26  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Registered Offender on: 2010 January 02, 01:12:43
You should have married him to the French girl before making him a Registered Sex Offender.  I mean, seriously, if you were that French girl would you want to marry some guy you knew was a sex offender?
27  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 December 21, 08:51:44
How do you activate the Sell/Refine feature in AM?? I'm guessing it's a console command, but I was unable to figure out the correct syntax.  Huh

It's not a console command. Strg + click on the Sim whose inventory items you want to sell/refine, and the option appears. You can only select it if the Sim's inventory holds suitable items.
I don't know what keyboard you're using, but on my keyboard it's the "Ctrl" key.  Same key for all Sup Com features.
28  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: leftovers and the handofgod on: 2009 December 21, 08:49:22
I have never seen this with or without Awesomemod, but I assume you're using the hand of god (which I never use).  Either turn that feature off in the config, or manually drag the leftovers back out of the fridge when you want to serve them for your guests.

Also, this question could have gone in the "Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread" instead of cluttering the board.
29  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Marriage, Baby, Death in France on: 2009 December 19, 18:55:34
If the Ottomas twins were born in Pleasantview, thier "father" was Brandi Broke.  If they were born in Riverblossom Hills, thier "father" was Patricia Wan.  I never encountered the dog as a father, so I don't know what conditions were nessicary to trigger that.
30  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Opportunity breaks on travel on: 2009 December 17, 05:24:37
Has anyone else had this problem?  It seems every time I travel to and from a vacation destination, it breaks any opportunities that require a specific item if that item isn't in that sims personal inventory.  It says that that item is destroyed and removes the quest.

It has happened with a job related opportunity that required me to read a book.  I read the book and went on vacation, with the book still in my inventory.  While on vacation I gave the book to my other sim to read cause she wanted to read a book.  I saved just before going home, and when I got home it says the book (which was in my other sim's inventory) was destroyed and canceled the opportunity.  I reloaded and put the book back in the main sim's inventory and went home no problems.

The second time it did this was during a quest chain that started in China and went to France.  I did that whole quest chain to the end of France.  But instead of going immediately to China, I went to Egypt cause I had 3 or 4 opportunities that required me to go there and since I didn't need the Keystone I got from France, I left it in my treasure chest on my home lot.  As soon as I got to Egypt, it said that I destroyed the Keystone and cancelled the quest.  Angry
31  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: "grab hand" in Sims 3 glitching on: 2009 December 16, 19:15:14
I have been having this problem and it keeps comming back.  I closed and re-opened the game and that "fixed" it for a little bit until it got stuck again.  I also went back to main menu and came back in and that worked once, but when I tried the same thing again when the grab hand got stuck again, it was stil broken when I came back in to my lot.

I am also playing on the largest SV lot.  My sims had been sleeping in a tent with a small shower/toilet outhouse, a fridge/counter/stove out door kitchen, and a one-sprinkler sized garden.  I had decided it was time to build them thier dream house since the mrs was expecting their first child, so I stuck pretty nearly everything in fam inv and prodeded to build them a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom mansion with a massive basement and a large courtyard.  It was when I had started taking items back out of fam inv to furnish thier new house that the grab hand started glitching.  It would look like I'd placed the item, for exaple the crib, but the crib would still be showing in the fam inv as well.

I actually managed to get everything out of the fav inv to the point where it wasn't showing in the fam inv anymore, but I neglected to save before I started placing some of thier relics that had been stored in the treasure chest.  That was a bad idea.  The vases, bouls, etc that I had already placed litterally started dissappearing!  They weren't in either sim's inv, the fam inv, or the treasure chest.  I quit without saving and havn't tried loading the game up since (this was late last night, and I just went to bed). another example of intentional coding? When the total itmes gets too much, simply start deleting some at random?  nice.
32  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Story Driver Beta-Testing reports on: 2009 December 16, 18:35:09
If Story Driver is on, actions will happen if Story Progression is enabled in options. However, like with EAxis, you will not be notified unless you turn the option to be notified on. If you turn on notifications, and Story Progression is NOT on, then you will also not be notified because nothing will happen.

I have story progression on and also InformOnStoryAction on but still no notifications??? Does it take a while? I have read the paper and some babies have been born. Anything else i need?? Thanks
Awesome Story doesn't inform about births, or deaths for that matter.  It informs about sims getting pregnant and also about sims going on dates, and I even saw one message that a couple had broken up.  If you want notifications about births and deaths, there are some available over in the Pudding Factory.  I don't remember who made them, but I have them in my game and they work exactly as advertized.  I like the birth messages especally, since it says who had a baby, what the baby's name was, and also the baby's gender.
33  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Sims ignore all custom/non-EA lots/houses. on: 2009 December 16, 18:27:32
Edit: Wait, there are requirements for houses to be suitable?  I never knew that, though I've always designed houses with at least 1 master bedroom, 1 bedroom, 1 bath, a kitchen and a living room with a TV+couch.  I've never had sims not move in, even when the house is so cramped one can't even move around inside.  What are the requirements??
As far as I know, the requirements for a house are 1 fridge and at least one bedslot (1 single or half a double) for each sim aged child-elder and a crib for each baby or toddler.  Sims who want to breed but don't have an empty crib will seek out a lot with more cirbs than the one they currently have.  If I understand correctly, you could litterally plop a firdge, 8 single beds (or 4 double beds, or some combination) and a couple of cribs onto a totally empty lot with no walls or anything, and sims would happly move in.  This would, of course, make your neighbourhood look quite odd.
34  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bugs in WA on: 2009 December 12, 02:44:18
The beds work fine on Vacation for me, but one thing you have to beware of is the popularity of KEWIAN-BASED SUBSTITUTES in EAxian construction. All the beds they use are uniformly worthless. ACCEPT NO KEWIAN-BASED SUBSTITUTES.
So a translation of what you are saying here into plain English would be something like, "EAxis puts crap beds in basecamps"?

I noticed that in TS2 Bon Voyage too that every single hotel in every single destination had utter crap for beds.  I nearly drove myself mad going through trying to replace useless crap with useable beds so my sims wouldn't spend thier whole vacation sleeping.
35  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bugs in WA on: 2009 December 10, 20:18:47
A :-\nyone notice that when sims try to drink wine they get ejected away from their seat and the wine glass is repositioned on the floor? I got one sim in frenchie town that persistently does this and now there's twenty glasses strewn around the floor. some bender, eh? Roll Eyes
I have never seen this and my sims drink lots of nectar.  I saw someone else posting that the sort of behavour you describe is due to an incompatable "coughdrop" mod from MTS.  If you have that mod, you might want to take it out.
36  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bugs in WA on: 2009 December 09, 19:53:27
NOt sure if this is a feature but if it does it sucks. badly.

in general it takes me about 12-14 hours to be fully rested in china.  My cousins who just got into the game agree it takes a while to be rested as well.  Have yet to try sleeping in the tomb.
Are you only seeing this is China?  What tent/bed are your sims sleeping in?
37  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bugs in WA on: 2009 December 08, 19:25:10
the damn game doesn't reset the already-explored areas for new Sims. It doesn't matter whether the Sim is from the same household or even if they have no relationship at all. This happened both before and after Awesomemod so it must be another EA bug, big surprise.
That is actually an EA feature.
38  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 December 08, 19:20:46
So I used AM's Sell/Refine feature for the first time last night.  When my sim picked up the mail the following evening, this is what happened:

Now, the only Magic Gnome I've ever gotten before was a French one I fished up in France, so needless to say I was somewhat surprised to recieve 7 of them all at once in the mail.  Is this the "normal" way one aquires a Magic Gnome?
39  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Event Notifiers on: 2009 December 04, 20:48:13
Grabbed births and deaths as ASM already informs me of marriages.
40  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Missing merchants on: 2009 December 04, 03:50:23
So all your Egypt merchants are missing?  For me it's just the bookseller.  I havn't visited France with this family yet, but all the China merchants are on duty.  I did a little google searhing and found this: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/134115.page  sounds complicated, but I'm gonna try it to see if it works.
41  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Xml fix for theatre photograhy issue in WA on: 2009 December 03, 21:29:07
My sim was finally able to get a photo of the theatre, the spa, and the school thanks to this.  Cheesy

Now if only there was some way to manually tell the stupid camera what you were trying to point at, like a way to chose from a list of possible subjets instead of it just randomly flickering from one to the next.  Less pics of one and a half mummies that count as "Two's Company" and pics of a snake charmer that count as "My Spouse".  The arbitrary "this is what you're pointing the camera at" thing is stubborn as hell sometimes and often does not relate to what is actually captured at all (like a picture of some floorboards that says it's a pic of "Fighting the Flab" wtf?).
42  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Martial Arts Sparring on: 2009 December 01, 20:51:44
My sim with maxed athletic earned his first martial arts point and then proceded to defeat his first sparing opponent twice.  If NPC belt colours mean anything, his opponent was waring black with a green belt.  I thought it was very strange that he could win so easily against someone with much more skill.
43  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bugs in WA on: 2009 December 01, 17:26:16
2. Nectar combination mix drops to 1 combination. (Vanilla WA retains combination record)
That is not my expirence.  In a 100% clean unmodded vanilla WA, I had nectar combination reset to 0 every time my sim returned home from vacation.

Quote
F. Putting cars into the inventory when traveling will allow the car to be used only in China, but scooters are not allowed in China. Egypt and France only allows the scooter.
I'm not sure what exactly you mean here, but I had one sim driver her car all over France when I put in in her inv before she went on vacation.  Also, my Rock Star is chauffeured all over China in her pink limo carpool while her Astronaut husband rides a bicycle (he does not own a bicycle; it just appears for him to ride and then dissappears like the scooters in Egypt and France).
44  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bugs in WA on: 2009 November 30, 20:44:07
*Traveling voids the Bookworm's Book Club Membership.  Which sucks.  It's supposed to be a lifetime membership.
*The "helpful" #/# showing in certain wish tooltips displays current # of friends incorrectly; it doesn't include foreign friends, but they DO count towards fulfilling the wish, so the tooltip will say something like 14/20 but since your sim has 5 foreign friends making just one more friend will fulfill the want.
*Some shops never open, or close and never open again.  Egypt's bookshop has been perma-closed for weeks.  Leaving Egypt and comming back hasn't helped.
*The wish to find relics adding up to a certain total value counts all relics found by anyone in the household, not just the individual sim.  This is actually quite helpful, and might be intentional?
*Some foods spoil at an allarming rate while others seem to last forever in the same fridge.  I had leftover Fish and Chips, Sushi, and Autum salad in the fridge from the last coulple of days and added a new pizza and a completely untouched platter of spagetti.  In the morning, the Spagetti and the Pizza had both spoiled while the older foods were still fine.
*Plumbing objects repaired by a sim who has completed that Handines challenge that is supposed to make all plumbing objects repaired by him never break still seem to break.  Can anyone confirm this?

Maybe not a bug, but VERY annoying: traveling totally jumbles inventories.

I too noticed the nectar mixture number reset to 0.  It sucked.
45  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: WA Bug? on: 2009 November 22, 23:40:52
I quick fix?  Yeah; don't try to play your old savegames until AM is updated.  Seriously.
46  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: WA Bug? on: 2009 November 22, 02:34:49
1 point per second of doing absolutely nothing in the game for fulfilling wishes (just standing idly).
That is pre WA behaviour, so long as the sim is in the bubble (mood is in that "bubble" part at the top of the mood meter).  No moodlite candle needed.  They just earn points because thier mood is high.  It's been that way forever.  Now, if your sim is ganing points when their mood is low, that is new and I have no idea.
47  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: World Adventures Goodies on: 2009 November 22, 01:40:53
They are only available under the community objects, you know where the rabbit holes used to be.
What?  Are the rabbit holes gone now??
48  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: New AwesomeMod Request Thread on: 2009 October 18, 05:03:25
Is anyone working on Miscarriage MOD?
I hope not.  Miscarriage was so innacurately represented in TS2 mods (dancing caused miscarrages, I mean WTF?), I shudder to think someone would make an equivalet mod for TS3.  In reality more than 80% of miscarriages aren't caused by anothing other than random chance.

While we're at it, can we have the rape mod back?   Roll Eyes
49  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: New AwesomeMod Request Thread on: 2009 October 13, 21:12:51
I've had athletic children work out a bit to satisfy a want, but I'll try doing it for longer and see if they start with a bonus as teens.
I've had athletic children work out to try to fulfill a want, but it has never worked.  The want stays unfulfilled even though the blue bar above the head fills all the way up.   Huh  Maybe my game is more borked than everyone elses.
50  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Does anyone want to try some DIRT ROAD REPLACEMENTS? on: 2009 October 13, 05:37:53
These will immdiately replace the other replacement roads I have.   Cool  I am a little surprized at how dark the colour looks in the screenshots; the replacement dirt roads I had for TS2 were a much lighter colour.  Not really a citicism; real dirt roads would be darker colour in wetter weather and climates.
