Why are my waitresses and DJs wearing Maid Uniforms?
« on: 2006 November 25, 23:03:54 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

I have all EPs except FF pack and Glamour addons.  This started I THINK with Pets, but seems it actually may have been since OFB.  But I can't for the life of me figure out why these two NPC groups have started wearing maid costumes.  I have checked for any hack conflicts and everything else seems to be OK.  Any suggestions on this?  I really don't want to try and learn SimPE just to change this, but if that's going to be my only fix...

Also, I have done an extensive search for this on many sites and couldn't find anything about this anywhere.  If I am in the wrong place, you have permission to thrash me, or at least point me in the right direction.

Thanks all  Cool

I've seen that too. I have Pets, but no OFB, no FFS, no GLS.

Umm... huh??

Define "weird hacks" for me.  As I said in my original post, I ran the hack checker.  Nothing is conflicting.  And I don't have any hacks that affect NPCs or their attire.

I pretty much define all hacks that aren't made by Twojeffs or Pescado as weird, but I'm picky.  I'm thinking especially major bloatware hacks with lots of features that interferes with new EPs.

Paladin's hack conflict tool only tells you if you have two hacks conflicting with each other, not if you have a hack that's conflicting with your Expansion Packs or hacks that are just plain bad.
Have you tried with your downloads folder removed?

I have all the EPs and stuff packs, and plenty of hacks by many different people (this issue is not happening in my game) and I have never seen someone mention this problem with the maid costumes before.

I didn't say I never use anything not by them, but only small hacks, and I keep those in seperate folders with big red warnign labels on.

I'd try SimWardrobe's NPC Changer to try to diagnose this.

I had this problem not too long ago also, and it IS a hack that causes it.  Though I can't tell you which one it is.  I know because once I saw my DJs and waitresses in maid uniforms, I removed all the hacks I had and that solved the problem.  So just start getting rid of hacks until you find the culprit. (I persoanlly have no problem dumping them all if I run into problems, but I know some people like to find the specific hack and just remove that one.)

If you have any of DMA's hacks, those are the first I'd check.

*SIGH*

Oh dear, hack removing... joy.

Well, the only 'major' hack I have is ACR.  And I REFUSE to remove that.  It's just too fun.  Most of my hacks are from here.  I may have a couple Squinge's and a few others, but their mostly awesome.

Off to pull them out  Cry

Oh, who/what is DMA?

Ahhh OK, thanks!... and no, don't gots them.

I did just go through my hacks.  There was one there from jaxad for noNPCrevert or somesuch.  I think that's the culprit.  Off to test my game...

Sounds like a likely suspect!

Similar problem: postman as unimascot, streakers clothed. Only cloth-affecting hacks I have: Twojeffs visitor controller (that surely ist clean) and Shaklins painting that allows changes of NPcharacters clothes. Strongly suspect the culprit is the latter. Did not remove it yet, just change these guys back from time to time to correct clothing with Shaklins tool (if it really causes this problem, it is at least also helpful to repair it). Just wanted to let you know - perhaps this information helps you to find your special culprit...
