I've been wondering about that too, especially since I have had problems in the past. I had objects that would not work correctly, like the three tiled Maxis table, and all my Maxis double beds, until I deleted custiom meshes that were the source of the problem.

I heard somewhere that Nightlife got rid of the constant A+ cheering thing.  I would be interested to know if this is actually true.  Are you sure it's the hack that's working and not a feature of the game?  I'm just curious. Smiley
I know someone earlier said their teen didn't do it, but my child did. However, I do have kids who aren't doing it... Maybe it's only their first A+? That would actually be pretty cool and realistic. Also would show that *gasp* Maxis removed a design element because they listened to their fans! I'm gonna watch for this when I'm playing again.
I'm gonna leave my game hack free for a bit, make sure people are actually opening up the code to check for things that might conflict, then saying it's okay. Don't want to miss out on a feature of the game because I didn't know it was supposed to happen.
Someone said they couldn't scope out a room, I couldn't either until I had the flirt option come up on someone and used the interation to check out that individual sim for the first time. I didn't have any lightning bolts anywhere or any sign of the new attraction system at all until I used that option, then it was fine.

Ok, but if I put a rug under it, and a chair next to it, and a window behind it with some curtains on it, and sit granny in the chair to read her favorite romance novel, she should be okay right?
354  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife bugs on: 2005 September 16, 05:31:46
I had some sims get a positive social from it (throwing food), total strangers. No crushes, but they loved it, two pluses.
355  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bugs found in NL on: 2005 September 16, 05:28:12
Here's one--place a bed into your inventory when you move, and it's then broken.  It won't place the headboard against a wall, only the foot.  Annoying, since the idea was to SAVE money by taking the old bed.  Instead, I had to blow it on a new one.  Undecided
I got that bug too. Also affected my culinary career reward, and my cowplant.
I also lost my extra want slots on my University graduates. One of them gained them back after moving in and out, another three never did, one never lost them, and the others I haven't played yet. The sims in question were all permanent platinum anyway, so I didn't mind much. I got blank icons on a couple of chars, but when they went to a community lot, it fixed.
I have no hacks in my game, installed the game after removing them all and a good deal of custom meshes to boot. Though of the ones I kept (custom meshes that is) when the house loaded they were curtains.

This one's for you.

Well I got Nightlife as a surprise earlier than I expected, so I decided to test the handheld with teen thing. No spinning wants, though he did meet himself. At least he got a few aspiration points from it. I wonder if he's atracted to himself...
358  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So what's been fixed in NL on: 2005 September 15, 20:44:18
Gardeners can walk on plants. The issue isn't that they can't reach the plant, it's that they see it as "under" the house since it shares a square with the foundation. I think it should be treated as a bug, since it seems that the whole reason we have the half square plants is to match the half square foundations.

What about the rolling wants bug? If there is a handheld in the house with a teen, the wants almost constantly spin, even locked ones. I'm trying to read all these, but if that was mentioned, I missed it.

LTWs are determined when a sim becomes a teen

I thought LTW's were determined when they become children.  I have been using their LTW's to determine what aspiration they are when they become teens.  They dont reroll when they become teens.  Is that a bug?  Im not complaining about it if it is, Im fine with it bc I usually dont have an idea what aspiration I want my kids to be. I have also had a wider variety since I started using it as a factor too
Do you have an old version of the LTW variety hack? The first verision had children with LTWs, the second fixed that.

Is the ventriloquism fixed with sims talking on the phone?

C

Yes! *cheers*

Jen
Awsime!!!
Hey, VJay, were your sims sloppy and playful? I could see that not being a bug if they were. I suspect it is, what with the handheld and teaching crushes and all, but it would be kind of cool if it was flirting for sloppy/playful sims.
361  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife bugs on: 2005 September 15, 15:30:41
The YA Sim I am trying to marry off is a CAS-born sim.  I have always been able to "Propose:  Move In" to a YA to get them to move into a neighborhood lot.  They go through the whole "grow-up" spin-turn and then can walk straight to the wedding arch and say "I do."  I've done this with both CAS-sims and NPC's.

Graphics:  Think I fixed it:  I updated my drivers.  Duh!!!
The move in proposal works for dormies, not controlable sims. They have to graduate first. At least that's what I've heard. When you did this with CAS sims, did they graduate first, or were they still in school?
362  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: the money-order machine... on: 2005 August 23, 03:40:31
Maybe pre Uni they did, but if you have uni, they don't need to be housed.

Did you update your drivers?
364  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: the money-order machine... on: 2005 August 22, 21:29:48
If he has a cellphone and you have the phone hack, you can call him. I can send sims in the bin money, but they all have cellphones so I don't know if that part is required or not.
365  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Request for Mortgage System on: 2005 August 16, 08:02:24
The online banking mod on MTS2 offers a loan faciility, which you pay back, but you need access to a computer to get the money, so that probably wouldn't help.  The only other way you could maybe do it is with JMP's money orders.  If the Sim knows someone, they could send them the money as a loan, then when they are earning they can send regular instalments back to the donating Sim (perhaps with added interest!) via the money orders.   I suppose if you wanted to really make something of it, you could set a Sim up as a sort of bank manager - you could always make them 'known' to the Sims wanting the money in SimPE, so they were able to send the money orders.
That's what I do, especially since I have the no20k hack.
366  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: who's playing this game? on: 2005 August 11, 06:50:16
I agree. I hate forums where topics get locked at the drop of a hat. My husband says that you don't stop someone in the middle of a conversation and say "Excuse me! We were talking about cars, please stay on track or I will have to ask you to leave."
367  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: possible stupid question regarding maternity wear on: 2005 August 09, 21:09:06
I really hope that this is a sim reference and not real life.  Women want to believe it when people tell them they are glowing and blooming...no-one wants the beached whale truth. Smiley
That's not a glow. That's just sweat.

Coolness. Thank'ye.
369  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Question about no dormie regen hack... on: 2005 August 07, 03:08:53
If I use it and kill off the ugly ones, and marry the pretty ones, what happens next? Simply empty rooms in the dorms, or a coughing sputtering game that tries to create dormies when none can be made? If I also install no SS regen, how many should I keep around? Like, ten, or are there already ten? I already have and love the no townie regen, just been a little afraid of messing up my dorms.
370  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Have you seen the effects of Aspiration Failure? on: 2005 August 06, 17:57:30
Keep them in failure for a while, you'll see it.
371  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: who's playing this game? on: 2005 August 06, 17:45:59
Sara, that's a little hostile. I can see your point, but I'm just not comfortable with using that kind of tone towards someone who could even potentially be actually suicidal. I've been there, it's not fun, and being told that your feelings are stupid isn't much fun either.

Humour, on the other hand--I can't tell if JMP is being actually serious, or whether he has the opposite meaning, since I would guess that his approach'd be more effective at discouraging suicide than the "oh, it's not really so bad" tack. Ah, irony.

Life may suck, but it sure is damn funny.
I've been there too. Now days, who hasn't? I never said her feelings were stupid. I implied she might simply be looing for attention, which happens frequently online. This is not a depression support board. This is not an appropriate place to air her feelings.
And what I said about her kid is the truth. If she is a mom, she should be a mom. Being a mom means bucking it up, and being strong so that your kid has a better life. I'm not saying that from some kind of theory about life. I'm saying it from personal experience. It's the truth, flat out. If you love a kid, you buck it up, get help, and keep on living.
372  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: All sims have too many interactions... on: 2005 August 06, 17:34:18
Hell no. Only hacks I have are by you and a couple from twojeffs. They wern't trying to relax though, they were just standing around. It started as soon as I moved them into the lot. Every time they were idle, they would jump every second or so. It was weird. I'm really starting to think it was the mesh, or a conflict with another mesh I had. I had some kind of weird issues with some of the Maxis meshes not behaving as they should when I downloaded another mesh. Like I downloaded a table, and suddenly the three tiled Maxis table in the game starts behaving like a two tiled table. Also, all my double beds were only sleepable on one side.
Anyway, I reset the 'hood again, and am currently deleting all but about 5-10 custom meshes from my game. I'm still pruning my stuff, but all odd glitches have gone away.
373  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: All sims have too many interactions... on: 2005 August 06, 05:50:11
Hmm... is it happening in only one house?

Currently, no. It's not happening at all. Thanks for trying though!!
374  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: who's playing this game? on: 2005 August 05, 22:50:08
Yes, but we've all seen how much people love to have you make fun of them (actually I think I was the first to volunteer my guestbook for the official site back on that post on variousimmers...) I mean, people bound in here and beg you to rip their lips off *coughdatabasecough* so it can't really be "the worst possible place to do that" truely, right?
375  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: who's playing this game? on: 2005 August 05, 22:29:12
Do you love your daughter? I guess not. Otherwise you wouldn't be contemplating abandoning her like that. I have no sympathy for those seeking attention on a message board, or seeking to burden their child with greif and loss for the rest of their young lives.
Get therapy if you are serious, or go to a support board. Going to a sims board with this tells me you are not looking for help, but rather trying to stir the pot or get attention.
