TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Vampire Biting Habits

What is the difference between a townie and a NPC then? afaik both are NPCs Well, they both fit the literal definition of an NPC, in the fact that they are non-playable. The difference in TS2 is, NPCs are workers, and a new one will spawn if you kill/marry/vampirize/devampirize/etc. it, while Townies are purely to provide extra Sims for your Sims to interact with, and if you have the correct hacks, will not respawn.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / The "Where Can I Find This CC?" Thread - Because you fail at Google
|
on: 2007 September 02, 17:55:13
|
Place all "were do i find this" posts in this thread. If your request isn't that obscure/retarded, someone may even give you a link!
CURRENT "DO NOT ASK FOR THESE" ITEMS: The Inteenimater, TwoJeffs' Triplets & Quads Mod, SimPE, the InSIMenator, items that are obviously fake. NOTE: List is intended as a guideline only, and is not complete. Generally, if you can find it on the first page of a Google search, don't ask for it.
New Policy: posts will be purged periodically, leaving only the the most recent requests.

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Stop me from buying Seasons -- AGAIN

What I'm having trouble figuring out is why you wouldn't buy a DVD drive, given that you can now get a DVD drive for less than the cost of an EP. EDIT: Ah, now I see. Still, it's pretty stupid that EA doesn't allow Amazon.com to ship internationally, given that I recently received this email from Amazon: Dear Amazon.com Customer, Amazon now has the hottest new video games available for delivery to your country. International customers can enjoy Amazon's Pre Order Price. If the Amazon price drops between your order time and release date, you will receive the lowest price.

Um, it's attached to the first post in this thread, right near the top.
When I click the link I get a '404 Error'. It couldn't be just me seeing that.. Never relinked after one of the server crashes. I think you're recommended to use Syberspunk's hack for this now, seeing as it is more up-to-date.

Also: don't request things in here. If you want to request something, do it in The Podium (for requested fixes to bugs) or Retardo Land (for stuff that barely anyone would care about). If your question is more of a "where can I find this?" style question, post it in this thread.

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Influence meter gone nuts
|
on: 2007 August 02, 00:19:24

EA decided to store the number of influence points you have as a 16-bit integer. Unfortunately, this means that if you get over 32767 (?) influence points in one shot, the number loops back around and becomes negative. If you can figure out a way of removing the perk, then do that, otherwise just don't fulfil any more LTWs with this sim.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Poll: Stealth Stairs

Since there's no option to vote for the unawesome who have no idea what the heck they are, I abstain. "Stealth stairs" are a the result of a building technique using boolprop constrainfloorelevation false, allowing builders to make a short, one-tiled stairway to the floor above with modular stairs (rather than using the usual 4 tiles). Lots of people use this technique to create "elevators" without OFB.

The problem is caused by Crammyboy's normal clothes mod. That thing hasn't been updated since 2005 and is NOT compatible with Petz and/or Seasons. It also horribly conflicts with the Visitor Controller, which does the same thing and IS updated for Petz.
Warning added to that thread, I'll add in a link to the Visitor Controller once you've completed the move.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: TWOJEFFS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING - Go here for the Triplets & Quads hack
|
on: 2007 July 26, 02:36:15

On the bright side, it should reduce the load on this server quite a bit. Nope. Any potential benefits from TwoJeffs leaving will be offset by the number of people linked to here from an external site, and register just to ask where they can find these hacks. I mean, if I thought the number of people begging for Crammyboy's cock was bad, then this has the potential to be far worse. All concerns for the health of the server aside, I hope that both of you have good luck in your future endeavours.

The only way to have a decent garden without hitting maxmotives about once every five game seconds is to have no more than two of each tree and two plots for every item your gardening Sim can plant. And compost anything and everything that can't get up and walk away under its own steam. Trust me on this one - I've been playing the game for about a month now with all the EP's, and I played TS2 when it and Uni were out for over a year. (I love my new computer!)
In this period of time, you haven't tried Macrotastics, have you?

When trying to initiate the Lumberjack Song interaction, one of two things will happen. If your game is set to English (US), the game will crash shortly before the line "I put on women's clothing and hang around in bars" to protect the children from any deviant behaviour that this line (and several subsequent ones) would encourage. If your game is set to anything other than this, the interaction will go ahead as normal, including a change of costume for the lead lumberjack. The lead lumberjack will then proceed to the nearest bar, and will try and flirt with anything with a female gender preference.
The game will forget which of the 3 "social dance activites" (Smustling, Tai Chi, and Lumberjacking) it is supposed to be doing at any given moment during one of these activites. Expect to see Thriller making it into Tai Chi lessons, woodcutting via meditation, and most people walking away from the Smustle after realizing what they're dancing to/singing along with.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sim Music Extraction? I can has a music?
|
on: 2007 June 25, 17:49:00

Music from later expansions has ID3 tags encoded, so that you can find out titles and artists by playing in any audio software, such as WinAmp, iTunes, or Windows Media Player.
Correction: everything other than the base game has ID3 tags, with the exception of the music in splash.package, which is a .xa file, and as such does not have the tags stored in it for any expansion.
