TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Building/Upgrading a PC for TS2

Unfortunately, Hegelian, cheap is the main consideration here. The only local independent builder here I've found hasn't even bothered to return my inquiring email, so it doesn't look like they're too damn eager for my business. I also cannot use newegg since they don't ship to Canada. Jolrei was nice enough to provide me with a few computer-building sites for Canadians, but (like I said earlier) I know absolutely nothing about shit like power sources and whatnot, and what I can afford to skrimp on and what I can't. Since a custom-built PC would not include an OS, the price I could afford to spend on it would go down dramatically (by the price of a WinXP OS disk). I don't really think I'll be able to get what I want in a computer for a mere $550 here (since I'd still have to spend $250+ on XP). Overpriced or not, that computer I linked to seems to be the cheapest PC that I can find that still has most of them items I want in it (I'd still be upgrading the video card), but now that I know I can't use a System Restore Disk on any pre-purchased computer, my price range has now dropped from $800 to $550. ETA: On the other hand, if I can get this Win XP OS disk on its own (and it's not just an "EP"), I might have a better chance.

Why don't you just buy a custom built pc? You can choose the component and/or OS you want, cost less, and generally way more flexible. I hate branded pc Because a). I have no idea what I could afford to skimp on and what I couldn't (WTF? How the hell should I know what kind of 'power source' I need?), and b). it looks to STILL be too expensive as it seems it won't even come with an OS, and c). I'm also looking to buy from a place that can offer me full customer support if I need it.

I'm sorry to hear that you may or may not be keeping up with this thread, Hegelian. However, I hope someone can help me out a bit on this score: I'm going to be buying a new computer in or around late Feb-early March. Unfortunately, it seems that every new computer comes prepackaged with Vista on it. I was thinking that I could simply use the WinXP System Restore Disks from my mother's computer (which is a Dell) to put XP back on it instead, but a local store dealer informed me that there may very well be an issue with the software it comes with not having XP drivers available. Would anyone be able to tell me if this computer would be able to take a System Restore XP installation on it with no trouble?

Going from your questionable lists, I would remove the following:
Males: Arash (you're right: a rash), Androcles, Blue (unless his last name is Daboodeedabodah), Frost and Ingman (I agree; both are better as surnames), Keme, Moi (the french would consider him a narcissist), Nakamo (too similar to the japanese word Nakama, in my view), Qasim & Qamar and Tyree (too ethnic for a random white townie sim, yes), Wapasha, Winoc, and Yefim (I just don't like these last three).
Females: Columbine (for obvious reasons, I should hope), Deserét, Mbala (too similar to Impala), Shadi (would you want to be friends with a Shadi individual?), Wilma (too Flintstones-like), Zhen, and Zuri.

I just did a preliminary test on crops. It took 6 days and 6 hours for 5 plots of eggplants (not in a greenhouse) to go from planted to being harvestable. This was in Summer. I'm willing to test anything else out if anyone's interested.

has anyone encountered the issue that an adult sim can no longer Find a Job because their "grades" aren't high enough, when they obviously don't have any grades?
I had that problem a while ago, and although I know it was due to a hack conflict, I can't recall which one. Try running the Hack Detection Utility to see what comes up.

I'll give it a quick try. Thanks Inge. Oh, and I'm sorry I couldn't promise you a first born sim in my game (since she was already committed to Invisigoth), but I have a second born with your name on her. ETA: First thing I noticed: its definitely TSS compatible. Excellent! Next thing: Theo's Color Binning Tool seems to work. Hurray!

Nope. Did a search on the Downloads folder for the word 'More' and nothing showed up. The thing is, I'm very meticulous about having my downloads separated (i.e. hacks in one folder, clothes in another, hair in another, etc.), so the only way it would be there is if it snuck in somehow so that's why I'm searching the entire Downloads folder.

Do you have jordi's LotFullOfSims hack? Because I believe if you have that you need to move them in before marriage otherwise you have errors and stuffs.
No. I was contacted about this before, and assuming the file would have the word 'larger' or 'large' in the file name, I do not have it and in fact the only way I would have it is if it snuck in hidden in another file.

Of that list, I went with Lyric, Nirvana (for a last name), Trinity, Hawk, Joy, Skye, and already liked Hope. I debated Jazz but it sounds awfully close to something else and then I couldn't think about it as a boy's name any other way.
The list of names is getting pretty long now. I wonder if I should double a few of the most common names, like John and Michael, to make them show up more often? I mean, in real life it's kind of like, "throw a stone, hit a John."
Hehe.
Yes, but the real world is filled with thousands upon thousands of people in each city (small towns notwithstanding), and I would hope that your Sims hood is not. It's up to you, though.

My sim men use Irish Spring, so I doubt they would feel comfortable wear crowns. They might if you called them 'laurels.'

* Immy stamps mark of approval. Actually, I need to make a stamp image... I'd love to see that. 'This image is Immy Approved.'

TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Immy Crown
|

For your Simming pleasure, I present to you a very fashionable Miss Immy crown usable for both genders (in adult only, apparently). A picture for you: Disclaimer: I did not create this crown; I merely altered it so it can be worn by both males as well as females (child through adult). The original version (Tasha) can be found here and was created by Rock Chick; the mesh was created at Pronup Sims.
