I manually toss it in the downloads folder for .sims3packs and then use to the launcher to get the full stick with the "download successful/already installed" yadda. However, the downloads aren't sticking so each time requires another "click to install", even though it says "already installed".

This could be a case of "doing it wrong", but I'd rather be verbally flailed a few/several times if it equaled an answer to this damnable annoyance.

Ever since the T-Mobile basketball set I've been unable to get sims3packs to stay installed. Yes, I have dragged them through src and decrapify. I've redownloaded them several times for testing to see if it was just caused by bad downloads. I generally run them first through src then decrapify. I believe I tried the opposite with also no effect. I've also tried just using the recompressorizer with no success; yes it was set to decrapify and not the regular compressing option.

So what the hell am I doing wrong?

Edit: After getting pointed out I shouldn't be dragging them both through src and decrapfity I tried unmodified ones being dragged into just decrapify. Then tried just src. Even tried the recompressorizer again. Nada.

My google-fu has failed me. This is a lame request for links to any simple tutorials about converting accessory custom tattoo packages into Ambitions custom tattoos packages. Baaa and free sporks in advance.

Thanks you two. Turns out I missed one of Chavvik's mods when I was taking them out. It was the reporting is more fun one of all things. Strange, I didn't know that Madame Mim. Delphy's Dashboard showed no sign of a conflict for the writing is fun. Guess, I'll make sure that's not there either!

Hi folks. I'm not sure what caused this problem, since it actually occured while playing the game. I was able to have my sims write novels, reports, etc just fine. Now, they can't. It won't even stay in the queue when I add it, much less have them try writing. I've had the family buy new computers and used "fixall" to see if it was just their particular computer or a simple bug being the cause. No luck. I tried searching, but didn't come across this. I don't have any mods/hacks that would directly affect computers besides Chavvik's morefun packs. Suggestions to fix this please?

I had forgotten about the Procmon. Well, I tried that and the first time it froze soon as I got through the loading. The second time I was alerted my computer memory wasn't big enough to handle this. Could it be the Windows 7 64-bit that's the problem?

Edit: Okay, tride running it again and it's blaming Sims 3 on the memory shortage, so the Procmon can't even register the events.

I've never really had any kind of lag that was beyond a sneeze's worth until really recently. That's why I'm wondering if it's just a reinstall needed, replacing the dcdb0 file since it's so damn huge, or something else entirely. At least it sounds like a reinstall really wouldn't do anything.

My game has suddenly taken up snail racing, and the snail is winning when I try to load my game. When it first starts up there's a lag of black page that's the first tip off. Not long, but I've never had lag there before. Main loading bar goes along fine. When I select a fambly to play though, I can find myself waiting over 15 minutes for the first lurch of process. This change has occurred in about three days. I've taken out mods I put in recently. I've deleted all the custom hairs. I moved in and out just about any kind of custom content I think is large enough to affect load time. I even ran everything that should be ran through the compressor again. I've had no luck in changing up the fact my game is so slow all of a sudden. So, I'm wondering if it is the dcdb0 file that's magically causing this. I don't think 587, 048 KB (aka 573 MB) would be a correct number for that file. I'm not sure when the size ballooned to that, but it seems off. If so, then it's a matter of if I can find a replacement file or if I just need to reinstall again? If it isn't the file, then any suggestions on why it became so slow all of a sudden?

Some of them offer instant wealth if chosen correctly. I just had a dog via chance card bring home 4,500. Granted, you might consider that chump change.

Baaaaaaa! I'm so glad I no longer have to have my Sims spend their money on fish that is not even their own.

My Outings are always odd for my Sims. They will range either from just one other sim to suddenly six. Thankfully that first Outing call tends to be quite small. I've had the children show up before, but thankfully never infants and very, very occasionally toddlers. Either way, unless its a very small group, the Sims are just never pleased it seems when going on an Out. I tend to have my Sim avoid them, with the exception of ulterior motives for Outings.
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Game Play Questions, How do YOU play? on: 2008 August 08, 07:02:29
Usually with the first generation born they tend to be het, after that it snowballs for deciding sex. I'm just stuck on sims carrying on their genes right off. After awhile though (could be the generation after, could be four down) I find myself actively deciding "Nope, not for you!" But then again, that's been not really happening ever since I discovered the "same-sex pregancy" hack and not gone cold turkey from it. However, I do notice my Romance sims have a tendency to be Bi. I think its because I just want to get that LTW of 20 Lovers over and done with, I swear I get too often. This time around though I'm just going to toss a die for the future generations to come once the current ones are done with college, and onwards. Het, Bi, and Homo will each get two numbers and whichever number it lands on will, thus, be that sim's sexuality.

In the case of pairing off, I must admit I try starting them off young in highschool for finding a good match. If there's a double bolt right off, its safe to say that will be the mate, 'less there's some competition. Or that LTW of 20Lovers, 501st Dates, 20 Woohoos. If that's the case, then its after that sim has completed his/her LTW (with the exceptions of the sims that have the personality of "Nevermind! I could get away with it!") and pick which one bolts highest. Otherwise the picking occurs in college, either by messing around with the one bolts that came along to see about upgrading their bolt or being on the look out for another Sim that s/he has better chemistry with. Some though do just find themselves hitched to a single bolt, but lord help that couple if someone higher came around.
