51  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Multi-Sim Lockable Door? on: 2007 June 14, 04:40:43
Hello again all.

One thing im sick of is any sims using any room.
I know you can lock a door to any 1 sim or all sims, or non-family members etc.

but im looking for a door hack that will allow me to Lock one door...
and only allow 2 sims (ie parents) to enter. (and NPCs maid etc)

is there suck thing?

or am i stuck with having to place 2 doors and lock them to each sim?

regards.
52  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Create More UNI based Sims? on: 2007 June 13, 00:12:17
I've made custom sims in YACAS many times and added them to the townie bin with the teleporter shrub, and that at least works perfectly fine.

I have since done this... I made 5 YA in the YACAS... but i used the shrub to turn them into townies from the normal parents house in the main n/hood not from a Dorm using one of my sims sent to uni... should i have made them townies from the UNI DORM... or does it not matter i made the YA's townies from the normal n/hood???

regards.

Sweet... Thankyou SaraMK and IAmTheRad.
I'll try this when I get home tonight.

Also, will more dormies allow them to move into dorms?
Or is something conflicting causing no Dormies to enter/claim a room at a dorm

Regards.
54  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Create More UNI based Sims? on: 2007 June 12, 05:23:05
So is there  a way i can create dormies?
besides taking out the nodormieregen?

EDIT: im not using the nodormieregen, only the notownieregen
55  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Create More UNI based Sims? on: 2007 June 12, 05:13:52
Simmers, I've been trying to find away to create more UNI sims.

I've started a new hood with all the empty templates etc, so I dont get any of the maxis sims etc.
I has also added new CAS faces, and mods to help in that way.
I have used the NPC Townie tree to make down townies and townies. and thats fine.
I have made with the tree 30 townies (and dont really want any more random townies)

But when I move my sims to Uni into a dorm... no other sims come to take up rooms etc

Is there a way I can create just UNI sims to socialize with and enter the dorms too?

Regards

Does any one know if any of these mods are available any where?
58  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / The Ultimate Hotel on: 2007 March 07, 19:55:44
I've noticed that Squinge and InSim, had now updated for Seasons, both a Sleep on Community Lot, and Use Showers on a Community Lot.
Now for my question(s)

Can any one out there point me in the direction of creating The Ultimate Hotel
 - Like Vacation for Sims 1, I want to send my familes to a Lot, and have them be able to book a room
(By using a door hack or something, which will lock the door to the family and Cleaning NPCs)

 - A way that the family is made to pay for their say, either by hour or by the days spent there.

 - A way that they can park their car in a drive way like a normal house lot.

 - A way in which to set the lot with a set weather (ie. Winter, Summer etc)
(I have found a hack at MTS2 that is a buyable of the item from aspirations, and has been hacked for unlimited use)
(But id like to be able to set that when i build the lot (or update a lot) and always keep it winter)

 - Disable the mailbox from billing the family on the lot for living there. (as OFB will make them pay, if modable)

[I'm sure I have a lot more question and requests, but this would be a good start]

I know I'm not asking much, and i don't expect to get answers straight away, as im sure im not the only person looking for something like this, this might be a good project for some of the modders to work on.

And if any one else has any wishes for a Hotel/Vacation Lot, they could add them here, and maybe we could get some where with it?
59  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Selling House And Leaving Furnishings on: 2007 March 07, 18:54:51
yeah thats an awesome way of doing it... its not a hack... but it works well.
only draw back is that u have to exit the game and then run the Clean Installer.
But thats a good way of doing it.
60  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Wanting to Re-Generate my Townies. on: 2007 March 07, 18:42:48
I saw that hack.  Its called Sims Boutique Clothing Rack.  I tried to download it, but the file was bad.  Winzip would not install the file.
I just downloaded the file then. and opend it with WinRar 3.62, and it extracted to a dir fine.
if need be... i can put the package file here. im not sure if thats allowed though.
61  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Christmas crap, 2006 edition on: 2007 March 07, 17:45:32
I have both The Holiday Christmas CD... and the first one that came out... I only install the Holiday Stuff though.
I would have been good if the people at EA could have written into Seasons for people that have the holiday Pack to allow a Xmas day or something.

thanks heaps for your help notveryawesome, in this post and others.  Grin
63  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Selling House And Leaving Furnishings on: 2007 March 06, 19:27:35
I read some where (very late at night) that you could move families out, but still keep all the items in the house, eg. Furnishings, plants, etc
I have a house that has a few sims in it... and its pretty much the same way it was when I built it, and I want to move another family in.
And move them out.
And i believe there is away that a dialog box can come up with a mod or something to ask if you wish to keep the items.
Is this possible, I have done a search her and MTS2 etc, but no luck, not sure what to search for.
Regards.
64  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Wanting to Re-Generate my Townies. on: 2007 March 06, 16:33:40
Open up the hood in SimPE, locate the sim's description, open the character file, select Facial Structure from the resource tree, highlight and extract the 2nd instance, then highlight and replace the 1st instance with the .simpe file you just extracted. Save and you're done.
Just to ask another question to add to my long list in this Thread already... but is there doco on how to do this correctly?
So I dont end up screwing all my townies up.
Thanks
65  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Wanting to Re-Generate my Townies. on: 2007 March 06, 15:56:29
If i was to create a new hood with the empty templates...
when creating Downtown and Uni hoods... if i choose one of the pre made ones, eg Blue Water...
will that create new townies and NPC with new genetics...
or will it use the already existing ones from the Pleasantview Blue Water Towines?
66  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Wanting to Re-Generate my Townies. on: 2007 March 06, 15:50:43
default face replacements + SaraMKs "empty templates" + new custom hood = a empty hood that will end up with better looking NPCs/townies/dormies
And alot of Family's in the Bin and Houses in the Bin, Community Lots in the bin, Dorms in the Bin... and 5hrs of setting up... and bam!
no more premade n/hood!
67  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Wanting to Re-Generate my Townies. on: 2007 March 06, 15:19:50
That last line sounds like an insult for some reason.
Ment in that way that... whould that be in another post or topic?
No insult intended apon anyone.

And for myskaal thankyou for your help... ill look into that.

Regards.
68  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Wanting to Re-Generate my Townies. on: 2007 March 06, 13:58:58
Thanks heaps for your quick reply.
Do you think that SimPE Pets ed. would work for this if I have seasons... or should I wait for Seasons ed. to come out?

Again another question I thought of... NPC's is their away I can kill them off... so that they generate with the new faces?
Or is that a whole you basket of cucumbers?
69  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Wanting to Re-Generate my Townies. on: 2007 March 06, 13:22:20
Ok... first off let me start by saying, i feel the pain for Solowren, I didnt crash my hood... but i had the HDD die on me, and I had to start again. (Which now i have done again, after fresh install)

Secondly, angelyne, yes a tutorial would be awesome for us n00bs that are not quite sure what the heck they are doing.

After reading the topic from top to bottom im still a little lost.
I too want to "make-over" my townies etc, (as this seems to be the best way).

Starting a stop and having them come in to buy things and get that face reco they always wanted is an awesome idea, then i could set a goal of 10 townies a night to change, until they are all done.

Ok, now for my question(s)
 - If I use either the "Shop Idea" or the "Shrub Idea" and DMA's Tool, to make the townies better looking with the new tempates.
what do i then have to change in SimPE so that if i was to multiply with them, their babies will look pretty as well?
(I'll have to wait till SimPE for Seasons comes out before I can do this)

 - If I'm using the new Face Templates, and CAS Templates, any new townies that are made will both have better faces, and this will be copied to SimPE, hence thier faces will carry onto new borns? (Also any new townies that are made from this moment on, will be good looking too? No over sized noses or chins?)

 - Is their anything else that I will need to make my townies good looking, and stay that way?

 - And just another question I thought of after previewing this... NPC's... is their away I can make them look better? (Using the same way as above?)

Sorry for all the question, but I'm just trying to understand the best way of doing this, before I do it.
Any help would be awesome, not more awesome than you though.
70  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seasons: Baby Genetics on: 2007 March 06, 12:47:37
thx heaps Jordi... i shall give this a shot when i play tonight. w00!
71  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seasons: Baby Genetics on: 2007 March 06, 06:41:49
My question is,
A: if this is the case where do i find this mod/hack/app?
B: Was this issue fixed with the Sims: Seasons?
C: Am I just talking crap and this was never an issue?
Just remember to save your game before running it, because it exits the lot and kicks you back to the neighborhood view when it's done.
So before I want to have a baby... i should run this mod?
and every time after i save and exit... i should run it?
im sure there is doco about it? any one know where?
its 2:28am here... im kinda out of it i think, just came off a 5hrs sims session.
72  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Seasons: Baby Genetics on: 2007 March 06, 03:40:13
I believe I've read in places that there is an issue when having babies in The Sims.
That if u play the game, have a baby, save and exit, then play same family again and have a baby,
that the genetics is the same for the next baby, or something like that?

And to fix this us simmers have to do a Randomizing mod or something like that.
As you can see I'm not quite sure what I'm talking about. So maybe some one can help.

My question is,
A: if this is the case where do i find this mod/hack/app?
B: Was this issue fixed with the Sims: Seasons?
C: Am I just talking crap and this was never an issue?

At the moment I have started a brand new game. and im working up a Sim i created
And am yet to have any babies due to this issue.
73  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: No Stray Respawns on: 2007 March 05, 17:19:20
Does this work with Seasons?
and is there a list of hacks/mods that work with seasons that were made for Pets etc?
Im new to the MATY, and I'm having difficultly finding hacks for Seasons that worked in Pets too.
74  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: 45o Objects on: 2007 March 05, 14:41:01
You need to use the < and > keys to rotate things at 45o.
ARR! i had a feeling it was something like that... here i was holding every other key combination.. (ALT+CTRL+Mouse, ALT+SHIFT+Mouse)
all it was doing was putting more then one there.

Thank you Venusy... i shall try that tonight.
75  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / 45o Objects on: 2007 March 05, 14:26:13
Ive done a couple of searches here and there and can only find Pets/OFB stuff.
I know there is a cheat to allow things to be place on a 45 degree angle.
But after install Seasons... the cheat for me doesn't work.
It doesn't give me an error, when i type it in and press enter.
But when i place a chair or table or couch... it doesn't allow me to put it on 45o
Is there a new cheat for Seasons that I need to type?
Regards.
