Title: Nec's TS2 Music Folder, as requested
Post by: Nec on 2008 January 07, 12:58:46
Well, I finally got it zipped up and uploaded to 4shared. The txt file there has the playlist. I suppose I could copy/paste it here for you lazy folks...even though it will make it an annoyingly long post.
\
I had to split it into 8 volumes, and you must download them all. If someone wants just one of the folders, I would be willing to upload those. The link is: http://www.4shared.com/dir/5215700/c1c6b28/sharing.html

This is indeed awesome, and far more complete than my in-game music folder is.

Mine in general is a lot like your techno folder.

Glad people are enjoying it!

I haven't gotten around to the reggae folder yet, but I will upload it when I do.

Real music while playing the Sims is kind of... weird don't you think?  :-\

YES!

But that is why I play in the first place, I think  ???

Real music while playing the Sims is kind of... weird don't you think?  :-\

I would not say it is any weirder than sims having real names, or real job description titles, or catalog entries with readable details, or 'chance card' scenarios with real words, or telephone message boxes with actual speech implied.

I have used real music MP3's since almost day one.  In my opinion it is one of the best and most easily customizable aspects of the game.

A number of games allow you to put shortcuts to the music files instead of actual copies of those files, so I can say there's room for improvement here.

It is great to have real music in-game but I took all mine out as it was almost doubling the initial loading time. I tend not to have any sound while playing anymore anyway. If I changed my mind, I'd definitely put Nec's music in-game though.

Yeah, you're right, and that little part I quoted here should be the official motto of EA Games.  It just needs a Latin translation to make it sound pompous and they could stick it right under the logo.

Okay, folks. I will be removing these files from 4shared at the end of the week (unless someone requests otherwise), so the 4 or 5 of you that haven't acquired all the files might want to do so if you want them.

Oh oops. Timely reminder, ta.

Yea; I kept meaning to download these after I got a bigger system drive, which I did just before the weekend, so time to grab them!

Well most of them came down like a shot. Parts 3 & 6 are not behaving though, I've started them about 3-4 times each. One got to within 8 seconds of finishing before stalling. I'll wait a couple of hours till the after dinner surfers have gone to bed and give it another go.

3 was super-slow for me; the rest came down fine.  Of course, it does help to have premium download status on 4share (worth the $15, I guess :) ).

Title: Re: Nec's TS2 Music Folder, as requested
Post by: witch on 2008 March 06, 05:32:37
I'm getting there. Nec gave me a new link to 3 & 6.

6 came down fine but I have to wait 59 minutes before I can do 3.  ::)

Once the rapidshare page loaded on the umpteenth try of course.

 :-\

I forgot about the wait on Rapidshare.  I never really use it, but I wasn't sure where else to put them.

One of these days I will update the music, but with the addition of custom radio stations in FT, I was thinking of just making a few of those.

It's sweet, 3 is 7% down now, fingers crossed. I got to play for an hour while I waited.  ;D

ETA: Nope. Stayed at 7%.
Then an hour later I got 77%.
Then the original 4shared stuck at 13%.
Gah!

I'll try early in the morning, might have more success.

ETA2: YAY! I tried early this morning and it downloaded in less than five minutes! Now I know when those .de people sleep.  ;D
Thanks so much for sharing Nec.

I am taking this down now. 4shared seems to be cracking down on copyright infringement. If you didn't finish and need any files, pm me and I will send you a Megashares link.

My son also thanks you. Much of your music is too hard core for me, but my son loves it. I made him an mp3 CD for his car and I often hear your music coming up the street... or from a couple of blocks away... no, I'm joking, he's not that loud, but I do hear him coming.  ;D

Oh and my ex, who apparently can't get enough music, swiped the lot.

So, three times I thank you.

I've been inspired by your idea, I've been meaning to make a reggae channel for upload. It will happen, but considering I have about 4 projects on the go, it might take a while longer.

Hey, it is my pleasure! I look forward to the reggae channel, as I can't seem to get motivated to make it. If you do get around to it, I would love it!.

Hee, it's not a matter of collating it, it's a matter of whittling it down enough for upload.  ;D

Free stuff is good!.

Yes, I noticed that the CS doors and widows Havelock had posted were pulled for potential copyright infringement. As IF. A few other links I have tried, too. I thought it was wise to take them down.
