1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TS3 Patch 1.33 on: 2012 March 19, 16:03:31
Is anyone else having issues logging in since the new patch?  The same day that 1.33 was released, Origin prompted me to update, too.  Ever since, it ridiculous trying to log into any of my EA related accounts.  I can launch my Sims game but about 5 minutes into it, Origin pops up to tell me that it's logged me off.  WTF?  I would go any complain about this to EA but I can't log in to any of my accounts.

Oh, and since 1.29, my game has had some sort of a glitch where I can't choose Lifetime Wishes in CAS.  I thought it was AM related but it was still happening even if I ran a new game without AM.  Having to re-install Sims is going to be a real bitch...I'm gonna lose all the paid CC that leaked into my launcher for free via the sims exchange Sad

This patch is some sort of joke.  I got prompted to upgrade my Origin and patch my game.  Now, neither Origin nor the Sims 3 site allow me to log in.   Roll Eyes Huh

Does anyone know where I can find the Fun for Kids of All Ages Compilation as untouched sims3packs?

I can't seem to post in the TS3 Store: Downloads thread.  I don't have a reply or quote button.  Does my account need special permission?

I have had CTD's due to low RAM before the Generations patch but I know that I get a little, yellow, triangle icon with an exclamation point when those happen.  Until I added the recent .exe a few days ago, my computer was giving me notices (in the bottom right corner) about it being DEP related and I was crashing within 10 minutes of loading the game.  Now that I fixed that issue, I'm back to having my RAM related CTD's, every few hours.

Speaking of RAM...does anyone here have experience with using ReadyBoost to alleviate some of the pressure Sims 3 puts on RAM?

The 1.22 patch changed which .exe runs Sims 3, so you may need to fix DEP to work with TS3W.exe as well.  You didn't say whether or not you had patched to 1.22, but you did say you were running test AM, and as that is for 1.22, it seemed safe to make that leap.

Thanks!  Turns out it was TS3W.exe because my game's been running smoothly since I added it.

DEP can cause problems for quite a lot of stuff. The problems of DEP far outweigh the slight benefits. I'm sure most people using it have no idea what it even does and the likelihood of your system being compromised in this way is very slim. Why not just leave it at it's default setting (for essential windows programs and services only). Then there wont be any issues.

Normally, I wouldn't touch it because I don't consider myself computer savvy.  The reason I got involved is because Sims 3 got DEP related crashes when I had it set to the essential windows programs/services.  I read some tutorial online which suggested turning DEP on for all programs and specifying which ones to bypass.

I don't have the StoreStuffMadeShiftable.package...it may be something else?

Thanks! I just added the TS3W.exe and I'll test the game out to see if it was the culprit.  I am running version 1.22...I referred to it as 6.5 because that's what shows up in my launcher.

Only use that package if you have an override folder to put it in, or all the store objects.

I do have something else in the works for people who decrapify, or don't have all the objects based on this. When this will be released.. well.. I honestly cannot say.

And it would have been nice if you'd told me you had that problem, so I could possibly find what went wrong as I have not experienced that issue.

I wasn't aware any of your packages could have triggered DEP.  I just mentioned them because they're one of the few mods I use.  If it turns out to be TS3W.exe responsible for the DEP, all of your store content packages (1 through 9) should be fine.

Well, that's kind of why I'm asking for help.  I don't have Generations so I can't go into the Game/Bin folder for it...I only have the latest patch and I'm not sure if that's affecting things in any way.

This may not be the place to ask but I can't deal with other forums.  I've been having a couple of issues since I patched to 6.5 (I'm also running the test version of AM):  My game keeps crashing and the computer gives me a notification that it's DEP doing it.  I have Windows Vista.  I don't have any stuff packs, I have all the EPs except Generations (because EPs are shit until AM compatible)...I also have Moryrie's Store Content packages and a few body/face sliders.  No other mods.  My caches are cleared and the content I have has been decrapified.  I set up my DEP to bypass Sims 3 stuff months ago and this is the first time it's started acting up.  A couple of days ago, I got a notice to update my EADM and now that icon turned in to something called Origin.  Could this be the cause of my problem?  I Googled some solutions but everything that comes up is related to the base game, from when it first came out.  Can anyone help?

I wanted to check with someone before I went through with this decision: I have a family in town where the married father has a mistress.  If I "crtl+shift" his mistress to make her his girlfriend, will the polygamy bork my game?
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Is anyone else having Launcher issues? on: 2010 November 05, 03:04:05
lol fair enough.  I could always just convert the sim3packs and bypass the launcher.  I find that my game freezes when I convert my store items to .package.  Is this an issue on my end or does EA do something to their store items so that we can't convert them?
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Is anyone else having Launcher issues? on: 2010 November 05, 02:55:00
My launcher crashes when I launch my game but the game continues to run smoothly.

All of my .package CCs work fine but the launcher is dicking around with the Sim3packs.  It tells me all the content (including Sims 3 store items) is installed but when I run the game, none of it shows up.  So lame.

I contacted EA tech support almost 2 days ago and still no answer.  Apparently, they've been been ignoring everyone with said issue.  What a joke.  Instead of trying to resolve their customer's needs, they're busy launching crappy laundry/Morroccan store content.  I'm so mad, it makes me wanna kick a puppy.
13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims 3 EPs on External Hard Drive? on: 2010 November 01, 03:03:14
Unfortunately I only have a lap top so getting internal upgrades aren't really an option.

Unless your laptop already has a 750GB or 1TB Hard drive, why is getting an internal upgrade not an option?  750Gb are more readily available while 1TB tend to cost too much at the moment to make it really viable.

If you really want to use an external HDD, why not uninstall and re-install everything to the External HDD and see what happens, that would free up even more space on the internal drive.

TBH I wasn't really in the mood to reinstall everything so I just moved 90% of my music and photos onto the external drive and that left free space for LN.  I find that laptop upgrades are bit overpriced.  It's not really in my budget at the moment.  Plus, I already got the external one so I wanted to know if it was useful before spending anymore cash.  You're right though...putting EVERYTHING on the external drive would probably be the way to go.

Thanks for the help.  Sorry I couldn't be of more use to someone looking for similar answers.

15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims 3 EPs on External Hard Drive? on: 2010 October 31, 16:20:46
I might have to just be the test subject for this.  Thankfully, I'm already backed up for the LN patch...I wante to help test AM.  I've searched all over for an answer to my questions but all I get is explainations for how to install base game on external drives.  Unfortunately I only have a lap top so getting internal upgrades aren't really an option.  I'll report my findings for anyone else once I download LN.
16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Sims 3 EPs on External Hard Drive? on: 2010 October 31, 14:46:11
I'm planning on buying LN, soon...but after doing a routine check-up on my computer, I realized I probably don't have the space for it.  I have an external drive with 1Tb of space which has been a good candidate for said project.

Question 1: If I decide to place LN on F:/My Book (instead of C:/Program Files/...), will I have to uninstall and relocate Sims 3, WA and AMB there, too?  Is it possible to have LN on the F drive, by itself?

Question 2: How will this affect my CCs?  I have all my mods in My Documents (AMB method).  To be specific, I want to know how it might affect AwsomeMod.  Sims 3 is f***ing useless without it.

Undecided Any help would be appreciated, as I'm not what one would call "computer savvy".

About the AM version released yesterday...is it compatible with the new update?  I don't have LN and I don't plan to buy it for a while, I just want to know if it's safe for me to get the latest EA patch.

Thanks for the help!  I actually had it set up that way but some of my folders got messed up after I re-downloaded all my games (after the stupid patch).
20  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 July 11, 00:31:32
I seem to have gotten the game to work, finally...no thanks to EA, ofcourse.

The folders under Documents/Electronic Arts/Sims 3 have changed.  They only have Downloads, Installed Worlds and SigsCache now.  Do I still put AM in my custom Mods/Packages folder or do I put it in the Downloads one EA provided?
21  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 July 10, 17:48:44
I just had a bunch of shit happen to my game after EA's newest patch.  I'm manually patching my game at this point and I was wondering how high I should go up the patch list to keep running AM...?
