1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Still planing with TS2 anyone ? on: 2010 June 07, 04:31:11
I was lucky enough to have a friend which borrowed loaned me TS3 and it was a good thing because after a week playing it, I got tired of it.  I could not get attach to any of those Sims and felt more like I was watching a show then being part of it which is what I like about TS2.

I still play TS2 almost daily and even created new hoods recently.  There are still many things I have not tried yet so the fun factor is still there for me and I have all the hacks I need to make it a great and fun experience.

I doubt I will ever reinstall TS3 unless it would be the base game with only one EP addition that would make it totally different, which is doubtful.  Even with mods, it seems to be a pain to manage and hard to keep a hood for a long time without it exploding into pieces.  And the process to install mods is way more complicated then in TS2.

I like my game simple to handle and not scratching my head all the time so it works properly

ETA:  Corrected to avoid causing more tooth ache
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 March 19, 00:39:25
I apologize for being so lazy but I did not feel like checking all the 22 pages to see if this bug has been reported yet or not.  I got FT ep last Sunday.

I did a little test yesterday in regards of the Needs perks and here is a link to my results:  http://www.thesporum.net/smf/index.php?topic=2329.0

In case you are not feeling like reading it, the conclusion I came up with is that those needs perks have no effect at all on sims neither does being "in the zone".  Nothing changes the way needs are decaying despite what Eaxis adverstised.  No error report was produced by the game.

I wonder if this can be fix with a mod or is it deep core coded?
3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Mod to do Pickpocketing? on: 2007 December 27, 01:42:35
You can now have axe murderers if you want now.  Paladin made a "Crate of Throwing Axes" that sims can use to kill other sims.

4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Myths, urban legends.... and alien abduction on: 2007 November 30, 19:21:52
I think the only way to have an alien plantsim is to make an alien turn into a plantsim since I don't think plantsims can get pregnant.

ETA:  Well I'll be damn, indeed the option to try for baby is there.  I always thought since plantsims spore plant babies they could not actually get pregnant the normal way, I learned something today.
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Myths, urban legends.... and alien abduction on: 2007 November 30, 15:42:30
I always thought that the abduction odds where a bit higher in an unmodded game when playing Strangetown. Is that a myth too?

I don't know fer sure, because I always play with TJ's mod in. Or did. And will again, as soon as my new shiney arrives. My neighborhoods are a bit out of the ordinary, and aliens are essential. That's why I also had a gender equality mod. Both, pixel men and pixel women got pregnant.

I hope that mod is also easy to re-find. I'm hoping it was TJ's. I better go check.

As far as I know the chance of abductions is the exact same in all the hoods, so for Strangetown it is a myth.

As for the mod, just want to make sure about this. Did you mean a mod which permit female to get alien pregnant too?  If so, that one was made by Squinge but there might be other modder that did it too.  Wink  There are 3 versions available at the sims2graveyard, if you are unsure of which you need, pm me and I can tell you what is the difference between the 3.

ETA:  Add a bleh moment and change permit abduction to permit alien pregnant

6  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Constant momentary freezing. Stupid BV? Stupid computer? Or something else? on: 2007 November 28, 22:07:44
What I personally notice is sims seems to be trying to fish threw the floors which is kind of impossible and instead of looking for a usuable spot (there are not many on that lot to start with), they will stomp, scream and try over and over again to fish at the same silly spot instead of getting any knowledge and stop and find the usuable spot, all this is causing a huge lag.

I ended up totally removing the pond on that specific lot but unfortunately, I cannot on the witch hut lot since it is a special lot.

I asked fat gwilly people to release it twice with no luck, I am joining you in this request Emma jump as high as you can.  Tongue

It is a must fix that should have been release at least one month ago.

As for the lagging problem, since I install the patch it did reduce the lag for no reasons (not the fishing one though) problem a lot.
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Give up for adoption hack? on: 2007 November 19, 03:32:26
The way you want it is not possible as far as I know, other tried but the memory were not working quite well and there was issues with the social worker.

Your best bet is to use Inge's teleporter shrub. No social worker will come to pick the kid up, won't create a memory (well I don't think there will be some), but your sim will be given up for adoption with a few clicks of a mouse.
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage, Seasons and Pets problems.. on: 2007 November 15, 07:09:31
allright! thx for that!

What about the cellphone-in-hotels problem? is there a fix for that, i've missed?

Well the BV patch does fix this but I guess you do not want to install it.  Tongue
9  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Elder got pregnant! (Ste???) on: 2007 November 07, 03:08:20
Joe you are aware that the risky woohoo mod is only posted at the MTS2 site, right?

I don't think syber posted it here and when an update is needed (he made one for ep6) he is posting it at MTS2, not here.

http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=108011

So I have to agree with Pescado here.  Tongue

ETA:  If you are already using this version than sorry.
10  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: can someone interpret an error log for me? on: 2007 November 07, 02:50:22
My interpretation of tight pants is that the person did not check and made sure that all the cc stuff and mods he/she have is still compatible with the latest ep install.

Easy to solve by removing and putting back stuff and do trial and error or checking the site where you got it in the first place and see if it is stil compatible.

It is like people think all cc will always work with new ep.... wrong, not only mods needs updates.  Wink

11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Food wants showing at odd hours on: 2007 November 01, 04:54:42
I just check and that option do not show up in the macrostatics menu for me, I check both outside and inside the house.

I do not seem to have the requirements on the lot for it to show and it is becoming a bit complicated now when all I want is the food want to show when I can actually fulfill it weither the sim is hungry enough or not.

Again thanks for the help though.  Smiley
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Food wants showing at odd hours on: 2007 November 01, 04:20:45
Thanks for your suggestions Zephyr I really appreciate them.  But other than the basic macrostatic mod I do not use the other mods you mention and for now have no intention too.

All I am asking is if something already exist or can be done so those food wants would actually show up at hours I can fulfill them and that I would not need to direct my sim again to eat it once it is cooked.

If there is nothing like that and someone is interested in trying to fix, I would appreciate it.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Food wants showing at odd hours on: 2007 November 01, 03:44:55
Indeed Pescado, I totally forgot about the "make" option coming with BV.  I just tried to make a single plate of mac & cheese at 3 am and I was able too.  Of course the sim will put it on the counter so I have to direct it to eat it but at least the wants do get fulfill when my sim ate it.

I rarelly use that feature since I do not have types of business that requires me to use it.

People without OFB though might like it.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Food wants showing at odd hours on: 2007 November 01, 03:20:43
I am sick and tired of my sims spinning the want to eat cereal at 5pm in the afternoon because it just happened to get up. I cannot even cook that meal at that hour.  There are other meals wants that are showing at odd hours.

Is there a mod already available fixing this so the game would look at what time it is before it spin the food want?

I do not want a mod permitting me to cook meals at anytime, I simply do not want those wants to spin at impossible hours for me to fulfill them.

Does this exist?  Is it already part of the wants & fears sanity mod (I did not notice it iss a feature but I have to ask)?
15  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Sinking BV General Store on: 2007 October 31, 15:48:48
Does this lot comes with a basement?

I never tried it.
16  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: No Eat Crap II: Electric Boogaloo *UPDATED 12/21/05* on: 2007 October 29, 14:58:06
Same here, no problem with the pie menu.

If you are using cc fridge, some are probably not Seasons compatible check if they have not been updated.  If this happens with all fridge Maxis included, then make sure all the mods you have are updated for Seasons.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BV and the adoption pool on: 2007 October 24, 20:01:40
Indeed but there are 2 versions of this hack, one that bypass it and one that does not.

If you are using it, either it is no more bv compatible or you are using the wrong version.

do not use VC and there are no holiday locals or tourists visiting my main hood.  Not to say that it will never happen, but in several weeks of play since BV, it has not happened yet.

By default, the locals and vacationers should not appear in the main hood so your game behavior is totally normal. The VC is useful to stop them from appearing on business lots and downtown community lots.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: New Body Shop Bug!!!!111!1eleven on: 2007 October 20, 19:56:21
Just added a more explicit list to my first post since this does not just apply to people experiencing problems with Bodyshop but too everyone using cc genetics, meshes and/or that have install cc sims.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / New Body Shop Bug!!!!111!1eleven on: 2007 October 20, 17:57:06
I stumble into that post at Insim and thought I should share the link. http://www.insimenator.net/showthread.php?t=63174

For those experiencing problems with Bodyshop or if you have a lot of cc genetics or meshes or install cc sims, I stongly suggest you read it.  Beosboxboy is a very reliable source and I totally trust his finding.

If you have questions about this, I cannot help you, I just wanted to pass on this information to you guys.  You can either post them at Insim site in that thread, or ask in here as I am sure you will find good help too.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Vacation Locals invading neighborhood?! on: 2007 October 20, 16:21:16
If some of you are using the latest version of Twojeffs visitor controller mods, it stops vacationners from showing in any other hoods than the vacations ones.
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Uni making too many prof's in SaraMK's merged hood on: 2007 October 18, 04:29:59
If it could have been limited to 1 per major or maybe just 1 professor only, anti-redudancy would have already be done this way.  Wink

Pescado already answered in the anti-redudancy post that the game NEED 2 professors to be created per major, no way around it so far or he would have changed it.

Unless he did not check to see if the codes were altered or changed in any way since Uni, I doubt there is any way to do this or it would be done already.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Uni making too many prof's in SaraMK's merged hood on: 2007 October 18, 03:45:33
Then it looks like whenever there is a new major added the game is set to add 2 new professors because they are needed like for all the regular majors.  Even with anti-redudancy the game still creates 2 for each majors because they are needed by the game.

I guess if you want less of them, you will have to remove some of your cc majors before you create a new hood and not add them back.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Uni making too many prof's in SaraMK's merged hood on: 2007 October 18, 03:22:13
Sorry Zephyr, not quite familiar with the term "vanilla" game.  Tongue

It made me want to lick my screen somehow.  Cheesy
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Uni making too many prof's in SaraMK's merged hood on: 2007 October 18, 03:09:33

I think they normally get created immediately you load a uni campus

Indeed, I think the game is scheduled to create them around 10am.

Anti-redudancy should be in all time during the test to see how it is affecting one hood and possibly not the merge one.  And you could also try with and without the cc majors.
