Title: Stupid AL (or M&G) dialog boxes
Post by: jsalemi on 2008 December 22, 16:14:16
I think this annoyance goes back to AL, but it may have started with M&G -- if you have a sim buy clothes at a store, they get the annoying "need a dresser to keep them in" message when they return home if there are only the AL closets on the lot. The only hack I have that affects clothing is the clothingtool from here, and I'm pretty sure that's not causing this dialog to pop up.

Anyone else seeing this, or do I have to dig deeper into my downloads to find something that's causing it?

Seems to be a game bug- I've been getting this since AL, even with a vanilla game. The built in closets can't have been correctly coded.

The message is meaningless, though, as there is no actual obstacle to the keeping of said clothes.

Not meaningless; that message is a subtle hint for 12s so they don't infest every fucking forum like "ZOMG HOW U ARE CHANGE CLOTHES???!!! HALP!!!!"

Yea, I know it's meaningless, but it is annoying. :)  I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something in my game causing it.

You know the dialog box I hate? Every fricking time I load my 'hood, it bitches that some of my EPs don't have supporting subhoods. I don't want a downtown or a shopping district or vacation 'hoods. Just because I reloaded my game, that doesn't mean I've changed my mind.

I think it started with FT. Pretty sure.

Actually, I think that may have started all the way back with OFB, though I really remember it starting to be annoying with BV bitching about hoods not having vacation destinations.

"Your sims have nowhere to goooooooooo!!!! Waaaaaaa!!!!"

<sigh>

When I load up my testing 'hood over and over again, that message quickly becomes annoying.  I've actually contemplated attaching all those sub-'hoods just to shut it up, which is ridiculous.

Great -- good to know something like that exists.  I don't generally start new hoods very often, but those who do a lot of testing will love that.

Oh, thanks for that.  I especially hate the message when loading my test-'hood just for a binary search ; this will come in handy.
