13 Sim kids in college!  Grin
177  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Blue Screen of Death? on: 2005 November 18, 22:32:58
1.  The graphics card is compatible with the game...a Radeon 9600 I do believe.  I've had the base game for a year and the graphics card was in the computer before I installed the game.

2.  Hmm that could be a problem, dust...maybe that would also explain why my CD-RW does not open anymore... Grin

I attempted to play Nightlife today and there were no BSDs.  Maybe the computer didn't like the fact that I hadn't updated MS Office, I didn't have Outlook Express open directly to the inbox, or the fact that I didn't have the Volume Controll in the taskbar.   Roll Eyes

I know it's a driver error but I have attempted to reinstall whatever driver I can think of.

Have you tried installing new drivers?

Ah I mistyped that.  I tried updating whatever driver I could think of.  Whoops.   Embarrassed
179  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Blue Screen of Death? on: 2005 November 18, 03:27:53
For the past few weeks I've been getting the infamous Blue Screen of Death whenever I play my Sims 2 game or any other game for that matter.  It usually occurs between the main loading screen and when I'm loading a family.  I know it's a driver error but I have attempted to reinstall whatever driver I can think of.  I even reinstalled the Sims 2 and all of its expansions and the following day I had TWO BSDs in a row.  Usually I have to manually turn the computer off in order to get out of the screen.

I probably ought to take a pic of the BSD but...any ideas of what could be wrong? I may have to reinstall Windows XP or reformat my computer as a last resort, and I don't want to have to do that again.   Undecided
180  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I am officially sick of twins. on: 2005 November 17, 02:13:51
I have noticed that twins seems to be as genetic as hair and eye color.  In one family of mine, I had a first generation Sim give birth to twins.  The female 2nd gen twin gave birth to a single child, and that 3rd gen child grew up to give birth to twins.  So somehow in my case it skipped generations.  However, the 3rd gen's husband had twin siblings.  So hmmm... Huh

I'd try this out.  I have an odd family tree going at the moment and would like something to keep up with my Sims.   Cheesy

It took my Vidcund a while to warm up to my CAS sim Aerith...he was a single parent of an alien genius, I thought that kid needed a mom, so...turns out Vidcund and Aerith married with not too much left in their adult meters, and they had another son together.  Too bad the happy couple turned old and died...they were cute.   Undecided

Is a neighborhood safe at a character count of 600+ ?  I'm giving my Sims game a break at the moment, so I was wondering whether or not to keep playing or start from scratch and see if I can get a safe notownie hack (though I could put the notownieregen into my current neighborhood, is it compatible w/ NL yet?)

At one time, Remington the maid had fallen in love with Don the maid, so they were joined.

Well, shoot, anyone can tell that Remington is gay.

Not the Remington in my game.  He's married to a woman and is having an affair with another.   Grin

We almost had to upgrade our old computer to XP from 98 because it was not running very well.  That should be the only reason why you should upgrade.  Otherwise, our other copies came with our new computers.   Undecided
186  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What do YOU do with your platinum people? on: 2005 September 28, 00:09:51
Uh oh, I have several Sims portraits that have the infamous "bunny ear" signs  Sad  It's funny because one Sim family I have, the wife constantly cheats on her husband, and the man she's cheating with is an elder ex-maid.  And *gasp* there's the bunny ears!  Cheesy

I've also had Sims reach lifetime platnum halfway through adult because they had gone to college and reached the top of their careers faster.  I have two alien half-brother/cousins that are both ltw platnum and criminal masterminds.   Grin  They're kinda dull though, but I guess that's why they and their families live in the same house.
187  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Love Potion 8.5 a Disappearing Potion? Hmmm on: 2005 September 25, 21:44:57
I had this happen twice, to two different Young Adult Sims.  When a Sim purchases Love Potion 8.5 (one), she disappears from the game, meaning she's uncontrollable and disappears from the lot altogether.  The first time I called the Matchmaker over to one Sim's house, another time a different Sim bought the potion from a Matchmaker in a Downtown lot.  This happened with and without hacks so...what could be up with this?   Huh

Thank goodness for brown-bagging.   Grin
189  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The man of her dreams... on: 2005 September 23, 01:24:55
I had one thing happen when the llama and the cow were in my college girls' house and such (the cow is pesterous and that llama is flirty, argh  Angry ) and when Portulaca invited her boyfriend Pepé over and the llama started doing something lightening-boltish, Pepé became furious and slapped Portulaca even though she did nothing wrong.  Alrighty.   Huh  Then when I tried patching things up by inviting the Matchmaker over to buy a love potion...um...needless to say, when I tried to place the love potion in her inventory, she disappeared from the lot entirely.  I left without saving, and now things are normal again.  *sigh* Doncha love glitches that save the day?  Grin
190  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Matchmaker Madness on: 2005 September 22, 03:20:45
Here are my experiences w/ the Matchmaker so far:

---Leon Barker is my guinea pig.  He pays full price for a Family Sim townie named Andrea (he's a Pop Sim).  They get along well enough, though their turn ons/off didn't match at all.

---Leon's Frat brother Ashley pays full price and ends up with Chloe Singles.  Their date is mediocre.

---Leia Curious is my ugly Money Sim.  She pays full price and ends up with a "Looks Who's Coming To Dinner" scenario.  Twice.  Hello!  Grin
191  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is it Nightlife? Is it hacks? on: 2005 September 22, 03:01:34
Funny thing with that one Sim that was affected with the lack of wants...the only want she did have was Woohoo in Bed.   Grin
192  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is it Nightlife? Is it hacks? on: 2005 September 22, 00:42:28
I had that happen to me with Uni only.  One Sim had only one want and she was a college graduate.   Huh  It's seems to be a common thing and doesn't affect gameplay too much for me...
