Pssh. In my day, we had to walk to school, uphill and against the wind both ways, through the snow, while the Japanese would try to bomb us! You kids don't know how good you have it.
and let me guess, you all you got to play with was a brick that you kicked around... and on special days... you might get a news paper to wrap around it to soften the load? well thats the stories i used to get told when i complained about school... of course im sure they were all BS. another one that was told to me. was the only day they got off was when the teacher died. purely cause they had to wait for another one to come up from another town... all these BS stories of the yester-year.

Check to see if your objects.package is set as read-only. If so, change it before installing the new EP.
So if it is Read-Only... then change it to NOT Read Only? Or If it is Read-Only... leave it that way? And what does this cause if left the other way to what should be done?

Option 1: Backup, then copy mods back in, and see what happens Option 2: Wait a month or two for the hacks to be updated etc.
Option 3: Remove all Mods and Custom Content, and play it the great way Maxis/EA wrote it... give that about 5 minutes (including a long boot time) and you will be pulling your hair out in no time... Why did the entire queue just drop; why wont they do what i told them; No! don't go and play drums... Why did my baby come out back when both parents are white and come from a white up bringing... why why why why.
Personal I think ill go with a bit of option 1 and 2...
To add: its good when a new EP comes out, something new to do... and thank god we some peple that are more awesome than you, and I that come up with these awesome hacks/mods. other wise... we wouldn't know any different to the base game. *holds breathe and passes out*
10 more days... woohoo! (on a tropical island)

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Family Genetics With Custom Skins

You know, there's a mod on MTS2 that allows for tatoo overlays. It stays on even when sims are naked and b/c it's separate from the skin it doesn't get passed down. Sounds like it's what you're looking for.
Yes i did have a look at this... but from what i saw... it seemed to be computer specific. I might be wrong but when i looked at it breifily the package its self needed to have the added/created overlay, this making it had to share the skin.

If both parents have a custom skin (with genetic value unaltered, i.e. = 0), you have a 50% probability each. You can, however, modify the genetic value of those custom skins, and they will behave like jsalemi explains in the above post. EDIT: then in the game change the skin to a tattoo'd one... this wont affect the genetics... will it? It will. I have tested it, and even if it sounds silly, when a baby is born the game will pull the skintone value from the skin the sim is actually showing, and not the value stored in DNA. I pointed this out here, if you want a longer explaination. After reading your post in the other link, something came to mind... did you use the FFS Debugger tool to fix the first born? I didn't read any more of the post, but that came to mind... im not sure if that would maybe fix the issue? Would It? and if not... whats the heck point of having DNA when it doesnt even us it anyways! GRR. Hmmm... now im going to have to think about weather or not i wanna or could be bothered using custom skins! if they dont pull from the DNA. (i was happy to change it after they were made to keep it. but now it doesnt pull the right info. thats grrr!)

Cheers for the reply. Ill see what i can find in the tutorials.
One more question: If i build a sim with a normal default skin...
then in the game change the skin to a tattoo'd one... this wont affect the genetics... will it?

Ok so I have asked around about how to make skins with tattoos. and found a couple of tutorials. and think i can work it out.
Now before i get into trying to make my first skin... i had a question.
1. If I create a or 2 Sim through the CAS with a custom tattoo skin (or other) and have children, what skin will the childen take on?
(I'm using helene's default skin replacements atm, and will use these to create my tattoo skin) NB: i will only use this for personal use, unless i get approval to share the moded ones.

No Townie Respawn is a seperate item from No Stray respawn. The two should not be related and removing the no-Townie-respawn will not affect strays.
This could possibly what i'm missing from my downloads... i will check tonight to see if i have the No Stray respawn in there... if not ill find it. cheers

Hi Guys...
I'm using the anti-gen townies and dormies mod in my game. and i want to remove the townie one for a moment to create some townies.. but doing this creates pets as well... is there either a mod i can install to stop townie pets from being created, or what would you suggest?
Regards.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / change outfit-no spin hack (Not In UNI Hood)
|
on: 2007 June 19, 00:29:00
|
I have installed this hack and works no problems when i play my Season's lot houses. but when i was playing a YA through UNI, and was changing clothes... i noticed that they were spinning when changing. There was also a couple of other things i noticed to, but cannot remember what, but i do know that the "change outfit-no spin" was one of them.
Is there a way to fix this? should i be putting the UNI hacks into my DIR? as well as the SEASONS one? at the moment, I'm using only SEASONS hack/mods. I cannot seem to find the file in the FFS dir... but i know that its in my game, (they dont spin) except in UNI I haven't checked what happens when down town yet etc.
If any one can advise that would be great, thank you
