Title: potty training problems
Post by: Ness on 2007 October 31, 07:11:16
Having a problem potty training toddlers - not all toddlers, not all houses.  An error occurs, just as they are about to finish...  They gain the ability to use the potty, but get no memory and the want is unsatisfied.

Error logs attached.  I'm confused.  Work of the non-awesome?  I don't recall putting in anything new since quite a while before this problem started.

Problem does not exist in my game. There are no difficulties with housebreaking toddlers in my game and the code stack does not appear to match Maxis.

I blame the non-Awesome. Death to all Nesses.

Crud!  It's an intermittent problem, tracking it down is going to be a real bitch.

I would suggest looking at the potty used as a possible variable. It would seem inherently Ness-like to not be content with a single potty!

Is that a suggestion that having more than one potty is a bad thing?  I do usually only have one, except in cases of too many ankle biters.  Triplets in bladder desperation straight after aging prompted me to chuck some extra ones in.  Otherwise, just potty recolours, no other potties.  Only other thing that has anything to do with potties is twojeffs toddler potty fixes.

No, what I was asking is if you were using nonstandard ones.

Nope, no nonstandard potties.

The thought of spawning billions of toddlers to potty train to track this down is terrifying.  I think I'll just live with it.  It's not exactly game-breaking, especially given that it doesn't happen every single time.  Annoying and frustrating, yes.  Game-breaking, no - or at least I hope not!

Are TJ's potty fixes all up-to-date?  Easier to forget now they aren't here.....(BTW, what have you done to get JM's congratulations?)

(BTW, what have you done to get JM's congratulations?)

Considering the circumstances of the last time Ness was congratulated (with normal moar fight actions following), I'm wondering if we actually want to know.  :)

Must have missed that while I was away!   :(

Embarassingly, there does appear to have been an update to the toddler potty fixes that I have missed.  Way back.  Strangely, it got missed in my checks of all updates with the installation of BV, and possibly even seasons.

As for the newsbox...  same as last time, don't want to talk about it.

Glad you found the problem files, as I said it's easy to forget to update TJ's now he's moved!

This issue is confirmed to be the work of the non-Awesome, and therefore closed. Death to all Nesses.
