They were called something else in the UK, maybe Ancient sim or Inge can remember what it was?  As I said earlier, I remember my niece having some, around the time she was crazy about Adam and the Ants!  They looked really cute with ra-ra skirts!

I'll have to take a look at those dolls!  But the teddy I really like is a tatty and obviously well-loved one, but I can't remember where it came from!

I wonder why they didn't make the antenae as an accessory? Surely they could have learned how by now from the modders out there. lol.
They would have actually been usefull then.

The antennae look really cute on the toddlers.

I don't see myself using them on anyone teen or older, though.

Probably this mesh by Natrobo:

http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=59807

(with and without the hat)

Natrobo's got a ton of good children's stuff and his whole page is worth looking at :)

and recolors by tiggerypum

If not, well I have those and I think they're great :) There's also a set on TSR that's only decorative but they have a chair and a baby bed and a doll shelf that go with them and they're really cute.

Edit: oh, oops, I'm sorry. I shoulda read before I posted :(

Which part of the UK are you from, Emma?  They were definitely called something different in my part of the country!  Just wish I could remember what it was!

Richard Lovelace?  ("I could not love thee dear so much, loved I not honour more!")

Oh, and the Twelve Days of Christmas and the whole medieval Lord of Misrule came from Saturnalia too!  since the ordinary laws, such as they were, did not apply at that time, rape was the order of the day - I somehow think that idea was created by men too!

I've never heard of any of these festivities Luper-whatchamacallit or any of the others (except "the 12 days of Christmas," which I never understood since we really only get one). What are they, and what is this mysterious Saturnalia thing everyone is talking about?

I think people who are bitter on Valentine's day would be bitter anyway. My friends and I have been giving each other chocolate and teddybears. I think it is good to have holidays to remember the people we care about, whether they were originally stupid and meaningless or not. On that note, I like the tacky glasses and pajamas. They are amusing.

Emma, I think I was in primary school when those 'antennas' came out.  That's what we called them, although I have vague memories of them making a return when I hit my teens.  Then I think we called them "zebedees" after the character in 'The Magic Roundabout".  Most things were called 'thingy' back then - as in "you know, that thingy that so-and-so's got".  We were very  articulate in my neighbourhood, obviously.  I think those 'wibbledees'  (as in the wibbledee wobbledee thingys) hit the shops after a big campaign for Smash, the processed dried mashed potatoes..mmm yum  Undecided.

"Zebedees"!  Of course!

Ellatrue, Saturnalia was a Roman Midwinter Festival in honour of the god Saturn, and never really completely died out (obviously in those dark winter days, especially in this "sceptred isle" people needed some relief from the winter darkness!) and in the Middle Ages became the festival of the "Lord of Misrule" when all laws were suspended.  I believe that in the end, because obviously things got very out of hand, and the Church no doubt heartily disapproved, they simply invented the Twelve Days of Christmas to turn the whole thing into a Christian celebration.

Well, my niece is originally from Croydon - no doubt that's where I heard that.

I live in the Midlands too, but Stoke-on-Trent, and I have a feeling the kids I was teaching back then used yet another name!

That's nice and thanks for posting but, is it me or are there too few chocs in that box?  What did they do - eat some of them first?
