TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Neighborhoods won't load after installing Ikea

Ahh that could be it! The initial startup of the game takes only about 3 minutes so when I start to load a neighborhood and it takes in excess of 20 minutes, I assumed it was freezing. I think that's an incredibly long time. I did manage to get Strangetown and Pleasantview to load, so you are probably right. Thanks for the heads up!

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Neighborhoods won't load after installing Ikea

For some inexplicable (to me anyway) reason, my neighborhoods won't load. The game loads beautifully, but when I try to enter any neighborhood, they go through the loading process and stall. I deleted the neighborhood manager package, and still none will load, even in a vanilla game. This is redunkulous! Any ideas?

Totally not interested in TSS - I never play teens except to get them through college, and I could care less how they're dressed. K&B is okay, but not great. I don't have Ikea yet, but from what was said here, it looks like that's the one to get.

Huh? I've never seen a single purple roof. And the game does have a variety of colours from which to choose. Do you mean you wish to give a different roof colour to buildings on the same lot, or have you just not found the "roof colours" section?
You obviously haven't checked out the "wonderful" roof recolors available at just about any site there is. Weird color options, I say. I want different roof colours available on the same building. Sort of like the individual roof slope, but with roof colors; but I only want that if someone is able to do a copper roof. I would love to be able to have a copper roof over a small entry door or something.

Kazzandra, your castle-like edifice is loverly! Modern design sometimes misses out on the officious nature of the government-type building required of this challenge. Castle away!
Cimaronna - I love the challenge arena. I totally agree with Annan - could be a must for all future uploads.
Alex, the exterior is lovely and furnished! Bonus.

Did you leave the moveObects command on? Sometimes it'll crappify stuff if you don't make sue to turn it off. Make sure you turn off any boolprop commands, also. That'll crappify stuff too. I'm sure someone who's awesome will tell you better.

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Missing EA content upon installation of K&B stuff
|
on: 2008 July 01, 23:47:27
|
I recently uninstalled and reinstalled Kitchen and Bath stuff because the content wasn't showing up in the game. Then, I used the any game starter to create a new game with only the base game, NL & Seasons. I wanted to put fireplaces in a home I made, and lo and behold, there were absolutely no fireplaces showing up in the anygame starter game. So, I tried my regular game (Free Time), and looked in there. The only fireplaces that were in that game were those from Pets and FT. Also, there were no pool tables in the anygame starter game. Where did my EA content go? WTF? Also, what do I do to restore my original content?

In my hometown we have a resident bearded lady who is apparently quite famous (for being the bearded lady). There's a group on facebook petitioning to get her on Big Brother.
I rarely watch reality tv shows, but I would definitely stare at that one! No - I'm sorry, facial hair is revolting. My earliest, most abiding (and clearly formative) memory of the horrors of facial hair involved a man who used to brush through his moustache with his fork after he had eaten to (and I quote) "get the last bits, mmmmm". Okay - ewww - very understandable reaction to that little tidbit of information. Perhaps you could direct him to Jolrei's post as a "how to" guide. Who knows, maybe the instructions of how to eat whilst having a beard is located on the beard website.
I went on strike when my husband grew a goatee.
I'd probably be with Mrs. Jolrei on this one. They can look super sexy. I have (as does my selfsim) a moustache and goatee - Mrs.jolrei is fond of it, so she says. She would likely go on strike if I shaved it off. I do keep it trimmed and do not comb food out of the moustache with a fork. Getting food in the moustache is a careless waste of food. The trick is to aim the food-laden fork at the mouth under the moustache. I don't like the look of a mustache without a beard, but the look of a beard without a mustache is just weird. That depends upon the nature of the beard. If you consider stubble still beard, then the under the chin stubble can look quite cool.

I am going to attemp to submit my imposter. It includes a main hall, in which the senatorians may argue deliberate; a library (for research of course!); a large kitchen and dining hall, and ample bathrooms. ; Since I have little to no idea what the senate does here, (I've heard tell of "souping"), I've included areas in which the senatorians may skillinate and hobbinate. There is also an excersize room, a tv viewing room, a spa with a sauna and a hot tub, and a swimming pool. And because Pescado enjoys having them dance until they pee, I've included a dancing area for the Maty senate sims. The Senate chambers are equiped with desks, computers, bookshelves and double beds. Well, you never know when somesims' comfort gets too low or something! Oh, there are two versions, one a regular residential and/or community and the next a dorm. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RN3U6MQ9http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WF1BAGTN

I wanted to enter this challenge because I thought I had the perfect idea... I built a replica of the Temple of Bacchus, complete with Senate chambers and all (goodness knows what goes on in there!). I tried to keep it as true to the original as possible, size-wise anyway, so it is a HUGE lot, about 1.5 mb. I guess that means I can't enter. I thought that a building that celebrated the god of wine would accurately reflect the tomfoolery that may go on in the senate here. Stupid standards! Here's a pic [/img] [/img]

quote author=jsalemi link=topic=11215.msg323665#msg323665 date=1206490077] OTOH, it is nice to get a free computer to replace all those Monique computers that are now missing from my game.
So that's why my Monique computers aren't working - the stupid "gift" computer? I thought it was a hack conflict that wasn't being diagnosed with the detection utility. Good to know (dl'ing the humble hack now).[

I keep getting the drasted 404 message when I try to download the skillinator. Also, I must be blind because I can't find it on (in?) the list.
Download Macrotastics.zip, skillinator is in there. Just figured that out and came to retract my stupid statement. I was busy updating and didn't install as I went. Forgive my rashness and thanks for letting me know.

I haven't even really begun to play the game yet, so I don't know if this is a bug or not, but I believe there's something wonky with Veronaville. It won't load. All the other neighborhoods load easily (relatively speaking), even my custom ones. It was a clean install, too. I rarely play Veronaville, so not really too much of a loss, but I want the terrain on which to build a specific house.
