51  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Cannot Install Houses on: 2011 June 15, 02:40:56
The package method is actually a lot easier and more organized than the sims3pack method. Extract to package, then put it in the Library folder. If you want to uninstall it later, delete the package. I tend to prefer this, as it's basically impossible to unintentionally install CC along with the lot.

As for as the sims3packs, you probably need to look into decrapification, but you definitely want to read all the documentation before you do it. The launcher is pretty broken.
52  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Last ditch effort on cc in Generations on: 2011 June 15, 00:02:56
Have you tried decrapify?

Decrapify won't run on a Mac by itself. Mac users need to use boot camp or something like Parallels. Decrapifying fixes a lot of borked crap, but the OP didn't indicate if they have access to a copy of Windows. I'd guess probably not, since the gameplay on Windows tends to be better than the one on OS X (coming from a Mac user who's tried both).

I'm thinking that Macs having trouble patching is a known problem, even with legit games. Are you doing it manually or through the launcher?
53  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Generations: What Sucks, What's Fucked, and What Did EA Get Right by Utter Luck on: 2011 June 08, 00:39:08
I'm pretty sure Maxis was just eaten by EA. The name still exists, but it's not the same Maxis from TS1 days.
54  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Can you decrapify with Mac? on: 2011 May 30, 20:36:24
This has already been covered multiple times, so I'm going to guess you didn't search.
55  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: CAW, please. on: 2011 May 20, 15:13:40
Use Ctrl+F to search for the .exe file, and it should find the link for you.
56  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: CAW, please. on: 2011 May 20, 05:01:25
You don't need an account to download CAW, you just need a direct link to the file. I'm pretty sure it's around here somewhere if you search. Alternatively, clicking view then page source in firefox will pull up the direct link.
57  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: TSM for TS3 on: 2011 May 01, 00:43:53
The custom launcher at MTS also merges packages. Unawesome or not, you're going to have to figure out a method sooner or later, or just live without combined packages.
58  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: FPS Limiter for Sims3... on: 2011 April 13, 04:40:17
I am trying to find an fps limiter for sims3 late night. She has been having overheating problems since the base game.

I'm surprised nobody else brought this up, but I'm a little curious how one determines if a computer is male or female.
59  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: TSM for TS3 on: 2011 April 13, 04:36:24
It does mention some freezing with Win 7 on the download page. Maybe somebody is using an older/different version.

When running Skininator on Windows 7 you'll probably find that the file selection buttons stop responding every several files that you select. You'll have to wait for the program to start responding again. This appears to be a problem with the compiler I use to build the application and I'm trying to make the vendor aware of it.
60  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Updating other people's CC? on: 2011 March 22, 21:37:30
Strange. I'm using decrapified versions of Sugichaco's bunk beds in package format. They show up fine and don't cause any noticeable lag for me. Also, I remember reading that you don't want to mix and match decrapified/crapified files in your game.
61  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Gigabytes Upon Gigabytes Eaten up by S3PE while importing as DBC on: 2011 March 16, 05:28:39
Yes, clicking on the last (and most recent) page of a thread is indeed a lot of reading.
62  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Gigabytes Upon Gigabytes Eaten up by S3PE while importing as DBC on: 2011 March 14, 16:43:04
If you read the thread, why didn't you post your question at the link you were advised to post at, rather than making an irritating new thread in the wrong place?

I think it's pretty clear they didn't bother to read the thread, since this has already been addressed there:

But as a result, I get a horrendous amount of temp files created in my AppData/Local/Temp folder. With each file that's added, it puts a copy of the most recently merged file in there and adds to it. And then it moves on, copies that, adds. Copies that, adds. This goes on and on and on until you either run out of packages to merge, or you run out of diskspace.
63  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: CAS detail in live-mode? on: 2011 March 08, 02:33:04
I find it depends on the lighting you have in your homes. Also that day time lighting  is more harsh. If you properly light your home then you will have almost perfect CAS lighting,

Doesn't the bloom effect get in the way, though? I often have to set my Sims' lighting to dim just because of the annoying glowing.
64  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2011 February 08, 03:52:51
Not clear what you're talking about, TinyBear. In my experience, sims show up under CAS in their age category. For example, when I had the teen category selected in the past, I couldn't choose any of the custom adult sims I'd downloaded until I switched to the adult age. Haven't tried it with the new patch, but I'd expect it to be the same.
65  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: WA Neighbourhoods on: 2011 February 07, 00:12:30
So you've been lurking since five years before the forum was created?

I love it when people try to claim they've been here since TS1 days. Alternate universe, maybe?
66  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2011 February 04, 21:11:25
True, but I have been lurking and digging for the answer to this problem and have seen lots of newbies get chewed up for asking questions to which there is an answer somewhere in the bowels of Trogdor but to which I have not found the posting.

No, I suspect you just don't like the answer. Decrapify fixes broken sims3packs, but they can't be shared. It's also not for idiots, because it will break your game if you don't bother to read.
67  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Patch 1.19/2.14/3.10/4.7/5.5/6.2 on: 2011 February 02, 17:03:10
Not sure if this coincides with the new patches or OLS, but I haven't patched to 1.19/2.14/3.10/4.7/5.5/6.2 and I cannot install the Olympian Physique Set. The launcher states my game needs to be updated to install.

I get that message whenever I haven't decrapified the files first. You are decrapifying the files, yes?
68  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Annoying Centaur Body Problem on: 2011 January 07, 20:01:08
Sounds like you picked up the centaur body mesh by Rose. I've heard of people accidentally getting it from the exchange. Like most of Rose's stuff, it's glitchy as hell and has to be uninstalled through the launcher.

Moral of the story: if you absolutely must download from the exchange, use Custard to clean it. Or you could just use my method, which is to avoid that place like the plague.
69  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Top 3 pieces of advice for Pudding on mac? on: 2010 December 28, 23:58:27
Another recommendation for those who do decide to go the boot camp route: using a program like BootChamp gives you the option of restarting in Windows from the menu bar. You still have to restart the computer, but at least you're not mashing the damned option button every time.
70  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Top 3 pieces of advice for Pudding on mac? on: 2010 December 28, 01:42:58
Also, I've noticed some cc clothes don't seem to work properly either, but that might just be me. You will probably have to play around with the graphics settings a bit, and I've noticed that my sims can take eons just to walk across the sodding room, but again, that might not be a universal problem.

It's connected to the hair issue, I think. I used to have specific clothing and shoes that would go invisible at the same time my CC hair went bald.
71  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Top 3 pieces of advice for Pudding on mac? on: 2010 December 27, 22:18:53
Having tried the game on both sides with boot camp, I've noticed that for whatever reason, the performance under Windows is better than on the Mac side even though all the hardware is the same. Also, CC hair is majorly fucked up on Macs and it doesn't look like it will be fixed anytime soon, so that's something to be aware of if you're a CC addict.
72  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims3launcher problem on: 2010 December 27, 18:44:04
"I read somewhere that it can be a mistake after uninstalling The Sims 2. I was thinking about it and I remind that a few months, years ago I had problem with TS2. I couldn't uninstall it or something. Maybe then I did something wrong (ex. deleted important file) and nowadays it's a reason for launcher error?"

Quoting yourself back to me doesn't mean your statement makes sense. You know what files you deleted, we don't.
73  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims3launcher problem on: 2010 December 27, 02:04:52
Maybe then I did something wrong (ex. deleted important file) and nowadays it's a reason for launcher error?

This seems like a strange question to ask us. Shouldn't you know if you deleted any TS3 files? If you did, that's likely the problem.
74  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Merging mods to increase Performance! on: 2010 December 17, 17:20:31
Using the autosave, rather than merging the smaller packages and re-merging the larger packages, fixed the 50 MB limit for me. I thought I'd tried that already, but apparently not since all is functioning normally again.

Dramamine, I've never been able to merge HP's packages. IIRC, she stated somewhere over at MTS that she's aware of the issue. Those hairs were made in the early days of TS3.
75  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Pudding Factory is for downloads: put your lame requests & WCIFs here on: 2010 December 17, 04:59:50
Fair enough. I tried it out on a crappier computer and had it crash on me, but considering its crappy-like specs, it could've been something else entirely.
