Title: Type resetallwants to fix your broken wants, you morons
Post by: Euphemism on 2009 August 29, 17:02:26
I have this Young Adult Sim I've been playing for a while. Everything went fine until she threw a birthday party to age into an Adult. Now, whenever she fulfills the requirements to achieve a Wish (or Want, whatever), it doesn't fulfill. She doesn't get the points for it and it doesn't leave the slot. Nothing happens, no matter what I do, for any wish.

I started a new neighborhood and this only happens to that one Sim. I tried reinstalling Awesomemod and resetSim and no dice. I'm not sure if this is an Awesomemod problem or a game bug. Does anyone have any clue? This is my favorite Sim and I don't want to have to cheat to play the game normally >:(

Try "resetallwants".

Ever since I installed the newest version of the Awesome Mod, I've noticed that all of my older households were not getting any wishes/wants. Is there something that can be done to fix this?

Actually it's not a joke. I've already tried that and it didn't work.

Have you tried picking them up, deleting them, and putting their copy down instead? This can solve 90% of most family problems, and I would imagine that you're pretty brain-dead not to do this first. Also look at neighborhood clones.

I deleted the copy of them awhile ago after I backed up all the neighborhoods. I looked went to some of the townie households and all of them had wishes. So I guess I'm out of luck right?

I had the same problem, not with just one family but with a whole neighborhood.  Someone pointed out to me that typing "Resetallwants" (which clears the wants for a whole game) in the  console would fix it, and it did.  If you can't get that command to work, (as I couldn't at first) make sure that you have the EA Debug Commands set to Enabled in your configuration file.  Hope this helps.

Sorry for the late reply, my internet has been crappy as hell out here in the boonies. But yeah, that worked. Thank you.

I just wanted to say thanks too. I had been having this same issue (and wishes wouldn't generate either), but now everything seems back to normal, so yeah, thanks. :D

Really? You couldn't have posted this question in the other thread, the thread about wants not being fulfilled, the thread that was one day old? REALLY?

HERE IS A HANDY PLACE TO REPORT BUGS RESULTING FROM AWESOMEMOD (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,16098.0.html)

The bug report thread exists for a reason, and the reason is that it is ineffecient and undesirable to shit up the rest of the forum with these bug reports.
