26  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Let me be the first on: 2006 March 22, 09:16:37
Wooh, so glad the site is back. For the first time in days, I actually played my game, instead of skulking around here reading what was going wrong with everyone else's game...

Was quite the eye-opener, actually.... Cheesy
27  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How many times can a Knowledge sim Woohoo? on: 2006 March 02, 02:44:06
Sounds like he needs to hook up with Cassie Goth - in my game she wants to Woohoo in bed all the freaking time...
The woman is an absolute machine, and even Don can't keep up with her.  Roll Eyes
28  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Could someone please explain this error message/log to me on: 2006 February 21, 05:23:47
All right!

I suppose it would be unwise to do this just to see this happen?  Cheesy

I was just wondering the same thing - sounds like the perfect solution for my recalcitrant Goth lot.... Cheesy
29  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Reason for crashing? on: 2006 February 21, 05:21:25
I tried loading the lot with debug mode enabled, and it just crashed at the usual point with no error message.

I'm starting to wonder whether the Goth family is worth all this hassle...  Cheesy
30  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Reason for crashing? on: 2006 February 21, 02:26:08
I haven't deleted anything lately - deletion is not something I do too often, I usually hoard stuff, even after it becomes patently obvious that my Sims wouldn't be seen dead in whatever-it-was...

Thanks for the idea, though...  Smiley
31  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Reason for crashing? on: 2006 February 21, 01:56:28
Yes, groups.cache has been deleted, with no effect....

And no cellphones on this lot, or any of my lots, for that matter - those things drive me crazy, so my Sims don't get one...

No, I haven't evicted them yet, so am keen to hear any possible cures..... I think.....  Undecided

32  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Reason for crashing? on: 2006 February 20, 12:55:42
Gali, I took out the hacks folder - still crashed whilst trying to load the lot Huh

Anelca, I don't have any non-Maxis careers, and even when I remove the entire Downloads folder, it still crashes....

I suppose the next step is just to move the family out - I was really hoping to keep the family and the house intact (it's filled with family paintings) but I guess sometimes you just have to know when to let go... Cry

34  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Reason for crashing? on: 2006 February 20, 07:44:44
I've been having trouble with the Goth lot crashing - it's the only lot that does this, and even when I remove my downloads and hacks, it still crashes.

The only thing in the error logs (apart from about a million audio issues) is this -

ERROR GZPersist: Cannot load dependent resource with group ID = 6f000667u, instance ID = d2aad222ff0a72cau, type = e519c933u
.\source\GZPersistSerializer.cpp(204)
ERROR GZPersist: Cannot load dependent resource with group ID = 6f0005d5u, instance ID = f8c02f63ffb830c1u, type = e519c933u

ERROR GZPersist: Cannot load dependent resource with group ID = 6f000724u, instance ID = 3bdfa4c0ff3042aau, type = e519c933u
.\source\GZPersistSerializer.cpp(204)
ERROR EdithObjectModule: Found multiple global simulation objs of the same type [Controller - Visitor]
.\source\EdithObjectModule.cpp(2291)

I have no idea what any of these mean - are they related to the crashing? I'd really like to try and fix this problem without having to resort to moving the family out (and preferably without bulldozing the lot, too.)

I know, I don't ask for much, do I?  Wink
35  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What really drains system resources on a lot? on: 2006 February 02, 02:45:49
I remember reading somewhere that flower beds can cause slowness, mostly because they generate butterflies etc. The biggest pain in the butt for my computer is trees - I never, ever have a tree on any lot.
36  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nina and Dina bore me to tears on: 2006 January 27, 07:33:39
I was never interested in Nina/Dina until I used them to experiment when I first got NL. Nina paid $5000 for a blind date, and got - Dustin Broke! A mere child!!

Needless to say, Nina and her toy boy hit it off straight away, three lightening bolts, soppy poetry left on the doorstep etc. etc. Dustin's now in Uni, they're still madly in love and I'll probably be a nice Goddess and let them marry once he graduates.

On a side note, Brandi Broke is less than thrilled with that skank Nina corrupting her boy - she's furious with her and regularly slopes past the Caliente house to kick over the dustbin.

Dina got deleted.

Sim Estates has all the TS1 lots and families, if you're interested....
38  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Loading Screen Pictures on: 2005 December 06, 02:48:54
It seems only adults will hold babies in the loading screen, whereas teenagers will always hold their toddler relatives, and if a couple's married they won't hold the toddlers either...

Yup, I've noticed this - even when the teen is the parent of the baby! Lilith just got pregnant to Dirk Dreamer and had a baby girl. In the loading screen Mary Sue is holding the baby and she and Daniel are gazing down adoringly at it, even though the baby is actually Lilith's. Lilith is still sulking over in the corner, and Angela is being her usual suck-up self.....
39  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Does this make sense? on: 2005 November 11, 04:15:49
So that's what those weird lines are! I see them fairly often, and just assumed they were a result of my craptacular video card. So let me get this right, any custom object that spawns these lines is bad news, and should be given the arse ASAP?
40  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Please, come visit my TS2 Hall of Fame (Interview with Pescado already there) on: 2005 November 08, 13:50:00
Thanks for the link, Inge!  Smiley

I've only just gotten my head around the fact that Brynne's a girl - now you're telling me Motoki is a good-looking young guy?!!  Shocked *would like to see pictorial evidence*

Next you'll be telling me Pescado really isn't a grizzled old coffin dodger with a beard down to his knees.... Wink
41  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Please, come visit my TS2 Hall of Fame (Interview with Pescado already there) on: 2005 November 08, 12:32:55
I enjoyed reading your interviews, they were very interesting... Thank you for sharing them!  Smiley

Do you plan on interviewing anyone else (Inge, TwoJeffs, for example?)
42  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Welcome Crammyboy on: 2005 November 05, 02:46:40
Does Crammyboy's penis get it's own forum??

Welcome, Crammyboy! Glad to see you here Smiley

Motoki, you're an absolute legend.

Thank you for this - it's great.  Smiley

Great to see you here, Twojeffs!
45  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Another deleted goodbye on: 2005 October 28, 01:18:49
Oooh, computer nostalgia... makes me feel all warm and squooshy inside....

My first computer as a kid was a Spectrum, and it had a kick-ass 16K memory... I would spend HOURS typing in little programs (in BASIC, natch... those days pretty much marked the pinnacle of my ability to understand computers) and then I got an upgrade to 48K, AND THEN - ta dah!!! - a whole new computer, still a Spectrum but this time the 128K, which actually came with it's own built-in tape player, instead of having to bugger around hooking one up with my old one.

Ah, those were the days.... *stares meaningfully off into middle-distance, collects pension*
46  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Need help identifying a hack... on: 2005 October 28, 01:07:41
Thanks for the advice - will delete the offending hack and go get Clean Installer.....  Smiley
47  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Need help identifying a hack... on: 2005 October 27, 09:50:15
I've recently been cleaning out my stuff ready for when I install NL (am not-so-patiently waiting for it to be given as a birthday gift, in a couple of weeks!) and have been going through my hacks folder, but can't identify this one....

It doesn't have a name, just a long string of letters/numbers, and in Content Manager in the description it says -

Overrides Behavior Trees
Interaction - Check Working - TEST
Interaction - Maximize Energy & Comfort
 Interaction - Maximize All Needs
 Interaction - Maximize Aspiration
Interaction - Set Aspiration - TEST - UNUSED
Sub - Set Aspiration For Me
Interaction - Always True - TEST - DEBUG

Obviously I have a fair idea of what it does, but what exactly is it? Have I somehow gotten hold of a Less Awesome hack, or is this one of JMP's? The reason I ask is, all my other Pescado hacks all have proper names that explain exactly what it is they do, whereas this is just named a string of random crap which leaves me none the wiser...  Huh

Any input appreciated etc. etc.  Smiley

48  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Generating Professors on: 2005 October 21, 03:21:09
You could use the Insiminator to make the professors selectable, than age them down to adults... I do that with all my nannies, there's a lot less of the old-lady bladder complaints that way....

Don't know if that's the kind of thing you were looking for...?   Huh
49  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Character file question on: 2005 September 09, 02:09:29
Like a lot of us, I've been trying to do my bit to keep the number of character files down, I have all the no-regeneration hacks, and I don't mass-murder Townies just for the thrill of watching them die. Well, not as much as I used to, anyway.

BUT - one thing I do quite often, if a Sim is about to give birth, if I want that family to have a particular gender baby, I'll exit the lot without saving, then go back in and wait till I get the boy/girl that I want them to have. Same with adoptions - if I want, say, a dark haired child to fit in with the rest of the family, then I'll keep exiting and reloading the lot until I get one.

My question is, what happens to all these 'discarded' kids - do they add to the character file count?
50  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Question about relocating Greek House members on: 2005 August 19, 14:09:08
Right, well, I for one don't encourage anyone to run out and buy Nightlife. At least until I get it. Tongue

Yup, that's pretty much my game plan. Once I've finished watching everyone else stress about all the bugs it will inevitably ship with, followed by much ooh-ing and aah-ing as JMP unleashes his Awesomeness on the game, then, and only then, will I be persuaded to part with my cash.
