her one and only work day. She received over 30,000 in three days!

The best bit for me was watching the fridge door open on it's own and the dustbin lid lift off alone.

I had exactly the same problem a while ago. This thread solved it for me.

19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: HUZZAH! Banned from Rentech.com! on: 2005 August 17, 11:52:48
I picked up what has been desribed by local friends as the worst Geordie accent they have ever heard. But when I go home the accent disappears in about a day and I return to the faint Wiltshire accent I used to have interspered with some Geordie expressions.

Edit. Yes my family do laugh and yes I get recognised as a southerner although no one is very good at guessing which part.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: HUZZAH! Banned from Rentech.com! on: 2005 August 17, 09:54:45
On the other hand, I have great difficulty understanding Geordies (from the Newcastle-on-Tyne area of England)! I think sometimes it's easier to make allowances for vowel-shifts in a foreign language than it is in your own - it's the consonants you are listening for!

I completely understand you there! I'm a Scouser (from Liverpool, England), and moved up near Newcastle-upon-Tyne just under three years ago. I'm better at understanding Geordies now, but when I first moved up I had to ask my boyfriend to translate! I don't have much of an accent, something that I used to get bullied for in school.

I don't have too much trouble with Geordie any more (I'm a southerner who moved to the North East 15 years ago). I find the Scots accent the hardest to understand especially when they talk fast.

Brynne, thanks for your post. I had no idea what the Ghost Emitter option did so had not used it. Tried it just now and it fixed everything.  Grin Thankyou JM.

I also have this problem but with me it's chairs. Even though I have deleted them I still get the 'yikes' jump from the sims. It's gotten so bad it takes the mailman 4 sim hours to walk the last half of the lot. Also included is the ability to teleport back inside the house. My sims are also performing animations in a completely different place to the object they are supposed to be interacting with. But this only happens in a certain area of the lot.
