TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: PS Radio Controlled Cat Attractor

I wonder is there any objects to be converted from newest AL Pets stories?
What do you mean with AL Pets stories ? Do you mean if there is something that is missing to be converted? If so the ice block (almost complete) and vending machine (won't work) are still missing. I tried putting this in my game and I noticed that the remote control car disappeared. It's nice to have this too. Thanks for fixiing it so that we can have both.
The RC Car is a self-referencing object, here is a tutorial that helped me a lot.

TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / PS Radio Controlled Cat Attractor - Updated. Added CS Radio Controlled Coconut.
|
on: 2008 September 27, 22:07:47
|
Here is the radio controlled cat attractor from PS. It has its own GUID and Group Number so it won't overwrite Basegame's Remote Control Car. Requires FT (Pets, not sure). Radio Controlled Cat Attractor: Sims, cats, and even dogs can play with, costs . Radio Controlled Coconut: Sims, cats, and dogs can play with. Both can be found under "Electronics > Entertainment". 10/27/08 Removed useless NPC. Fixed thumbnail (Radio Controlled Cat Attractor). Added CS Radio Controlled Coconut. Requires FT.

Mmm I don't know if I want a ceaper copy of the mask. What are the differences between them except for the environment-thing?
Here are the differences: • Price (CS costs §850, LS costs §8350). • Environment score (CS displays 8, LS displays 1). • Description and name (almost the same, you may not even notice). 1. The recolor of LS Reward AfricanMask (the blue one) doesn't show up in my game.
Also, having both CS and LS masks is the reason why the recolor doesn't show up. As CS is replacing LS, the recolor is made for LS not CS.

3. Also the price of the AfricanMask is weird, I looked in simpe and there it costs §8350 but ingame it only costs §850.
You may have Devilsrope CS African Mask, it is actually the same mask but with change of price. LS costs §8350 and displays "Environment" 1, CS costs §850 and displays "Environment" 8. Both have the same GUID, so CS is repalcing LS. I had the same problem but I assigned a new GUID to CS mask and used repository technique. If you want I might share my version.

TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: AL (Minor Bug) - Fixed "NPC & Townie Gun"
|
on: 2008 September 19, 22:21:24

What is the NPC townie gun?
The "NPC & Townie Gun" is an object which you can summon in debug mode ("Spawn > NPC & Townie Creator"); it allows you to make Sims into "Iconic Hobbyists", "Social Group Sims" (Tech, Gearhead, Socialite, etc.), "Garden Club Members", "Vacation Locals" (Tropics, Asia, Mountain, Toursits), etc. Or generate "new" ones for your hood. For example you can generate NPCs such as the gardener, maid, butler, food judge, etc. Any chance for fixing the social group townie making, too? One of those groups is missing in the options.
I didn't noticed this, I'll check and see what can I do. Edit: I just checked, and the interaction to make Sims into "Social Groups" DOES shows all of the townies, no missing options. Are you sure there's a problem with that?

TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Proper Hobby Enthusiasm for Decorative Items - (Updated 2008/11/22)
|
on: 2008 September 17, 01:57:07
|
When FT came out Maxis modified most of the decorative items (sculptures, paintings and such) to build "Hobby Enthusiasm", surprisingly they updated most objects. But they forgot some, here they are. If I forgot an object, let me know. Description:Decorative items (paintings and sculptures) build proper "Hobby Enthusiasm" when viewed, for example cereal box builds "Cuisine Enthusiasm" instead of "Arts & Crafts". Installation:Unzip, move to: "Documents > EA Games > The Sims 2 > Downloads". Changelog:v1.0: Initial release. (2008/09/16) v1.01: Made compatible with Ld Darcy's Centerpiece Enabler. (2008/09/23) v1.02: Added HHS items, craftables, collectibles, mounted fish, and more. Updated holiday reindeer (2008/11/22)

Description:Elite and Surfer coat hangers work as the coat rack from Seasons, Sims (teen or older) can change into/remove outerwear. Installation:Requires Seasons and Teen Style Stuff. Unzip, move to: "Program Files > EA Games > The Sims 2 Latest EP > TSData > Res > Catalog > Bins". Screenshots:

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Updating CC for AL
|
on: 2008 September 07, 21:27:55
|
Similar to this thread, I decided to start a new one for AL, so what items need to be updated for AL? I found that TVs and Stereos need new BCON and BHAV. Here are the new BCON and BHAV, add them to your package and change group number if needed. How to use "Updated Resources" file
Open your custom object in SimPE. Sometimes you only have to edit one value in OBJD, but in most cases you have to replace pie menus (TTAB and TTAs), replace/add other resources like BHAV, BCON, OBJf, SLOT, STR#.
Download "updated resources" file attached in the post. Resources are grouped by folder. For TTAB and TTAs, there is only one resource for each, so there will be no room for confusion. If there are multiple resources in one folder, you can find the correct resource by the last group of numbers in their filenames.
Take a look at one of the BHAV files for changing table.
42484156-00000000-FFFFFFFF-0000100C.simpe
The boldened part indicates the Instance number. Select Behaviour Function (BHAV) in the Resource Tree, find and replace the matching resource with the same instance number in the Resource List window. If you select the "Instance" tab in the Resource List window, you can sort resources by the instance number. If there is no matching resource with the same instance number, right-click on Resource List window to add them.

TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: CS Stove, Careers, and More! - Now with Hot Tub! 09/30/08

09/04/08 Fixed placement. Tub can now be placed near walls. Sorry for the constant updates, but I just noticed this so I re-updated CS Hot Tub, it can now be placed near walls as any other raised hot tub. Originally its placement was similar to a sunken tub, so you couldn't place it near walls. I believe this is the last update for the tub and most items. However I'll post AL-friendly versions as soon as I get it (next week).

You know what, that's probably it. I do have that barstool but when I was testing this I had no other CS items in the game (had just installed AL). And when I did place it with moveobjects on, there were no barstools (obviously) but there were their shadows on the ground. So anyway, this is probably what was wrong!
Thats strange because like every foodstand the CS one has the Asian foodstand barstools as default when placed, you have to remove them and place the real ones after placing the stand. Or has Richief modified the BHAV for the foodstand to use the CS ones? I actually modified BHAVs with CS Barstool's GUID instead of the default Asian barstools, they fit better.

knightguy, I'm unfamiliar with the 7z format in which your Elder Enabled hairs are posted. I seem to remember that it's another file compression format, but the Stuffit Expander on my Mac doesn't recognize it. Is there a specific de-compressor that I need to have to open 7z files - a de-compressor that works with Macs?
You need a decompressor that supports .7z files, here is one that is compatible with Macs: Download. It also supports .zip files.

Can someone update the spooky lights? I would do it myself, but I have no idea on how to work with lights. None of the lights give proper lighting.
