A QA version of SimPE that works with Pets has been out since shortly after the release of Pets. Object Workshop in the QA version works just fine doing recolors and cloning, even of pets items. Most content creators already have access to this version and even with the old SimPE there's ways to get around it and access the new Pets items.

Also, this version of CEP includes some fixes like the glowing GLS stereo and the Way Cool Island Bar Corner's second color state.

It's hardly useless.

Great to see that CEP's been updated. Any and all signs of progress are welcome!

My trouble with waiting for SimPE is that I'm not an object modder or recolorer - I need it to clone the sims in my custom hood that's about to go nova on me, and only no-character-file townie duplicates are showing up in the program. With all of my favorite head cases- er, I mean characters - over in that hood, it feels like I have an expansion I can't really play with until I can fix my fireball. (yes, that's putting it overdramatically, and I'll just have to wait like everyone else.) Still, I'd rather wait for a finished product than make do with a half-assed effort, so waiting it shall be.

As far as I know, Quaxi doesn't limit QA testing to modders. He just wants people to use the QA versions and report any problems they encounter. I know there's some people on the QA forum that don't mod.

Yes really the QA group is so he knows the people downloading the dodgy versions are well aware of the fact they could be getting a dodgy version and don't start ranting if it messes up their game.   Though occasionally he does get annoyed when enough people start spouting consumer rights after having not bothered to give feedback and has a big purge on non-contributors

I just use it to remodel servos or customise sims

Hmmm

It's interesting that he says the radiance lighting has been removed from CEP, yet after downloading it today the radiance lighting is once again in my game upon loading after installing the latest CEP.

I highly doubt that. Numenor removed it unless you put it in without realising using another program were you using scriptonium or something?

Well highly doubt it all you want...i mentioned something in the thread on MTS2 just in case, but I have no idea what the heck happened.  I downloaded from the thread linked here, not the scriptwhatever.

I played with the radiance lighting for a long time and got sick of it so took it out.  I know what it looks like and how it works.

That is the only thing I downloaded outside of MATY since I reloaded my game today.  Maybe it's a freak occurance and my game went psycho lol I dunno.  It's not a big deal either way...I was just a bit annoyed that it snuck in somewhere.

I think that CEP is conflicting with some hacks.

The hacks I have is :

After installing the new CEP, my sim couldnīt do the dishes. The plates became un-clickable when the sims had finished eating.
 
I could move the plates around with out any problems in Buy/Build mode.

If I removed my hacks, the plates became clickable again, but the green stink cloud was gone. And the sim had the option to either Clean Up or Resume Cooking with the dirty plates !!!

So I uninstalled the new CEP (in Controlpanel-Add/Remove Programs) and installed the OFB CEP, added my hacks and everything is back to normal.

I donīt get it ... *Confused*

Theoretically, the CEP should not be able to upset hacks.  But it's possible Numenor accidentally messed something up - very bizarrely.  I'm not using the CEP currently so I can't confirm.

I have most of those hacks, and no problems with them and the new CEP.  Just make sure you have the latest versions of all of them -- many hacks are being constantly updated for Pets as the modders get more familiar with it.

Well, I guess that bizarre is the correct word for this situation.

I donīt know if I have the latests updated hacks ... at this point I so tired of exiting and reloading the game that Iīm close to uninstalling the whole thing and start playing Oblivion.

The latest is that my sim canīt Propose Move In to a sim she have a 100/100 relationship with ... ha ha ... very funny.

Iīm really not complaining. I have no idea if it is CEP, one hack, some hacks or all hacks ... Iīm just telling what I observe. If someone else have the same problems, there could be a conflict. If Iīm the only one, it is my game that is buggy.

I had this same problem with un-clickable plates soon after installing OFB. It happened on some lots and not others (and not with any particular table that I noticed either), and I think the only hacks I had installed at the time were antiwatchout and noautocongratulate. Sims who normally cleared any and all dirty plates when finished eating just started leaving their plate on the table and couldn't/wouldn't touch it, even after it got green and stinky. Sometimes I could select a different sim to clear the plate when the "eater" couldn't do it, and I seem to remember the maids ignoring the plates a few times as well. Haven't updated CEP since 3.3b. Don't know why, but sometime during the ensuing FFS and GL installs the problem seems to have gone away on its own.

I think that was due to installing a new EP with the new code related to food and refrigerators.  I noticed the same thing, but after dealing with the old plates, either getting the sims to clean up or deleting them in debug mode, the problem didn't occur again.  If I install a hack that causes all sims to reset, this problem might occur, but I can usually resolve it as I described above.

So far for me, it's just Erin Singles who won't clean up her plates. As the maid does, and Kristin does, I've decided that Erin is just being a princess and am letting her get away with it  :D
