1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The Birth Control Mirror on: 2011 July 09, 04:25:17
so uh, i decided to try this out since it looks like it should be working...i'm fully patched, playing with base game and ambitions, and this doesn't seem to be working. no BC options in any mirror...

Ok, I am at a loss. I followed the how to install awesome and framework guide EXACTLY. Just installed a new game on a new computer so nothing old to remove. I made a documents>ea>sims3 new mods folder, downloaded the cfg from the guide and put in the mods folder, made a package folder, put the awesome.package in there....and my game blackscreens, wont start, and i get the unauthorized/outdated mod error message to boot. dont understand what i could be doing wrong. I have NO other mods installed either...

edit: nevermind, patching with the modthesims patch tool fixed me issue, it looks like...

I've a question...was lurking around the site and read on another thread that Pescado had added new traits to the game? Is this besides the pedo related and chosen ones, and if so, would anyone care to edumacate me as to what they might be?

On a related note, I've also been thinking that some autonomous/story driven adoptions would be a nice add to the neighborhood..
Already happens with the EA SS engine. Just try "stocking" the adoption pool. [/quote]

bwahahahahaha....oh, i must admit, I do enjoy "creating" orphans...

I'd also like to toggle aging for individual sims. I put a sim in Riverview that is luring townies to her house for parties and then locking them into basements to die, but I can't make her into an inter-generational horror if she ages with everyone else. (Unless I decide she should have kids to carry on her legacy, but I don't like the kids much.)

A rabbithole object that's just an archway or a door is a genius idea and would make redesigning the towns, which is so limited now, a lot easier.

ambrosia?
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Thinness capped at .5? on: 2009 August 20, 00:48:05
then again do really muscular people in real life ever lose the muscle? most that i've seen who've gotten out of shape still look muscular, they just have a layer of fat over the muscles...
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Thinness capped at .5? on: 2009 August 19, 20:23:22
and wouldnt anorexia be easier to implement? bulimia involved making them eat until stuffed, then enabling an optional vomit command when stuffed, then weightloss from a successful vomit rather than just noeat = thin solution?
Look, I go with what AMUSES ME MORE, okay? Watching a sim just NOT EAT? Boring. Watching the Yarfing Pedobait brought back to TS3? FUNNY. Capiche?

xD Je comprende, monsieur. You implementing bulimia would actually make my day for various reasons including the above stated.  Though You should also make it decrease thier livespans significantly though for uh, realism purposes :0 And if someone catches them, they should have a disgusted moodlet...or something :0

And dunno, the editor worked for me, but then again, I didnt make the edited sim work out any after I did the editing? I also have the bodysliders from ModtheSims installed (forgot the creator, but I use those + Pescados face sliders) if that makes any difference? Dunno might just be voodoo thing...

lately Absent-Minded has been inducing homicidality from me. CONSTANT dropped actions, as in forgeting to eat mid meal when starving, forget to woohoo mid action, forgetting to go to work/school five times in one morning, etc. etc. >.>
Hahaha.

*Oh yeah, baby, oh yeah*

*Brings up a crossword, starts writing*

"What are you doing?"
"Who are you?"

I personally imagined it as a "woahhh, how did that get in there? 0__o"

xD
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Thinness capped at .5? on: 2009 August 19, 03:24:33
With exercise, a sim will lose fatness, but won't acquire thinness, because people who work out in real life don't turn into emaciated sticks, they merely lose fat. You'll have to wait until I implement bulimia.

well if they excercise without eating, they can indeed get rather thin eventually...

and wouldnt anorexia be easier to implement? bulimia involved making them eat until stuffed, then enabling an optional vomit command when stuffed, then weightloss from a successful vomit rather than just noeat = thin solution?

and I solved this problem by downloading and using the savegame editor. Changing weight sliders in Editsim doesn't work, the weight just changes back. I believe their is a link to said editor in the pudding factory?

12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: How fast is your TS3? on: 2009 August 16, 04:12:43
these threads always make me wonder...

I play the game on a 12 inch tablet laptop, with that whore that is Vista, half the time with several other programs running also, and have never felt that the game was running particularly/annoyingly slow for me? I remember TS2 took waay longer to load, back in the day....

will try to get specific specs later to see if i just have way lower standards than yall...
13  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 August 14, 03:21:39
i tried with two different sims with no results...will try with the name included and see if that helps. sadly not on same sims as i already edited the larvae and drowned the senile old man Cheesy
14  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 August 14, 01:06:28
its proably another instance of sillyness/stupidity on my part, but I cant get the droptrait command to work. Have tried [droptrait Absent-Minded], [droptrait "Absent-Minded], [droptrait absent-minded], [droptrait AbsentMinded] etc (minus the actual []'s that is) and NOTHING happens...on multiple sims :[ I ended up just using the savegame editor but it'd be nice not to have to resort to that...
15  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Question about awesome skin blending. on: 2009 August 06, 01:57:02
Well, one of the tricks you can use is that you can leave it on as a general case, and dynamically toggle it using setconfig as needed. Also, the feature may be looked into to improve it some more after I write another dumper. Plus you're not supposed to breed with Grim.

hmm that is an idea, though one ill hold off on as im planning to deploy my currently black reaper kid to populate my legacy neighborhood with black grimmy babies :0

and that's lieeeessssssss. grim babies are the best babies of all. and woohooing the reaper is almost as funny as wookhooing servos was...first EA takes away the alien rape babies of ts2, then it tries to take the grimmy babies and ruin my fun
16  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Question about awesome skin blending. on: 2009 August 05, 15:15:50
hmm, i ended up disabling the awesome blending myself because...apparently the black skin you get from breeding with the reaper is considered 'light', so when breeding with regular colored sims in CAS it was impossible to get any black spawn, which was very sad and a waste of my grim breeding efforts

how are reproduction rates with awesomestory? as much/more/less than indie?

In my experience, less. I'm probably not a good example though because I started a new game and nuked everyone (Destroyallhumans) and started from scratch so I basically started off with an empty hood which won't be the norm for most people.

Indie for me was making people breed like rabbits and moving mass quantities of sims into town. Awesome story mode isn't doing that. The progression has been a bit slow so I just tried to nudge it along by creating some more sims and moving them in, but again my situation really isn't the norm.

The one thing that differs is there are no shortcuts or free passes here so if a sim family does not have enough money for a house they will not move into it. Indie would just assign them a random house and then give them a flat 25k in funds.

It's much more important here to make sure you have some low income housing with enough beds and a crib etc if you don't want to end up with homeless families.

There's a whole system to that too. They will pay money into an 'apartment' and for food etc. They can get money from the pot that you give to charity too so if you have good sims the more you give, the more it literally will benefit any homeless sims. If they get enough money to move into a home that meets their needs (enough beds for their family basically and cribs for babies and toddlers) then they will move in.

If not then they can potentially starve to death, though it takes a long time.

mmm, fair enough, sounds pretty good. as much as i found indie's "____ and ____ are expecting their sixth baby!" lol worthy...

and damn, when pescado makes something, he makes it good. I hated how even with indie sims would randomly move around musical houses style from mansions to cheap homes for no good reason...this sounds much better...and yay to charities actually having a purpose :0

19  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: File that decides Maxis "townies"' names on: 2009 July 14, 15:15:58
Man, and I've spent the morning looking for a change name Mod, only to find this.  Sorrow.

I started a new neighborhood for Legacy, started out by deleting all humans, and some of my fun new townies include Meghan Fox and Julia Stiles.  While funny, they aren't as bad as Shaquetta Woodstock (a blond, blue eyed little girl), or the newly born Albert Fish.  I'll be keeping an eye on that one.

you should marry him into your family and then lure townie children unto the lot and...
20  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Legacy Challenge for TS3 on: 2009 July 06, 02:45:57
bwaha, behold the founder of my legacy family!

Her name is Eiko Shacklebolt.

She is an Insane, Charismatic, Family Oriented Virtuoso who Loves the Outdoors :0

Her first day in town went well. She's opted to use her money to buy a guitar and become a vagrant bard till she saves up enough to build a house and start her family. She went to art gallery (playing in Riverview) where she met the Brokes, who liked her amateur guitar playing though, being Broke, gave her to tips... Later she met Hunter Cottonwhateverhislastnameis, the big muscular dude with a reputation for being very hard to get along with. But they got along great! They even bonded over having a shared trait of Insane. They stayed up till 2am talking and became great friends, at which point poor Eiko was so tired she just fell asleep right on a park bench. The next day was a bit rougher...she was tired and smelly and hungry when she went to work at the music career...not a great first impression. But after work she took a shower at the gymnasium and then decided to see if her new friend would let her crash at his place. Turns out he lives in....a bunker all the way at the edge of town. A legit bunker. See, most people would be put off by this but Eiko? Well hell, she's as crazy as he is! She went over his house in a very formal dress that she changed into when she showered at the gym! And he conveniently has two single beds in his bedroom so...Eiko got a nice restful night's sleep ;]

I like the idea of this challenge.

Think I'm going to make a matriarchy with the 'Insane' family trait :]
