1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 Released - CAW Out on: 2009 December 16, 22:27:29
I have a retail copy of the Base game, and the reloaded version of WA. After the patch it now tells me that my base game and expansion are incompatible and to please patch. However the launcher says that my game is up to date.  Here's the game version it shows in launcher: 2.3.33.003002

WTF?
Same problem here. I even did a fresh re-install hoping it would solve the problem, but I still get the "please patch" message.

I still keep getting the core mismatch warning. First I thought it was the patch (1.6.6), so I installed the new one. I also removed all other mods but I still get the warning.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I put everything in the WA directory, if that matters.

I have the same problem although I don't know what caused it (I thought it had to do with them coming back from vacation, but I'm not sure). Both my teens were the same age all of a sudden (and yeah, it's something that really bothers me)

Tasha, I play on epic lifespan and don't want to age anyone anytime soon, I gave his sister a life fruit to eat so she's a bit younger again, but don't want to do this again as I don't want her to be significantly younger than her friends either.

Has anyone found a food that will help in having multiples. A "cheesecake" type item?
I read that watching the kid channel while pregnant may result in multiples. Or get the fertility treatment but I wouldn't recommend it if you plan another pregnancy after that one, all you'll get is twins and triplets
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Priceless - A reported Sims 3 event that brought tears to my eyes on: 2009 June 01, 19:23:03
Well, at least in TS3 it can go the other way.  I had once had a sim over who wanted to use his own laptop.  The thing is my house only has one desk, which one of my sim is already sitting at, so the sim pulled out his laptop, put it on my table and couldn't use it.  So he got stuck for a bit and then it is time for him to leave, so he walked out without his computer. I click on the computer and it works as if I had bought it, so I just let my sim have that laptop.

Well, a female sim I was playing invited a male over to build a relationship with and when he arrived he had a toddler with him.  I went into buy mode and bought a baby bed so that he could put it down while they interacted.  When it came time for him to leave he walked out and left the child!!!  Now she's stuck with this toddler which she will feed but mainly just ignores.  I invited him back to try to get him to take the child but he won't.
lmao have you tried switching to his household and see if the toddler is missing there? If so, maybe the guy can just pick up the kid when you play him.

@tizerist: that's so cool. post some pictures when you're done with it.

I will post a couple more but I made them smaller, so that should be ok.

7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Story Progression Toggle: Is it borked? on: 2009 May 31, 12:55:56
I have now moved some of the adult kids out and turned free will on low. Now all my sims just stand around and story progression still doesn't work as it should. Two days after I turned it on low one of the sons adopted a baby (he didn't even have a job yet, just moved out of the parents' home) and some couple got married  Angry

But shouldn't it work regardless of whether free will is high or low? Those settings are global, I don't want my sims to stand around waiting for every order, especially in large households. I assume low means they will only do something when their needs are in the red and otherwise just stand there, no?
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 30, 08:16:41
On one hand you have to make an effort to build and maintain them, even if it's between sims living in the same house (unlike in TS2 where sims living together would eventually build up the relationship score by nattering over breakfast and the like).
Another thing that bothers me. Apparently sims cannot serve meals anymore, all you can do is "call household to meal" which is a problem in larger families. In TS2 I loved to build up their relationships over breakfast/dinner, in TS3 the first ones are finished when the last ones are still waiting in line for their food  Angry
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Story Progression Toggle: Is it borked? on: 2009 May 29, 20:26:34
Story Progression turned off doesn't work for me at all. In 8 sim days I've had 4 births, two deaths, one wedding, one new family in town and two moved away (including the one I made and played earlier - nice  Undecided )
And I checked, they really are gone.

I have noticed along the lines of the wishes for a girl or boy, if my sims roll one, I usually keep it, and then they have always had what they wished for. My sims do not eat, because I use the cheats to keep their motives maxed, so the food doesn't affect them, but I haven't seen one of those wishes be wrong yet, so maybe there is more to the wishes.

I've only had one conflicting wish from both parents, mom wanted a girl, and dad wanted a boy, I clicked mom's first and a few sim hours later, dad rolled up the wish to have a boy, and I clicked it as well, but remembered that I already gave mom the girl one, so I deleted his wish. They had a girl. Of course that could just be coincidences in my game, but it hasn't failed yet.
Coincidence. Both of mine wished for a boy and had six girls. No watermelons involved either.

My mother lived in East Berlin until she was seven (leaving several years before the wall went up). She has told me all my life that 'people' is Berlinner slang for penis, but I'm not about to argue the fact with an actual Berlinner.
Huh I live in Berlin and have never heard that before. I guess it had to do with the fact that your mom was only seven, it may have been a word for kids to use.
