ItchyNScratchy: Fair enough. I couldn't tell from your post what you had already tried, and thought it might have been a case of search fail. Bits of this problem do sound familiar from my lurkings, but since I've been lucky in not having very many issues, anything beyond the very, very obvious is beyond my experience. Therefore, I leave you to the tender mercies of the More Awesome.

I place AwesomeMod in my game file

To which "game file" are you referring? Do you have the necessary framework installed?

But it's hardly worth playing if I can't play every household without watching each one age to elder before I can even play 3 sim days.

You can play with aging turned off whether or not you have AM, but there are dozens of other good reasons to have it. You may find it worth your effort to lurk around a bit more for existing information.

Do you use Awesomemod and its Configuration Tool (which you can access in the original post of the Awesomemod thread)? If so, disabling AllowInactivePerfGain should stop the job demotions (as well as prevent promotions, unfortunately) in the households you're not playing.

This worked for me and I run with aging on and story progression off. I'm not sure if it works on school performance, as well. Does anybody know for sure?

This has been reported many times. If you'd actually bothered to read the threads in this forum, you'd know this, and would likely have found a solution to your problem. The Search bar is your friend.

Chaos, the search function on this site is not that helpful. I know it's easy to reply to a request for help by saying that all the person has to do is search the site, but trust me, the search results are not as helpful as you seem to think.

Possibly I am over-accommodating, but I would tend to agree that, since the FAQ is buried in The Podium in the TS2 section, some newer posters may not realize that the "Search" field near the top of the page will only search the entire site if you are at the "Home" page. In my opinion, it's pretty counter-intuitive; since it remains part the page's header as you navigate, it's not unreasonable to assume that it "covers" the whole site even as one navigates to various areas.
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Does the Vegetarian Trait affect anything besides food choices? on: 2009 July 01, 18:10:50
What I find hilarious about the vegetarian trait is that in Sims 3, meat grows on plants like a fruit or vegetable, so there's no reason to be a vegetarian.
Well, some vegetarians aren't vegetarians because they want to save animals. Like myself. I just hate the taste of meat and the texture of the fat globules and strings. I still like the flavor. I can't process the real stuff well, anymore, as I found out when I tried some pepperoni on a lark.

I, too, find it difficult to digest larks.

It may be impossible to say at this point, but could it be that these neighborhood story problems are all somehow scripted and might be absent in user-created 'hoods (when/if the neighborhood creation tool is released as promised)?

If such a tool allowed one to create empty 'hoods and set parameters for story progression, demographics, etc., then one might have more control over how/if the neighborhood evolved.

Too much to hope for? Undecided

The original L&P promotional videos Maxis made for TS2 had fire-breathing toddlers in them (among other things that never made it to the game). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkxO2hrQFWA
Those are some seriously jiggly boobs in that video.  I didn't notice it at the time, but I wonder if anyone did and was disappointed when the game came out? Tongue

More than the jiggly boobs, I'd like to see the "blooper" takes where the jiggle animation is still being tweaked (ahem) and the models are flinging themselves through the air all boobs akimbo.

(If for no other reason than "boobs akimbo" is one of my favourites phrases I so rarely get the chance to use.)

"'Boobs' Akimbo" would be a lovely name for a Chicago gangster or perhaps a glad-handing despot.
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Graphical Glitches on: 2008 December 21, 16:28:33
I had the same problem, and updating my NVIDIA drivers did stop it. I now sometimes get a "blue-screen-with-hourglass" when I rotate the camera, but the game recovers in less than a minute.

Also, since the update, I'm able to run the game on much higher detail settings (and it looks so much better that for now I'm willing to put up with the blue-screen thing rather than back it down to lower settings).

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if MOAR RAMz would do anything for that blue-screen interruption?

Here's my tiny wish: how about just being able to navigate the available jobs menu? I think it's so stupid that there isn't a browsable list, or even a "Back" button, and I have to start the job search over after I've looked at all the options... Tongue

It worked! Fabulous! Thanks!
12  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Can this Sim be saved? on: 2008 May 14, 19:47:21
Thanks for your suggestions! I tried them, but it looks like the Sim is borked on other lots as well, as is the guest he took with him on the trip. One of the oddest symptoms of their problem is that neither of them can use toilets or showers...

Also, when other playable Sims invite them over, they can't interact with the borkees at all. They start to, and then the action just drops out.

Because of this whole "missing neighbor" message, I'm starting to suspect I may have done something awful in SimPE last night when I was sleepy and very hatey toward ugly vacation townies. Grr.

I guess this'll teach me to be more careful. I'll keep the poor guys in the Sim Bin for awhile just in case a solution comes up, but I imagine they're doomed.

Thanks again!
13  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Can this Sim be saved? on: 2008 May 14, 15:17:55
Hello all! This is my first post, although I've been lurking for a while...

I am having a problem with a Sim who has recently returned from vacation. Perhaps it's because I deleted the vacation destination after he got home and replaced all the templates? I have attached the error log that was generated when I enabled testing cheats. Can this guy be fixed?

I have all expansions through BV (running no-CD cracked version), no stuff packs.

P.S. There is currently a dialog box with "cancel-reset-delete" on the screen, and I can't get "cancel" or "reset" to work. I forget what happens when I push "delete," so I'm just not pushing anything at the moment.
