What is going wrong in my house?

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Everything my sims touch breaks!  I replace it or get it fixed and it breaks the next time they use it.  It's ridiculous - I can't even play the game.  I'm constantly replacing or repairing something.  Is it a bug or the game (NL)?

Maybe you should call a repairman and keep him from leaving the lot at all costs.

Hm...sounds like you've turned on the break inducer. The one that's activated if you boolprop testingcheatsenabled true then shift click on a character and select that option (I think it's called Break Inducer or something similar). Does it ring a bell? Or maybe you've d/led a hack that does it?

Sure does ring a bell *blushing* - I was looking for something in the cheats menu and I remember seeing that.  Thanks DrBeast Grin

Well, now you know what break inducer does. Wish I remembered how to turn it off though!

Spawn break suppressor

'k, makes sense. I remember a similar thread a while ago and kept the info about the inducer (funny that my brain sticks to trivial facts and forgets stuff I REALLY have to remember, heh!). I've never tried that cheat myself you see.

Well, I would have never thought of that (break inducer) being the problem because when you spawn it, nothing happens - there's no little pop-up item to give you more menu options to choose from.  Since nothing happened, I just continued scanning through the cheats until I found what I was looking for, completely ignorant as to what I had just did.  That's what I get for messing around. *blinks* I wonder if that's what I did? Shocked

I'm pretty careful not to click on any of the boolprop TestingCheats that look hazardous, but I've been having terrible terrible trouble with the bathroom in one particular house. In one sim evening, the toilet broke 3 times, the sink broke once and the shower broke twice.

I'll have to look out for the Break Suppressor. Oops Smiley.

Oops is right.
Thanks for bringing that up Vesca, and definitely thanks Doc for supplying the answer to one of my problems. I  use testingcheatsenabled very rarely; as a matter of fact, I use it only to reset a 'stuck' object. I do remember seeing the 'break inducer' though, and it's highly possible that I inadvertently did something with it, or to it... whatever.

Thanks again :D
