Avenida Sims
77  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No eating burnt food? on: 2006 November 03, 04:46:02
Why? Burnt food doesn't harm them, or make them sick. I think the only downside is that the hunger boosts are slightly decreased. Why waste perfectly edible food?

Ahh. I see. Cheesy Not so knowledgeable about the Midwest. I'm more of a coast person. Ignorance runs both ways I guess.

Isn't Missouri landlocked?  Huh I can't imagine what one'd be touring. The local lake?

Heh -- that taxi looks like one of those 'Duck tour' things that big tourist cities have. Smiley

I thought only Boston had that?
81  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Anyone have Simcribbling's skintones? on: 2006 November 01, 20:48:41
I've got someone sending the originals, so a big thanks. Smiley

And thanks to Motoki for the Shiny Sims link. I like the edits - they'll make great defaults, I think.
82  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hidden Assets on the SimExchange? on: 2006 November 01, 20:04:15
It's what happens when you put a "realistic" skintone on the exchange.  Better to ask around to see if anyone has the skin to send to you.

That sucks...Ok then. I've edited the original post.
83  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Anyone have Simcribbling's skintones? on: 2006 November 01, 18:20:26
Does anyone have SimCribbling's "Self-Makeup #7" skintones that they could send to me? (http://louis.new21.net/skin/Louis_main_03skintone.html) Since Maxis has to be puritanically prudish, I can't d/l it from SimCribbling. It would be much appreciated.

I'm specifically looking for the tan and dark tan, so just those tones would be fine. Smiley

How did you manage to drop a lot in the middle of a road? And does that look like a pond in lot view? Cuz that'd be cool for country houses and the like.

Johnny Cash?
86  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Virus at Simchic - enter at your own risk on: 2006 November 01, 17:47:57
But if you just take the entire site offline, that would do the trick, wouldn't it? I'd think taking a site offline to prevent infection would be more important than letting pple know that the site is down for repairs.

Speaking of Japanese restrooms, can you believe how CLEAN they are? Even the public, airport bathrooms look clean enough to sit on. Although I'm so used to nasty American bathrooms that I wouldn't dare.
88  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Disturbing Discovery on: 2006 October 31, 13:31:40
I've never observed this, but I play w/ the sims on mute and just turn on the radio, so I've yet to hear little boys "tinkling". Heck, I'm not even sure what the xylophone sounds like ingame, lol.
89  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: There HAS to be a better way to find orphan meshes on: 2006 October 31, 13:28:23
I organize by creator. And I put recolours in the creator's file instead of the recolourer's. That keeps everything nice and easy to scan. I have 7Gigs of content, all neatly organized that way.
90  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Amazing CC site on: 2006 October 31, 01:25:09
Gah, that site is in Moonspeak. I don't understand it

Uh, no, it's korean...and there's enough english - downloads!, hair!, male! - to navigate to the correct files so...what's the problem?
91  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: SimPE and OMGPETZ! on: 2006 October 30, 23:12:39
And it looks like Peggy, XMSims, and Rose started binning their hairs, so you just have to family them together now.

Which is just more work for me, esp. on the rose hairs, b/c her newer meshes are constantly 4-6,000 polys, and I don't want those spawning on the neanderthal creatures that are some of the townies. Why waste my processing power on them, I say.

It takes me ages to actually put a hair set into my game, but it doesn't seem to slow down my acquisition any - just makes it that much more frustrating. Yesterday, it took me like 3 hours to properly fix 7 hair sets. The longest time is spent fixing the damned colors. My biggest peeves - sets w/3 nearly identical blondes, fuschia/magenta reds, and grey-looking blacks. And Peggy always sticks in 4 brown variations, which I then have to sort and chuck/keep. Why can't they all just stick to 4-6 natural colors and a grey?

There's a cheat for that:

boolprop ControlPets on (or off)
93  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: SimPE and OMGPETZ! on: 2006 October 30, 15:17:18
Ah! The reds always piss me off. I have to edit about 90% of all the red hairs to fix the color. Sometimes it's too brown, but, esp. in the Asian hair cases, it's way too magenta-red.

I guess it can't be helped, since in Asia the closest Asian pple get to red hair is hair dye, but sheesh, it's not like it's hard to google a celebrity or something.
94  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Cat with Stuck Pregnancy on: 2006 October 30, 15:03:45
Boolprop maybe? I do think testingcheats has pregnancy options. Not sure though.
95  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: SimPE and OMGPETZ! on: 2006 October 30, 13:45:06
Lol. Wow. 31. What a hoard. Cheesy

I've been trying to whittle down my hair folder, but I just can't let go of a huge chunk of my hairs, and then I'm surfing PMBD at the same time? Gah! Every time I try to delete hairs my d/ls folder balloons.
96  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Dull looking objects on: 2006 October 29, 18:24:57
I thought that card did have hardware T&L? Mine does (the X1800) but that particular toilet is still dull in spite of the pre-rendered Maxis thumbnail. I solved that problem by refreshing the thumbnail with control right click and now I have a dull thumbnail too.  Grin

What? You can refresh thumbnails? I didn't know that. Thanks!

Woah, I think that post might set a new record for post length - even for you. Wink
98  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pet Adoption = Rich Sims Only on: 2006 October 26, 21:24:11
Surely has a point though.

If you think it costs too much, don't buy it.

Yea, but the comparing animals to inanimate objects point was stupid. Like, what else are you going to compare them to for an analogy about purchasing? Slaves? Everything else we pay money for IS inanimate.
99  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Adopted old dogs die immediately upon adoption? on: 2006 October 26, 18:14:35
Maybe you could reset their age immediately after adopting, using a hack/cheat of some sort.

Wow. Here come the sweeping condemnations! Roll Eyes
