26  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Community Lot Skilling and Enthusiasm on: 2008 March 03, 20:00:28
My sims went from 0-8 on body when they went to the gym. But they did not gain any enthusiasm at all about fitness, sports, music or any of the other doo-dahs that were there. I did notice that other neighborhood sims were at the gym and they did get the "boing" effect for working out while on the lot. For those neighbor sims, I have not checked their own enthusiasm levels yet, though, as I have not yet played their lots since the gym visit.

Jelenedra: That is not new. I usually click it when it appears. I figure it means something like "mood boosts are broken -- click here to fix them" or something along those lines. I rarely notice any sudden or amazing change afterwards, though. I am sure it does something important.

ETA: Oh, and it isn't part of the Macrotastics box. It is part of the Lot Debugger.

Just in time for a brand new testing hood.

I had a teen criminal get the chance card about whether or not he should help out with the office party decorations. Neither option worked out since the girl who usually does the decorations got mad at him either way. But I was still more focused on how odd it was that a criminal was going to have to worry about office parties.

Since installing Free Time, I am no longer getting the option for enrolling  younger siblings. I know it has been a while, are you still supporting this hack?
31  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Installation Methods on: 2008 February 29, 19:18:50
NO. If you are on Vista then first upgrade to XP and THEN install Sims. The game is just about unplayable on Vista.

I like this hack for making boring/obnoxious/fugly townie elders die in my front yard. I don't think FT will let us do that just yet. Has anyone had an elder get the option to let 3 of his best friends die with him?

I, for one, still love this hack.
33  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Installation Methods on: 2008 February 29, 17:53:43
No. SecurRom is alive and well. Install from the disks, if you must, but do not start the game with the disks. Use a no-cd crack the first time and every time.

If you use the no-cd crack then you will not get securom problems. <Insert standard disclaimer here>

So what is it with the weekly, "Oh I had a great week!" pop-ups? How are those measured and what is their worth?
35  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Installation Methods on: 2008 February 29, 15:16:14
When I am installing the entire series all at once (i.e., after a reformat) I usually install one after the other until I am done. Each time you install one EP it will check to see if you are "up to date" on its own. You shouldn't have to do anything.

Remember to never run the game from the disk from whichever stuff pack came right before BV on. The first time you run from the disk it will install all kinds of fun spyware onto your computer and then you will hate EA forever and we will all miss you when you are gone.

I don't think it makes any difference whether you use the disks or the torrent.
36  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Alternatives to Microsoft? on: 2008 February 25, 16:20:57
Right. I already had a copy of XP so it did not cost me any extra. I just had to pay for a useless OS when I got the laptop.

And I did try Vista. I gave it a good long trial basis and finally just "upgraded". My laptop runs so much better now. I did lose some functionality with my video & sound because they don't yet have drivers for the hardware that are backwards compatible, but the difference in performance far outweighs the "inconvenience" of losing cool features such as turning down the volume on individual programs rather than all or none.

What about the early NPC?

I used Linux for a few weeks around Christmas. There are some programs that are supposed to help you with Windows programs on Linux, but they have mixed reviews. I think the one that is most loved is called "Wine" or possibly "WINE". It still could not run Sims 2 as of early January, but they were working on getting the base game to work. It is all community led, so I think they need more volunteers from the audience to test and report.

I was only using Linux to help out during my upgrade from Vista to XP, so I did not focus on making Windows programs work. I only learned enough to be able to download and install programs so that I could make a disk and get back to XP. I also took the time to download important things such as an IRC client and Dominions first. Tongue

In the absence of a better idea from someone else, I would suggest removing the nodormieregen, go into the hood and let some dormies get created. Then exit and put the nodormieregen back where it goes.

But hopefully someone else will have a better idea.

Have you tried creating YAs and then shift-click each dormie and choose "Make Unselectable"? I don't know, but that might work too. Good luck.

Look around the dowload directories. Start here Explore. Learn. Also read the RTFMs. They are really very helpful. Sometimes it is also a good idea to go look through the threads with the same name as the hacks you are looking at.

You should buy the bigger food dish. That way you will have a few more minutes in between required feedings.

Yes. That is exactly what I was thinking of.

This is good to know. But I am with Emma: I can't do it today. My head will explode.

You know what would be handy? If the Lotdebugger looked & acted like an endtable. Then it could be used as a stand for the sleepclock. Or it could be a nice desk or table that could still be used as a place to stick the computer. I don't put a lot of decorative stuff around my lots. I put the lotdebugger, macrotastics box, & the synctimer along the side of the house. Say... maybe they could be rosebushes or trees or something? That would be cool.

Does this mean that I can remove the "getincarpregnant" hack that I have carried around since 2005? Does anybody have any idea where I got that thing? I think it was one of the first ones that I went out in search of.

Batch creation will lead to a balanced neighbourhood setup, but your townies will not have any custom clothes or make-up. They will use the default facial templates (or overrides, if any) and default name list.

But you can change your default name list using Jordi's Live.package found here. Also you can use the directions to put new names in there, if you have some that you want to have used. All the instructions for that are in his thread, iirc.

It would be nice if you would plug the link for Sara's thread into the first post. She has all the same clean templates you have listed, but she also has the Cleaned & Fixed templates in that thread. Of course one has to really want them to go through 14 pages to find them, but they are findable. Cool

*V is considering slogging through and putting them all in one place but hasn't done that yet

Start here: Earlier in this thread

You will want to continue reading down from that point. The process is fully explained in the course of a few posts.

I found this by using the search button within this thread.

You were already told that this is not a support forum for SimPE. You were given a tutorial, complete with pictures and circles to illustrate the important bits, a link to a helpful site that can often lead a person to the answers to most questions and you were given very helpful advice from kuronue and from Invisigoth. All of your information thus far was confirmed by the President of the site Himself. He even gave you reasons why you should do as you have been told.

The only thing left for us to do is to come over to your house and do it for you. What's your address? One of us will come over right away and take care of this for you.

By the way, I assumed you were a little girl because you were whining and insisting that someone big and strong come and do your work for you. Now you are complaining that the job is too hard and too involved and why don't we make it easier for you. You still sound like a little girl. A little girl whose doll house is broken and who doesn't want to have to find the nails and the glue to put it back together again.
