Blindly downloading stuff and depending 100% of your anti-virus scan isn't the smart way to avoid bugs. It's worth taking the two minutes to type out a question to double check.
That would be why you read the comments. If you're that terrified of trusting an anti-virus program, buy it used off Amazon.

Late Night Venues can now receive gigs when the appropriate stage objects have been placed.
So, if I'm reading this right, we can finally have venues that act as both LN band venues and SHT solo venues?

You can thank EA.They know about it, but apparently the market is small enough that they don't care. CC will randomly work, then just as randomly stop working. I wouldn't hold my breath on EA fixing it any time soon, considering that it's been a problem for a couple of years. I'd look into boot camp, if you're attached to your CC.

Failure to load is a corrupted file or Framework Fail.
I actually had this happen to me not long ago, and redownloading AM fixed the problem. You should definitely try downloading AM a few different times before assuming something is wrong with the mod.

You used to be able to rename a package file into a world file, drop it into the InstalledWorlds folder, and the game would recognize it (...or so I thought). But I'm not sure that method works anymore, as I tried it recently with a few different worlds, and none of them showed up in the game. I had to install them all with the launcher to make the game recognize them.

Well, you could, but I'm not sure how it would be better than any other filehosting service. I use Dropbox to sync my ebook library across multiple devices, and I think it's mostly targeted at individuals, not groups. At the very least, everybody would need to have the account's password to upload stuff to it, which would be a serious pain. Picture some enterprising fellow accidentally/intentionally deleting everything. We'd be SOL, especially since I'd expect Dropbox reserves the right to delete content if they deem it illegal. You'd be back in the same place again, needing lots of mirrors on various filehosting sites.

If there's a 'rainbow wheel', this site offers no help.
There are a few other Mac players on this forum, but it just depends on whether or not we've encountered the same problem. Problem with installing sims3packs. Ever since I installed Master Suite, I get that motherfucking rainbow wheel when I try to install Custom Content. Have you tried just waiting it out? How long is it unresponsive for? Decrapifying might very well be the answer, but you're going to need something like boot camp and/or access to a windows computer to use it.

If you can hit pause fast enough, sometimes that will buy you time to export everybody, or at least it did for me. I had a wholly FUBAR'd game that crashed almost immediately whenever I tried to unpause it, but was perfectly willing to sit on my computer and mock me while paused. So I saved each Sim to CAS, loaded up a new world, and recreated all the relationships, career advancements, etc. with Nraas's Master Controller. I tried the Porter mod (which preserves the relationships), but it didn't work in my case--just made the new world crash. It probably just depends on what's screwed up.

Pescado has always required the most recent patch to run AM. Once AM is updated, you'll likely have to patch your game if you want to use the updated version. If you were referring to the current, non-Pets compatible AM, it should continue working until the expiry date. Though you would have to keep a close eye on the launcher, since the store patch would probably be incompatible too (no idea either way, I didn't install it).
ETA: It looks like Pescado removed the expiry date on the 1.24 version of AM, so those of us who haven't patched or installed Pets can keep using it until the CC debacle is sorted out.

Actually, I'm pretty sure I did do everything right, even from using those very instructions. Particularly since after all of my own attempts didn't work, I deleted everything I'd done and went with the Mac Framework Installer (both of them, actually). Where it continued not to work. And that didn't make a damn difference either. So unless you're insistent that Marhis is a total fail, well, there you are.
Marhis isn't "total fail," but that installer is outdated. The old method works on Windows, but I switched to Boot Camp pre-LN, so I haven't tried it on OS X since. I wasn't aware there was another framework installer out there for Mac folk. Where is the other framework installer you're referring to? As far as the message about a modified .exe goes, here's the obvious question: are you using a modified .exe? Using a crack or modifying files to avoid the launcher at startup would probably trigger that. There's also a post about Mac players being unable to patch over at the official forum but obviously, there's no guarantees considering the source. The other option, if you haven't tried it yet, would be to try manually patching, but IIRC links to Mac patches can be tricky to hunt down.
