Wait... so you are implying that the vacations to never never lands are absolutely efficient in terms of traveling?  If so, my god this game was made for you because I cannot stand the fact we have to run from point a to point b when there are perfectly fine dirt roads for bikes or mopeds to travel on.  If you think it is stupid for them to walk then this new expansion was made for you.

SPOILERS: Being at home and being 500 miles from your non-road-to destination are two entirely different situations. Amazingly enough, disliking that they run around the house DOES NOT imply i dislike that they run when appropriate!
802  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 January 13, 18:17:06
It takes more time to get across town and take a shower and get back than it does to just take a bath. :|
803  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 January 13, 08:45:05
Is there any reason my sims ignore their expensive bath tubs in favor of going all the frickin way across town for a shower at the gym when using Supreme Commander?

Like, is it a negative to balance out using supreme commander? Is it intentional?

It is really stupid. Sad
804  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Run, sim, run on: 2010 January 12, 04:53:34
I like the game to be...a game. I prefer the challenge of "UGH RUN YOU ARE WASTING TIME" and having to make upf or it. It's easy enough for the poorest of sims to live a constantly-in-best-mood-ever life as it is, with the weakest and most useless of furniture, and a simple change like walking instead of running makes that much more difficult. Running everywhere? Convenient...but it makes things too easy.
805  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Run, sim, run on: 2010 January 12, 04:11:24
So are you saying supreme commander breaks their movement type and they only run?

I have a suspicion that this is why my sims never just walk anywhere. I thought the game was idiotic by default...I should try that resetwalk thing.

All this time I figured it was dumb EA programming saying "RUN IF SOMETHING IS MORE THAN 2 INCHES AWAY UNLESS YOU ARE CARRYING SOMETHING"
806  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 January 12, 04:09:10
I have the no-route-wah-wah stand-around-like-a-dumb-skank animation thing turned on, but it doesn't have any effect. My sims still stand around like 15 year old spoiled bitches every time something gets in their way. I don't have anything else that would get in the way of this...any ideas?
807  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod causing red blocks of colour on: 2010 January 12, 04:07:46
Looks badass. Don't bother trying to fix it.
808  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 January 10, 06:15:19
Is there any way, with awesomemod, to date/woohoo teens without being arrested by psychic police and having your sim's life ruined? Statuatory rape is stupid in the real world and it is stupid in The Sims. Sad
809  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Merging mods to increase Performance! (Manually creating .dbc archives) on: 2010 January 09, 04:50:34
Awesome. Merging my sliders and hacks brings it to 18. If I could merge HP's stupid hair, it'd only be 11. ;-;
810  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Merging mods to increase Performance! (Manually creating .dbc archives) on: 2010 January 09, 03:48:31
I am so glad to have found this. I merged 455 files down to 45 files and my performance increased like crazy. I wasn't even aware it had gone down the extent it did. Rendering is significantly faster, and so is loading- two things I blamed on WA.

But one thing: Is it safe to merge anything, as long as it is merge-able? Hacks, slider mods? I ignored those because I didn't know if it would cause issues.

And what happens if you merge every single package into one? Does the game EXPLODE?
811  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 January 05, 05:58:47
Alright, since that stupid bitch Mangaroo at MTS is too god damned stupid to understand when a thread is or is not about awesomemod, I must ask here.

The "Dont get rid of objects when changing lot type" thing. Is it a cheat or a config function? Or is it both? Sometimes it might be desired, sometimes not. And are there any big deal side effects?
812  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 January 04, 08:08:34
Oh, I see. Doing it when you pause sounds pretty lame, then.

When it runs through the autosave files, I assume it starts over and overwrites the first one, etc?
813  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 January 04, 06:37:57
I'm curious about autosave settings.

-Does "Pausing" count as going into/out of build/buy mode? I am well aware the game pauses to do so, but does autosave recognize it as the same thing?
-Is it a noticable thing? Does the saving thing come up and everything, or is it hush-hush and hidden? Does it interrupt gameplay? I Pause quite often just to move the camera and catch up with what my sims are doing.
-Will autosave save to a separate file, distinct from my intentional save file? If not, is there a way to force it to? I would like autosaving, but not if it saves my game just for going and buying a new lamp.
-Does autosave/can autosave save before leaving for/coming home from adventures?
814  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod "Breaks" Sims 3 upon installation- competent edition! on: 2010 January 04, 04:59:48
Because...I didnt fuck up the game with CC?

It was a fresh install. It was working as-is. I had issue with 1.8 before, and since it was working as-is, wanted to know if I could get any help for the older awesomemod, made for 1.7. I didn't want to risk breaking it.

815  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod "Breaks" Sims 3 upon installation- competent edition! on: 2010 January 03, 04:59:33
Oh, no, it wasn't a matter of thinking the patch was broken. I just didn't want to risk going beyond what I knew was a sure thing. It was just laziness and an unwillingness to reinstlal on my part. Besides that I have to change the SKU of the base game to update and replace backup files to update WA for various reasons, and it could've caused problems.

Lucky lucky me however, as I am now successfully running 1.8/2.3, along with awesomemod.
816  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod "Breaks" Sims 3 upon installation- competent edition! on: 2010 January 03, 04:12:04
So I'm screwed?

I really didn't want to risk updating to 1.8 and breaking everything in general. Sad Though I did just discover the idiot system is having trouble with some of my CC and causing slower rendering so I'll be troubleshooting all damn night anyway. Gotta single the packages down.
817  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod "Breaks" Sims 3 upon installation- competent edition! on: 2010 January 03, 03:07:07
I had no mods when installing. None at all.
818  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod "Breaks" Sims 3 upon installation- competent edition! on: 2010 January 02, 23:56:36
Yes, I know. And my post is clearly labeled as having used the old edition, too. Smiley
819  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / AwesomeMod "Breaks" Sims 3 upon installation- competent edition! on: 2010 January 02, 23:49:09
Yeah.

I just installed WA, and it would appear AM is "breaking" the game on installation. Rather than get lost in the grammar topic the other guy made, I figured I'd just start my own.

DETAILS!

Windows 7 x64 Pro
Graphics card and all that jazz, I doubt that would matter. Radeon 4870, triple core whatever, 4GB Ram.

Game Versions: 1.7.9/2.2.8. The reason I am not using 1.8 is beause when I first installed WA, I had to completely re-install and it was implied that my issue may have been the later patch. So I left it at 1.7.9.

Other mods: Yep, but this happens whether they are there or not.
Framework properly installed: Check, all my other CC works flawlessly.
Old save file being used: Nope, completely clean install.

Now, here's what happens: Game loads. Load bar gets as far to the right as it possibly can, and nothing happens. Music keeps playing, spinny keeps spinning, that's it. Remove awesomemod and it works again. I have tried both the 1.7.9 version of AM(as it is what I was using before with 1.8 <_<Wink and the newest one. Both do this.

Attempted combinations and results:

All CC and AwesomeMod: Failure
All CC and AwesomeMod with Aweconf: Failure
All CC w/o AwesomeMod: Success!
No CC and AwesomeMod: Failure
No CC and AweseomeMod with Aweconf: Failure
No CC and Nothing: Success!

Files are in ElectronicArts/TheSims3WorldAdventures/Mods/Packages.

Any ideas? If I find nothing, I'll attempt an update to 1.8, but for now I would rather not.
820  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: I'm jonesing for my AM! on: 2009 December 18, 23:45:55
Plus I've yet to hear of a big problem with a patch that wasn't a CC conflict, which is not EAs fault.
This is unmitigated bullshit. The most famous example is piano comfort in TS2, which was broken, fixed, broken, fixed, etc. by multiple patches. There was also the maid's repeated cleaning of the fish tank, which followed the same formula.

EA is famous for publishing games that have bugs the community finds in less than a few hours, despite their piss-poor excuse for QA. Patches follow the same formula.

I wasn't talking about The Sims 2. I hardly remember The Sims 2 getting updated very often. The Sims 3 excels in the sheer number of updates, as far as I remember.
821  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: I'm jonesing for my AM! on: 2009 December 18, 19:36:56
I'm not blindly supporting EA.

I'm simply smarter than your average bear(bear meaning a hilarious euphemism for retarded teen who plays the sims) and understand that patches are not easy things and that it's far far better for them to exist and have some problems than to never exist at all.

Plus I've yet to hear of a big problem with a patch that wasn't a CC conflict, which is not EAs fault.
822  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: I'm jonesing for my AM! on: 2009 December 18, 07:36:24
So rather than update the game and release expansions, you'd rather the game stagnate so that you can use your CC without some minor non-life-threatening difficulty?

How DARE EA patch and update their games. The monsters.
823  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Forcing pescado's hidden Incontinence trait? on: 2009 December 17, 03:26:38
Ha, I was just about to post about how nothing seemed to happen.

That explains why! Cheesy hooray. Thanks. Incontinent sims for me!
824  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Forcing pescado's hidden Incontinence trait? on: 2009 December 17, 02:04:48
Oh, I didn't realize there was a specific cheat for adding a trait. Does that let you go beyond the limit of 5?

I'll try both, thanks.
825  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Forcing pescado's hidden Incontinence trait? on: 2009 December 17, 01:07:38
As in, giving it to a sim. On purpose.

I tried to use the trait modification thing with testingcheats, but it does not show up. Alas!

I am pretty sure it's an awesomemod feature, forgive me(or don't) if it isn't. I want to use it. But it refuses to show up in the normal menus(probably as a result of being *gasp* hidden.).

Halp? :3
