Which recolor are you talking about? you mean the texture I deleted ? (e.g the interior) or will both the interior (I deleted) and its related exterior (which I didn't delete) disappear the next time I load the game? I am seriously confused. I don't know why maxis want to make it so hard for us to delete stuff  Huh
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What downloads to delete to make loading times of game and lots more efficient? on: 2006 October 12, 15:34:47
Ok, maybe I am dense. But I have a lot of problems deleting in design mode.
You know how the texture for the objects are all linked together? E.g. car interior and exterior.
When I deleted an interior, i realise that an exterior will have a lot of html code (white background with black words...i was thinking it is html code) will appear. In which I can't delete because the bin option is no longer avaliable.End up having to delete the whole bloody thing.

how could i prevent such an issue? thanks for any help once again.

I am a bit surprised no one mentioned Yahoo Small Business. It has 5GB for storage and 200GB transfer per month for about $12. I didn't see such an offer elsewhere.
Their support should be pretty ok too. I never used it myself though.

Thanks! Joe! I wish someone told me of that editor earlier. I was just randomly deleting the walls and deleting all my terrains paints. I bloody hate those but they come with the community lots all the time.  Angry
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What downloads to delete to make loading times of game and lots more efficient? on: 2006 October 07, 18:10:47
Deleting a ton of walls seems to help speed up loading times. At least my computer didn't sound as if it is going to get a heart attack loading my game after i rid my game of about 200 walls and terrain paints.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What downloads to delete to make loading times of game and lots more efficient? on: 2006 October 07, 05:46:39
I had already deleted my entire makeup folder and with the advise of folks here, changed it all to Dylan's makeup.
As for meshes, I found it hard to delete my orphaned meshes because i don't know which clothes goes with what but you mean they make such a big difference in loading times?

As for skins, I deleted most of them. It seems that there isn't much more to be deleted but I still have 11000 files in my folder  Huh Angry
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / What downloads to delete to make loading times of game and lots more efficient? on: 2006 October 06, 16:31:55
Ok, i am sick of my ridiculous loading times for lots and my game.
I am on a major culling project and am getting rid of useless stuff. Any idea what kind of downloads have most impact on loading times?
Will deleting all my stupid terrain paints, walls and tiles help? or deleting clothes/hair/ objects recolors?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

15  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Where's my Refresh Rate? on: 2006 September 09, 18:54:31
In my experience with DirectX programming, all issues are driver issues. Refresh rate, in particular, is always the fault of the video driver.

Ok, I just realise that it is the refresh rate that is in the sub account that is broken. the Sims game in my main XP account (windowed mode) is working perfectly fine.

I have been trying for a few days to solve this problem to no avail.

Those hairs look so ugly. I won't want them  Roll Eyes
And let's not even mention how horrible the models look. Maxis seriously have no taste.
18  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Where's my Refresh Rate? on: 2006 September 08, 16:10:57
but are you sure it is the driver? I was having no problems with it till one day...it boo boo...why would it be a drivers' issue?
19  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Where's my Refresh Rate? on: 2006 September 08, 09:56:06
I did set my applications to run at the same refresh rate as my desktop etc. I put it at 70hz. But the windowed mode doesn't recongnise it now (used to recongnise it).... but now it doesn't. My game is running in sheets now...if you know what i mean. I could see the transition of each frame clearly now and it is hell  Angry

The above suggested methods have all been exhausted before I posted this.
20  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Where's my Refresh Rate? on: 2006 September 07, 17:32:35
It is very strange. The refresh rate in my windowed Sims game is greyed out and yet it is functioning properly in full application mode.
I never do anything and one day this just happened.

Because my windowed mode can't refresh properly now, it is very jerky when I try to use windowed mode. Any idea what causes my refresh mode to be greyed out and how can I solve the problem? Thanks.

It is a pain not to play in windowed mode  Angry

As usual, Maxis textures leave a lot to be desired. So I'm evaluating this package more in terms of new meshes.

I actually like Maxis textures, as a rule, and I've been having a hard time finding dressy clothes that don't turn all of my female sims into a freakshow- like the impossibly tiny waists of most of the Sim Chic meshes.  If I do decided to purchase this pack, it will be for the nice dress meshes.

Appparently many of us (incl me) like our simmies to look like barbies becausse I always hate how loose the stupid Maxis female clothes look.
But I can't wait to hear more about the new Glam male clothes. Look pretty cool (especially the ones with a tie and a sweater?)

By the way, not a lot of folks actually recolor FFS meshes  (clothes) on a regular basis, so I doubt Glam pack will change the situation.

How about the new adult males' clothes? I thought the ones with ties are pretty good. Are those problematic too?

 Huh
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Alien eyes not always showing correctly on: 2006 August 13, 10:46:04
Louis' green skin doesn't come with maxis black eyes. You need to let your aliens wear contacts or use default maxis black eyes (downloaded from somewhere) when creating the sims/changing the skin in SimPE.

So to answer your question, the eyes you see comes with the default replacements.
