I find the firewall options in System Prefs to be totally worthless compared to Little Snitch. Can't recommend it enough. There are piratey versions around, but they're sort of flaky, and I find 30 bux to be more than worth it to keep all my other...questionable apps from phoning home. Especially sneaky and insidious ones like Photoshop.
I've been using CrossOver to run keygens, because I don't feel like installing a more full-blown emulator at this point. It's small and simple and does the job. A reliable arr'd version is available.

Seconded. Also, I am very disappointed by the face manipulators and default face structures in the game-CAS. I have heard some people say they are more powerful than the equivalent TS2 tools. This is UTTER, COMPLETE, TOTAL BULLSHIT. I fought with the TS3-CAS last night, trying to come up with some eye shapes that wouldn't look like space aliens or hentai and came up short. The jaws can either be round and fat or pointed like a hatchet. It would take a loving Sim-mother to look at just the face-shape of any of these Sims and think they were lovely. I am despondent over this. I don't see how any tool could come out to change this. I was looking forward to making some replacement default face structures, as we did for TS2, but if you can't even get half-way there with the CAS, I don't think it can be done short of going to Milkshape, and with or without that drastic step, there's a chance that a decently shaped face might be incompatible with the game tools and animations. We might be stuck with this shit for a long, long time.
Yes, this is depressing the hell out of me, too. I was looking forward to possibly working on new templates for TS3, but I'm starting to wonder how much improvement can really be made. Granted, I haven't reached nearly the level of familiarity with these sliders that I had with the old ones, but I have put in many hours in CAS and am fairly horrified by it. You can't even change the shape of the forehead. You can't even achieve a proper cupid's-bow mouth. The lip controls are really the worst. I think it's back to lot building for me. That at least is much improved. |

As far as metal not being family-friendly, it's not like we're talking about them replicating Goblin Cock or something. Bands like Metallica (not my cup of tea, just an example) are very mainstream, certainly more so than...maracas. Obviously devil-worshipping lyrics aren't an issue with Simlish. In conclusion, EA are fucking pussies.

Ta-da!  Okay, but seriously.    It's a passable resemblance. Better from the side. HAET the new face controls. Name: Nailati or Nails. Last Name: I dunno, Heretic or Jailbird or Disgustipated I suppose. Gender Preference: IRL, males; in-game, either. Traits: Artistic, Clumsy, Good Sense of Humor, Inappropriate, Loner. Moar Traits: Bookworm, Computer Whiz, Genius, Light Sleeper, Unflirty. Perfectionist is accurate in theory, but as of now the implementation sucks (it seems to boil down to an obsession with bed-making). Favorites: Indie music (what happened to Metal, damnit?), Spaghetti, Black. Lifetime Wish: Master of the Arts, but Illustrious Author would also be appropriate. Voice:  Comedy option: drag it all the way down for more Dr. Girlfriendness. For maximum verisimilitude, add a silver ring to the middle finger. Forgot to do this myself, but I always wear lots of silver rings IRL. |

The hell? I have almost no experience with 3D programs, but even I could model a proper marshmallow in about 12 seconds. And the one-piece suit looks like it was made out of that contact paper you find in old ladies' kitchen drawers.

I like your attitude. However, I couldn't accept money for this. I'm waiting for an official announcement that TS3 is delayed before I re-install TS2, so in the meantime I totally encourage you to work on the other ages if you'd like. As far as making the faces into templates, I don't have a way to run SimPE at the moment, but I'm sure volunteers could be found either here or in #grah.
