*raises hand hesitatingly*
what about the dj booth? my crypt o' night club has two dj booths on two floors and the employees ignore the bottom one. the only solution i have found is to force an error on the booths, make them selectable, cancel their action and unassign them using the controller. when they are finally stopped and empty i try to assign using the hammer or by clicking on the dj booth. usually i have to do this four or five times before they go to their respective floors. finally i made them both managers, as to have more controll and not have to dance with the tele-cat, but they are still insisting on using the same booth. i have even tried unassigning them before sending them home and calling them in at seperate times.
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can Inge's apartment mods be partially combined with Pescado's? on: 2009 August 31, 05:22:15
i use the 4key doors and aptfixes. the only thing i have noticed is the rent totals are shown wrong on the doors when renting. they are calculated right and subtracted from funds correctly but the actual cost of the apartment is a mystery.
3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Magic Wand question on: 2009 April 26, 20:50:08
i'm pretty sure that if you magic wand an apartment lot before moving sims in decreases the value of the whole lot permanently, but if you do it after moving sims in it decreases on a renter by renter basis.

oh yeah. so that you don't make the same friggin' mistake i did. the game generates them in the same order you make them i think. i made 8 boys, then girls, then boys and another set of girls. that's pretty much what my dorms looked like, all boys. i ended up killing off a bunch of males to bring in some diversity.
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bugged sim on: 2009 March 01, 05:58:14
changing the skin in simpe is very simple, just tedious. the same few steps over and over again.
using cas make a sim with the skin you want in the neighborhood with the b0rked woman, save to the simbin and exit. open simpe and go to the neighborhood with the intended sims. sort by sim description on the left side of your screen. open the test sim first. click on the last option (more). it will have a drop down box with several options, choose dna. copy/paste the number in the skintone box into notepad or something. sort by description again and open the b0rked sim. open her dna the same as the last sim. copy/paste the number for the last sim onto this sim. make sure to do all four lines. open your game and go to the house with the woman. you may have to change her appearence with the mirror or other preferred method. most of the time it works perfectly just doing this. if it doesn't fix it you need to open back up simpe. navigate back to the woman and click on the "more" again. this time choose the first option, character file. select age data on the left side. unfortunately you cannot copy/paste in this section and will have to type out the code where it says skincolor (dtstring). when you open her house you will have to use the mirror again but she will be fixed.

2) When making new dormies  and editing them in SimPE, can I give them majors, etc.?

I tried to do this the other day and once they started moving into the dorm, they all reverted back to undeclared majors. I don't know if it's a case of them not being properly initialized yet or what, but I am going to try again when my next generation goes to uni.
i did that once with a new 'hood. i figured them reverting back was sort of akin to the memory loss when you move in a townie. that way you get the full college experience. do they lose their memories when they move in?
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: n00b question: Why can't I see the Firing Range? on: 2009 February 03, 22:39:19
the site has been updated. the firing range has been rolled in with the armory.
8  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Changing Dominant/Recessive Values on Skin and Eyes on: 2009 January 28, 01:41:11

I have read that if you remove the single digit that determines the color in the hairtone line it will treat the hair as custom.

     00000001-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 (Black)  to   0000006-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 (custom)

Since I have not had the chance to try this method myself I pass it along as gossip.

custom is 6, right after grey. i changed all those streaked hairs from the store to the custom tab.
9  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: First Cousins Once Removed and Second Cousins Treated as Family on: 2009 January 21, 01:20:11
i've played a few households with this in, but like madam mim i don't have any extended relations to really test. i usually have these kind of problems at weddings and house parties which usually end up resulting in fist fights and tantrums. i threw several weddings with no kissing cousins to tank my scores. does this also change the way step parents and siblings react to each other? after brandi married lazlo, lazlo lost the casual option for dustin.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pregnacy and Apartments on: 2009 January 17, 16:21:55
neither me nor my sims can see the infants, but the ottoma twins can be heard from the apartments next to them. and that silly girl is still wearing her maternity clothing when she visits other lots. i expect that when she's already present on load but not when she visits.
11  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: January 09 on: 2009 January 05, 16:00:11
it's more than just the witch things. there are other al things in there, plaques and what not. i used simpe to delete everything but the witchy items when i figured that out.
12  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Sims have "zzzz's" while awake on: 2008 December 27, 15:46:11
it'll probably go away on its own in time. i had a kid play with bubbles before she went to school and she farted bubbles for the rest of the day.

they must be reading a required high school reading list to be that bored.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Stupid AL (or M&G) dialog boxes on: 2008 December 22, 21:58:05
inge has something that squashes that. let me go look. i take that back, it isn't hers but i did find it there. http://simlogical.com/slforum/index.php?topic=1852.0 it works great. i have forgotten i don't have vacation destinations attached.
14  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Asian Fusion Collection on: 2008 December 15, 19:26:32
Anyone else notice the single door shows wall with frame when viewed from one side?  Is there a way to correct that borkage?  I am using the version fixed for BV.
I looked in my BV game and didn't see what you meant, so I checked both versions of the door in M&G.  They all look the same to me from both sides. Undecided

Could you post a pic?

are you sure that nothing is in the way of the door? a wall lamp or curtains or even another door are usually to blame for that.
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Does AgeSimsCheat cause unfixable problems? on: 2008 December 10, 00:28:03
However, the hairstyle for her everyday outfit was a grey ponytail with a pith helmet.  I had to use "change appearance" twice in order to get the correct hairstyle (red french braid).  (The hairstyles for her other outfits were correct.)

i hope that's normal. though i have never had to do it twice, my de-aged adult sims will have that helmet if they are female. males end up with the close cropped hair with fronds.

now if you could only put the harvested hydroponic plants into the juicer. it won't be brownies but once you took a drink you wouldn't care. come on, who gets high on boot juice anyway. Roll Eyes
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do I tormented sim? on: 2008 November 25, 03:37:53
I am slightly disturbed by the clearly evil demon child in aubreylaraine's avatar (and not just because of the "sign" the child is making to ward off the good).  I approve (for what it's worth).  I think it's the greenish lighting that gives it that "horror movie" aspect.  Nice.

thank you. it's my darling four year old niece last winter, hence the weird lighting. out of the five of them she's actually the sweetest and most even tempered Cheesy. i was thinking about changing her out for her brother, the real evil demon child, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do I tormented sim? on: 2008 November 24, 18:35:32
i believe children can torment toddlers too. the girl from the ottomas rolled it for tommy the moment i dropped them onto a lot.
Sure that's not Tease? I have a girl who is a teen now and who is a regular little bitch. She's just barely considered mean by sim standards, but she certainly acts on it. She teased her little sister relentlessly when they were child and toddler. Now she torments. Luckily, the little sister likes it. Masochist.

i'm sure you're right. it's the only family i've played with children in it and i'm just remembering wrong. i forgot you could tease also.  obviously, i need to play more.

20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is my Strangetown strange? on: 2008 October 25, 16:50:01
maybe you could just deleted2 the baby and try again. after wiping the corrupted memories from the smith and curious families, wouldn't it be like the sim had never been born? i suppose you could do it with sim surgery, but i'm not sure what all that would entail with this particular situation.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is my Strangetown strange? on: 2008 October 24, 04:30:20
i don't use insim though. looking at its instructions makes me go cross eyed. i was just wondering because that's what i had done in lieu of using inteen* after installing al. i just can't stand that kid if it has no nose.

*before i get "the picture" for that, i do not kill kittens. i save it for my young adults. not much better, but they're of consenting age.
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is my Strangetown strange? on: 2008 October 23, 22:29:57
...but the baby looked like a normal human baby...  Is this weird?  Should the baby always be an alien, or is there a chance that it will be a human?
i believe the way it works is that since the aliens are homozygous their coloring will be dominant no matter what unless the skin is an ungenetisized(sp?) custom one. you should look into this thread http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,1423.0.html that will explain the weirdness involved with strangetown premade characters. this also leads to babies not having the right skintones.

Also, I just checked the baby's family tree and he has a mom listed, someone named "danielle greaves", who also does not look like an alien.  Just a totally normal looking girl that I don't think I've ever seen before in the game.
technically, pascal would be the "mom" in that tree. also, kyna is correct. danielle is a pizza delivery driver planted in olives' garden.

on a similar topic. is it a bad thing to back up his pregnancy to before the first bump? i did that, aborted and then reimpregnated him in order to utilize my pt replacement.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Custom butlers possible? on: 2008 October 11, 19:07:29
i reinstalled and have not had any farmers yet to need the pestacides. the few that are fortunate enough to have a small plot in the overcrowded asphalt jungle take care of pests quickly. as well they should if they want fresh food. but i do believe you are correct that they do eventually plantsimize themselves.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Custom butlers possible? on: 2008 October 09, 22:13:20
That wouldn't really accomplish anything.

that would sort of be what you're looking for. make the first butler a zombie via making him selectable. in the next household cancel the zombie and it will spit out another human butler, change him to what ever you want. it's a little time consuming, but anything worth while is.  on the other hand i think doing it this way gives you an extended "friendly" pie menu with all the options of a visiting sim.
i never thought to make the service sims anything else, but now i'm going to have a plantsim gardner.

Do you know if anyone has extracted a replacement for the missing downtown tower?  I guess the EAxoids used the same coding from the old one downtown on a new tower for BDC and overwrote the old tower that is suppose to be in the downtown.  Probably just a screw up on their part and the old downtown tower is supposed to still be there.
