In a bit of a follow up to the "vanishing merchant"

Its possible the Sim selected to man the register by the game got stuck on the way to the register, it seems the decision process were the Sim is selected to "run the shop" is done by picking any Sim at random the first time your Sim visit that location.

Also it seems they are "bugged" or show a very idiotic behavior as the Sims that man the register will make a bee line to the register the moment your Sim arrives but since they are regular Local Sims they live at their homes so they could be stuck at their houses trying to reach the register I think one found solution is deleting the register and put a new one so the "select merchant" process is restarted.

The only one that seems to work as one can expect is the special merchant but then again, he have no "store" (AKA register) to man as it just hangs around the "Market lot"

So, it's like emo grass.

More like Command & Conquer ... yes, lets put a Westwoood series references in a Maxis series game, after all both were assimilated and destroyed by EA.
78  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Be Careful Discussing Awesomemod! on: 2009 December 03, 20:35:41
There are two checks, one with the Launcher and one with the core rules.

There does not seem to be a build-in CD check on the game executable so AM is hardly a "no-CD crack" since its not "cracking", it simply disables a flag on the core rules that goes looking for the disk.

79  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TSR HAS DOXED YOU! on: 2009 December 03, 00:28:50
Some times its required, Amazon for example is going to require billing information and "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" is not going to work.

I understand since TSR does have a subscription system they will require billing information and just proves how screwed up their staff are when they just disclose that type of information, especially since that happens to be a crime.

In fact I wonder why nobody bothered to inform PayPal about TSR disclosing that privilege information when it happened, I might not like Navesea "pirate list" but at least they keep it at username only.
80  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TSR HAS DOXED YOU! on: 2009 December 02, 05:43:47
On the other hand this seems to be information coming from hacking PettitionOnline and put up for reasons beyond human, subhuman, unhuman and bestial understanding.

What the hell were they going to do? go to EA with the names and Email addresses from that petition and ask then to do what? its not as if EA cares about TSR anyway despite their illusions about that.

It makes no sense, it seems Thomas spends a lot of time to clean up A TWAT messes because she is special and unless she allows him to stick it in her pooper on a regular basis I cannot understand why the hell he puts up with that crap.
81  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TSR HAS DOXED YOU! on: 2009 December 02, 05:32:17
I think that Privacy Statement is pretty standard, the issue comes from liability and TSR shown again and again they have no control over their staff.

One thing is when someone from EA leaks information as that person is employed at EA with a contract were there will be a liability damage clause so all damage will be paid by that person.

TSR on the other hand ... I doubt they have contracts with their staff, at least LEGAL contracts (not verbal contracts) so they can run amok without a care in the world, in fact that seems how A TAWT acts since every time there is stupid from TSR it comes from her.

-Shopkeepers seem to be on service 24/7 that can potential break a Egypt mission were we have to get inside a house owned by two shopkeepers that naturally never go back home.
83  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Are there enhanced body modifier sliders? on: 2009 November 18, 20:23:31
http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=377975

Here are some new body sliders. However this is still in beta.

Those sliders work fine with AM.

However in that same tread there is a attempt at altering the CAS UI to have a new "body" button that does require a core mod in order to work and from the look of things it have been successful.
84  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Delphy's New Breast Slider Hack on: 2009 October 31, 02:31:52
Well I think a replacer can be done but the problem comes from the fact each clothing have the mesh included in the package as I think its possible to correct the Maxis mesh, its not that easy when people cloned it for their re-textures.
85  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: NVidia screws ups, why updating drivers is a bad idea ... on: 2009 October 21, 16:58:20
@Jordi :

190.62 drivers (October 5, 2009 release), GeForce 9600 GT (of course since drivers are entire ranges its going to affect more that just the 9000 family) and The Sims 3 (I did mentioned I re-installed it).
86  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / NVidia screws ups, why updating drivers is a bad idea ... on: 2009 October 21, 16:38:34
I am making this note because for some reason about 2 days I decided that maybe I should update my card drivers ...

And then when I started up the game it crashed, it crashed without even showing me the intro movie or anything ... it just crashed at start up.

Then after trying to fix it (meaning re-install DirectX, re-install Media Player, re-install The Sims 3 and re-installing K-Lite) I decided to take a leap of faith and rollback the NVidia drivers.

Now it works.
87  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Delphy's New Breast Slider Hack on: 2009 October 13, 23:08:02
So making a note of what meshes have their weights wrong is... apparently the height of stupidity, according to you?  Roll Eyes

No, I seem worst ...

Also FYI that did not strike me as "making a note" but the usual bitching and moaning and also its not as if Delphy did not conducted a open test back in September 24  were on the next day the following list was posted.

tops-
afTopShirtTee_Crew - badly deformed mesh
afTopJacketSuit - minor mesh changes
afTopJacketUpCollar_sport - minor deformed mesh
body-
afBodyDressWeddingGown - odd mesh distortion
afBodyDressWeddingGown_necklace - odd mesh distortion
afBodySuitWideLapel_designer - minor mesh changes
afBodyDressTight_halter - minor mesh changes

To which he replied ...

"Thanks for the testing everybody! Unfortunately, I can't do anything about the non-optimal meshes since it's obviously a bone mapping issue with them."

Also its as if the actual release did not mentioned that:

Note that these do not work for all clothes. Some female clothing will not appear as larger breasts - this is due to the way the clothing is built. Additionally some meshes/clothing will look strange with larger breasts - this is not something I can fix, and, again, is due to the way the clothing is built

Note two things:

1) The one issue that can really be addressed is with the game supplied meshes, one have serious issues as the other six have some minor issues.
2) Issues with 3rd party custom content are issues that who created said content have to resolve.

Also I know he is working on a height slider and a butt slider as I expect the same issues happening with the breast slider will happen with the butt slider but I expect the STUPID is really going to show up with the height slider because the animations will look wrong (like in TS2 with the skeleton height code) and people WILL point it again and again.
88  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TS3 was to include weather. on: 2009 October 13, 18:03:52
Depends on what you think "play" is supposed to be.

Its impossible to go beyond the abstract since creating scenario means full customization goes out the door, you stop having a Sim and having a Player Character and there is a reason to why that approach did not work so well in consoles (that were scenario driven).

A Sim cannot act as a human, its all smoke and mirrors and attempts at AI have lead us to wonderful things as "stand here and look at the pretty city wall for the next ingame 4 hours" element of Oblivion Radiant (more like Retarded) AI, Gothic II ended up achieving the same effect Oblivion was going (without the random conversations as its very important someone seeing a Mudcrab that are horrible creatures that should be avoided whatever they can about ... every single day) without such thing as the Retarded AI.

Also does things REALLY have to be spelled out on the computer screen? what is the point of seeing the faces and the topic being gossiped about when the actual impact is zero and its all window dressing? the bubbles should be feedback for the player.

TS3 right now is bare bones but its not as if they can spend 10 YEARS developing the game, as it stands its playable ... maybe not in TS2 base but more that TS1 base.
89  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Delphy's New Breast Slider Hack on: 2009 October 09, 23:33:55
]Yes, and worse some hair distorts wildly (ie the conversion of Nouk's Donna hair which is availalbe at GOS and Mod the Sims) if certain sliders are adjusted more than the tiniest bit.

There are two options, either the slider is wrong or the mesh is wrong.

Now can you guess what is wrong?

Someone said the only clothing mesh with issues was the t-shirt, but I have issues with the goth dress as well.  And not just with making the breasts too big; it looks really, really strange on my sim who's breasts are smaller and higher than normal.

You people are stupid, some meshes HAVE problems because THEY HAVE THE WEIGHTS WRONG!
90  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Delphy's New Breast Slider Hack on: 2009 October 08, 01:38:15
... For your Sims that you want to have really ginormous bazoombas, you'll just have to resign yourself to the fact that you can't put them in t-shirts without reduction surgery later.

There is really only one that is truly screwed up, the rest works more or less (some dont even work) and its the mesh fault, a replacer with the correct weight assignment would fix the problem since, again, its that mesh fault.
91  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: New AwesomeMod Request Thread on: 2009 October 08, 01:28:30
This behavior surely isn't nearly as "retarded" as pedophilia, is it?

Its illogical.

If you want to blame someone then blame EA from such stupid careers, like Political were everything above level 6 is "there can be only one" ... if you want to argue that people might redo the careers were the "there can be only one" issue goes away or only happens at the top of the career and this ends up being a possible deadlock for such efforts is one thing but that is not what you did right?
92  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Computer shuts down without awesome mod, with awesome mod it crashes on: 2009 September 27, 02:52:39
TS3 is fairly easy on requirements, TS2 had heavier requirements at its time.

The problem comes from people that ONLY play The Sims and keep trying to use really outdated machines to run TS3, honestly its better off getting a desktop that you can upgrade over the years that a laptop that is a technological dead end since it cannot easy be upgraded as a desktop.

In your cause the cause is likely the processor, I take its a AMD single core 1.8 GHz as TS3 requirements are of a 2.0 GHz processor (and they do recommend a dual core), my guess its shutting down because the processor cannot take it as the card seems fine but The Sims always demands more of processor and memory that it does of cards.

Custom content -- anything not by EAxis.

Like Fallout 3?

By the comments on Sexy Sims the mod acts like the Dark Side of the Force, once its been used it will forever rule the Sim nude outfit.

Actually EA is more that happy to supply the rope they will hang themselves with ... that is what happen to Origin. In Maxis case they resisted to the bitter end, EA only did see then for SimCity with The Sims being a unexpected success.

Actually KotoR did cut a planet, Sleheyron that never made it beyond concept stage.
