TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Serving Platter Madness

The Serve Food dance is definitely flawed, but I hated the Sims 1 method of "everyone mob the platter!!!" too. Especially since S1 sims were rather dumber about pathing, I always ended up with traffic jams around the serving counter when everyone in the family tried to Grab a Plate at once.

...why can't vampires drink blood instead of eating normal food (and consequently having to use the toilet, which is just SILLY)?
If I'm remembering this right, a large part of blood is just water, so animals like vampire bats that live on blood have to pee a lot to get rid of all the non-nutritious fluid volume. That's assuming number ones instead of number twos. (edited for formatting moronity)

Third edit's a charm.
For some reason I think this is throwing me errors. I'm running Uni + NL, and get these errors every time I ressurect someone as a zombie. At first I thought it was because my fight club was missing, but I replaced it and the errors continue.

I've got one -- must a Sim's urnstone remain where s/he dropped it even if it's blocking something like the toilet or fridge? I don't mind sharing the house with ghosts, but having them in the middle of the floor in everyone's way is silly. Couldn't they manage to drag the body over in a corner? Or is the point that I should be building pens for my elders to die in? Any does anyone know of any good post-apocalyptian custom content? Particularly some burned and grungy outfits. I want my Sims to look like they're suffering.

Also, during his tenure in the house, he never really owned a bed. Would it actually be possible for him to have some favorite object that ISN'T a bed?
Way, way back, I once killed a nanny by walling her in and letting her pee herself and eventually starve. Forever after, she did the "wah, my bed" routine with a puddle in the thought bubble. Apparently since she'd had nothing else to attach to, she decided her favorite object was her own urine.

I finally noticed that there were residential lots in Downtown, a factor that I can only put down to deliberate and excessive stupidity on my part with added malicious intent to cause a glitch. Or is this usual for the NL lots? I'm not sure what you mean, but there's nothing unusual about residential lots in a Downtown. A Downtown neighborhood is basically no different from a base neighborhood. Also, as Aspyr has pointed out to me when I e-mailed them, most if not all gameplay glitches are the fault of the original code and have nothing to do with them or the Mac.

Using someones custom content in your lots, on sims, or modifying their content without permission is...THEFT! I'm a little confused on how to diagram that sentence. Does it mean using someone's custom content on your lots/in packaged sims is THEFT, period, or does the permission clause also modify that bit? Because if the creator gives permission for their content to be packaged with sims, I don't see how it's THEFT. I think that mod called THEFT on people who offered to send a (free) item via email since the download page wouldn't load in their browser or something, too. I don't mind people asking to be credited for their work, but I don't get things like this.

liegenschonheit, if you'd share that would be very awesome. Can I PM you my email address?
She's attached it in her post, you just need to download it. Durr, I'm extra-stupid today, sorry. Thanks liegenschonheit, I've been looking for it forever.

My problem is that the huge dust cloud obscures the whole freakin' room and I can't get pictures of anything in there while a fight is going on. I want a picture of the horrified/cheering onlookers, but the dust is in the way. Also, half-sims fighting sounds hilarious. liegenschonheit, if you'd share that would be very awesome. I know I saw a hack some time ago that would take away the big dust cloud that appears when Sims fight, I think on MTS2, but I can't find it now. Anybody know if it's still available anywhere?

So umm, this is new. I just entered a Uni neighborhood and all the lots but one have disappeared. There were about three community lots and a dorm with one student living there which have totally vanished. One greek house is all that is left. Has this happened to anyone else? Was there a tornado?

Alas, I've exited the lot many times and the phone calls continue. And I don't have OFB. And I can't use SimPE because I'm on a Mac. I'll check with the puppykiller to see if he's been properly moved to Default, though.
Weirder still, I checked on the necrostalker in question and he doesn't even KNOW Douglas -- or has no memory of meeting him anyway. I assume he must be one of those "contacts" who calls out of the blue to invite you downtown, only... creepier.

Did the first phonecall occur moments before Douglas died? I don't think anybody phoned then. He died in the middle of the night right after getting home from work, and this guy called the next afternoon. And the next. And the next. I don't think he has other friends.

I thought I remembered another thread about this long ago, but I can't find it, so here goes.
Sim Douglas died about two (Sim) days ago, and since then, a friend of his has called the house looking for him twice. I don't get the pop-up 'Is Douglas there?' dialogue; whoever picks up automatically tells him Douglas isn't there, whereupon I get a popup saying "I'll try back later." I'm kind of amused how they're leading him on, but on the other hand I hope this isn't indicative of some greater problem in the brewing.
I have Uni and NL. I use Phone Hack. I'm playing a pretty new neighborhood, and I haven't done anything too disawesome there. Is he perhaps just too heartbroken to accept the truth?

Ahh. But, theoretically, if I had Sim Witness and Sim Cheated-On gossip until they dropped dead -- or just got lucky -- Cheated-On COULD find out? They just prefer to talk about burned spaghetti.
What about chatting? I know I've seen Sims casually bring up their cheating over breakfast....

Weren't Sims originally supposed to be able to find out about cheating via other Sims who witnessed the event? I swear I can remember reading that detail, or seeing it in a promo video or something. AFAIK this doesn't happen. I did have one incident way, way back when I first got the base game -- Don Lothario finished romancing/woohooing one Caliente sister and sent her home, and about an hour later the other sister showed up and yelled and slapped him silly. That could be one of those preprogrammed events though. Anyway.
