TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No Hobby Spam

I'd like to know that as well, I have been trying to figure out the Hobby Membership tokens and can't make heads or tails of them. I'd really like to revoke memberships once a Sim's enthusiasm dips below 500. If they aren't going to maintain the hobby, they shouldn't have access to the sekrit lot.
I guess I had just assumed that once Sims lost interest in a hobby, they were no longer a member of the club. It seems like kind of a stupid decision to have them maintain access to the hobby lot if they have zero interest in the activity. Then again, this is EAxis we're talking about, so I probably shouldn't be surprised.

Stop arguing and let's discuss what really matters. When will they get a new patch up and running?
Er, why are you asking this here? The modders here just fix whatever is borked by the patch, they don't make the patch itself.

This has happened to me and I haven't moved my sims. None of my sims can go home after visiting a community lot, usually (but not limited to) one on a lot they themselves own.
I had this problem when I had TJ's visitor controller in my downloads folder.

I'm not sure how the game picks the list of townies available for aging, since the last sim I had age was given the option to age three sim children he barely knew. *shrug* I didn't age any of them because, well, if I wanted my sims to age up I'd just move them into a house somewhere.

Im not trying to burn the game, i'm trying to burn a dvd. The point is I can't burn any dvd's or cd's now. Which is very very frustrating.
Have you tried burning a CD or DVD with any programs other than Nero? I know my laptop came with a couple of different programs capable of burning CDs/DVDs when I bought it. If you haven't tried that yet, you might want to, since it's a possibility that it's just Nero. Also, go into C:/Documents and Settings/(insert user name here)/Application Data and make sure there isn't a Securom file there. (You're going to need to have "show hidden files and folders" enabled under folder options if you don't already). If there is, it might explain why your burner isn't working correctly.

That's another thing, it seems like everytime I look at my sims' needs, their energy is bottoming out), so i hit macro/caffeinete so I wouldn't have to send the kid to bed at 10am. He drank the cup, went back for more, and his energy hadn't budged at all. Hot chocolate works fine for adults, though, so I don't really know what is going on.
I agree that my sims' energy bars seem to be out of whack since installing this EP-- they've been dropping like crazy, and it seems pretty unlikely that it's hack-related, since the majority of my hacks are from the DC. There are only three or so non-awesome, and they're all reported to be compatible with FT.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Updating CC for FT

At least in my experience, TV's don't need to be updated. Once you select "watch," you'll have the option to get a movie and appropriate enthusiasm is gained from watching. The menus just aren't identical to non-CC TV's, but all the functions seem to be there eventually.
As for updating computers, I've attached a file with the needed updates. Just open the computer mesh you want to update in SimPe. Then, select TTAB from the resource list on the left. Right click on "untitled tree table" in the resource list and select replace from the menu. Replace it with the ComputerTTAB.simpe from my files. Say yes when SimPe wants to reload it. Repeat for the TTAs (replace the [Pie Menu Strings] with the provided ComputerTTAs.simpe). Save and test in game, you should have all the new options available.
This is exactly what I needed, thank you.

I just checked one of my sim's memories, and he's BFFs with his grandparents... except they died long before I even installed FT. His twin sister doesn't have the BFF memory for them though she was just regular Best Friends with them before they died. The BFF memories of the grandparents are in between other family members who are still alive.
The BFF thing is definitely borked. I had one of my sims randomly gain 6 BFFs, all while she was sleeping. There was no interaction whatsoever taking place. Two of my sims (twins) also randomly became BFFs with each other while they slept. Damn EAxis.

I do not know if this fits in here, but ChristianLovs Clothing rack - hack could really need an update, since it dosent have the option to choose Outdoor clothes other than that it was a good little thing to have in the Downloads folder And I donīt have an option to link to the file ... Rose IIRC, you can do the same things with the coat rack available here: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=225251. I haven't used Christianlov's clothing rack in ages, so I don't remember exactly what it does, but I do remember trading it in for this clothing rack once it became outdated. *shrug*

Any info on how you would update CC televisions? I would also like to know how to do this. Also, if anyone could point me in the direction of some instructions for updating pre-FT computers (or would be patient enough to type them out here), it would be muchly appreciated.

While we're on the subject of actions being dropped, I've noticed that my sims simply cannot tinker with anything for more than a few seconds, even if I haven't tried to assign anything else. Has anyone else noticed this? It kind of seems to ruin the point of tinkering if they only do it for about two seconds. I wish I had - I wanted to see if tinkering was my sim's true hobby (it wasn't), but he tinkered with the trash compactor long enough to get electrocuted . But yes, sims seem to drop their "hobby" activities as soon as their fun meter is full, if these activities aren't connected with other, say, benefits like skill or badge gaining. Ah, now I see, thank you. I didn't even think to look to see whether or not his fun meter was full. *sigh*

I don't have FT either, but according to another site that I'm part of, the spontaneous combustion bug from Seasons is back as well. It effects children, teens and adults. Even though sims are only pixel people, it's rather disturbing to see a toddler sim being burned to death... Does JM's warmthfixes mod do anything about this? I've been playing with it in (a redownloaded one, not the older one) and haven't had this happen to me. However, I've not played FT very much yet, and I've only played the Desiderata neighborhood since I'm cautious of somehow borking my "real" families.

They have been using creator stuff for years-look how they stole your lockable doors Inge! Oh yeah, but it was 'theirs' in the first place due to you using their objects to make them, so they weren't stealing at all. Agreed. Does anyone else remember a site called C&C something or other back in the Sims 1 days? Quite a few things in the Sims 2 base game bear an unmistakable resemblance to their hacked objects. It seems that EA makes a habit out of copying custom content.

This website does have a decent amount of clothes based off custom meshes, but they do quite a bit of shirts that don't require anything. And they have a few full outfits that don't require any meshes-- my favorite is the one on page 17. You can usually tell from the picture whether it's based on a custom mesh or not. http://www.sims2fog.own.cz

The EA pictures are often completely misleading.
In this case I've seen what they're talking about, and it's not just the pictures-- Maxis actually says "make your own runway". It seems borderline lying to me.

I would love a hack like this. It's bizarre that sims who are absolutely dreading a baby get pregnant from a one night stand, and then they're always happy about it.

I've had some very minor issues (babies that cry more than they used to, the occasional Sim that catches on fire for no real reason) but nothing that ruined my game beyond all repair. I haven't tried either of the patches yet, so I can't tell you for sure how useful they are.

There's one thing I'm not clear on though. What is seeding? I've not tried this before, and I'm not anxious to ruin my brand new laptop, though I don't think the SPs are worth money either. Seeding is a BitTorrent term, not a piracy/cracking term -- it means to leave the torrent open after your own download has finished, so that you continue to upload to others who are still downloading. (You also are uploading to others while downloading, but once your DL has finished you have all the pieces of the file, and are a better source than when you only had some.) It's polite to seed at least for a little while, to help keep the torrent working smoothly. (Stupid keyboard.) Oh, okay, thanks. I've obviously not tried this before, but after I actually paid for FFS I told myself never again.

Without your instruction, MistyBlue, I'd still be a game downloading-retard. :B you said "mount the image" and I said to myself " 'mount?' there's an image? what greek are you talking?" So, being the savvy internetter that I am, I googled daemon tools. I had no idea I needed an outside program to get the game to run. But it works now! W00t! Thank you for your assistance. The same with me. I hadn't realized it either-- thanks MistyBlue. There's one thing I'm not clear on though. What is seeding?
