Thanks Blue!! The link worked fine for me.
27  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: For those BBS-phobics....there's a new patch out. on: 2006 February 08, 22:04:33
And not everyone will be getting OFB, so they will bo doubt be glad the patch has been updated!

If the increase in PC stats is similar to what happened with each EP so far, then a lot of people won't be able to afford it - it's not just the cost of the pack itself, but the cost of upgrading in order to play it!... And you can't run multiple versions of the game like you could with sims1, where you could have different combinations of EPs stored on a second hard drive which you could load as long as all the registry entries were in the registry.  So installing the EP may mean for some people they will have to do without either Uni or NL and have a complete reinstall.

I've been wondering about this. Thanks for mentioning it! I installed the base game and Uni on a 2nd hard drive, but couldn't with NL. So yeah, I'll have to upgrade my computer before I'll even be able to install OFB. Wonderful. I guess I'll have to check out the patches. I haven't installed any of them.

9 gigs??  Shocked How long does your game take to load??

Umm yeah -wow!
29  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's so hot about Darren Dreamer? on: 2006 February 02, 06:44:01
Darren is really popular in my Pleasantview too. I didn't understand it either, but there may be something to the hot-starving-artist-being-attractive  idea. In my MATY hood Crammyboy is on everyone's mind. JM even wants him!  Kiss
30  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Sit-On-Your-Hands Challege (unrefined) on: 2006 February 02, 04:34:32
The freewill one sounds interesting. I did leave the Pleasants alone for about a sim day and when I got back the girls were dead and both parents were sick. I took it as a blessing since the Pleasants are pretty annoying to me. I may have to try this again.
31  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nina and Dina bore me to tears on: 2006 January 25, 01:29:41
Good idea Liss -cow plant food!

Nina and Dina are boring, but the Oldies are the worst for me. I had Nina marry a townie when I loaded the original game [oh so long ago] and they had two beautiful daughters who were fun to play, but once they moved out -ugh! -I hated going back to that house.

Thankfully, it seems, we have more options now to kill off boring or otherwise annoying sims.

She's the prettiest alien I've ever seen.
33  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Any Ideas? on: 2006 January 20, 03:13:34
Thanks for the info everyone! I don't like the tv noise either -especially the yummy channel.
34  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Outside garbage cans.... on: 2006 January 18, 21:07:40
Well it's great to read all this. I stupidly deleted a mailbox once and had problems, so I've never even thought of moving the trashcan just in case it too would cause problems. Now I will. Awesome!
35  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Now begins a lesson in pain... on: 2006 January 18, 20:54:26
Yeah -sounds like this is gonna be good.
36  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: STOP ASKING TO BE READ TOO! on: 2006 January 18, 02:30:30
I guess that's how real life is too. Hmmm.

Not in my life.  There is nothing like being read to by someone who does it well.  When it's really good it's like magic.

I still remember taking an english class some 20+ years back (ouch).  I think it was called introduction to fairy tales.  In one particular class, the teacher was reading to us.  It was incredibly soothing.  It must have had the same effect on the class, because you could have heard a pin drop.  She probably noticed our dazed look, because she stopped and asked if we would prefer to finish on our own and the whole class all protested at once that we wanted her to continue... and meant it.

Not sure what it is....something half remembered from childhood?  But being read to is great.

I agree with you, although no one ever reads to me. It can be enjoyable, though, I'm sure. I guess I was thinking how some [not all] kids prefer [or think they prefer] a video game to "reading". And some [not all] parents give their kids toys instead of spending quality time which could be for some [not all] a choice or not a choice. Maybe or then again maybe not.

My life is now changed for the better and I will seek out an adult to read to me immediately. Thank you.

I'd have to agree with gali -that's how it works in my game. The more fun stuff the less attention the kids need. I hadn't really thought about it before until I had one house with no games and the child was constantly asking to be read to. It got annoying so I added a pinball machine and that was all he needed.

I guess that's how real life is too. Hmmm.

Good job! I agree with everyone. Hopefully you'll be sharing more stories.
40  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: adults going to school on: 2006 January 17, 02:02:18
You're on to something Ancient. That would be an interesting option -Night School. It's been awhile but I know it's been talked about. I don't know if anyone has looked into it seriously, though.

Simsbaby -that's a great signature!
42  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: NOW what did I do wrong? on: 2006 January 13, 05:05:58
This is happening to me too. I can't find Gali. She's not in the male bin though. I'll have to look again.
43  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: All my plans Ruined! on: 2006 January 10, 00:43:11
That I've got to see. I have 2 couples with 3 LB each and they won't leave each other alone! So 4 must be something else!  Shocked
44  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: All my plans Ruined! on: 2006 January 10, 00:36:30
Are 4 lightening bolts possible? I thought 3 was the most you could have.
45  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Food facts(?) and Is it worth having a food processor on: 2006 January 08, 21:18:38
I almost always buy the food processor because I thought it saved food preparation time. This thread makes me wonder if it's worth it though.

Anyway, it seems that sims have a chance of burning food the first time they make it as well as other factors. For instance I played a sim with 10 cooking points, but she hadn't yet made spaghetti. The first time she made it [and pancakes too] she burned it. I don't know if that is something in the game or coincidence.
46  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: New Open for Busioness Video 1/05/05 on: 2006 January 07, 21:15:44
The one thing I really, really miss from the old game was the ability to grow your own food and have a farming family.

Me too! I liked having a 'garden'.

Hopefully, OFB will be cool. I'm sure we will all find something good about it and lots of bad things about it.
47  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: All my plans Ruined! on: 2006 January 06, 05:12:08
I agree with you Green, but I haven't seen 3 bolts yet either.

I need some visitors like that in Real Life!   Cheesy
49  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Why. won't. he. just. die? on: 2006 January 06, 05:01:35
Miscarriage - I suppose it's realistic to have that possibility, but that is sad.
50  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Damn glitchy fridge! on: 2006 January 05, 05:24:11
I haven't had any burglaries since NL either.

That's interesting -the idea of a higher chance of fire or need for repair the longer you have the appliance and replacing it when the return price gets low. Like it's getting old and 'faulty'. Hmmm....  never thought of that.
